ELC (English Language Company). Review

The best school in Sydney to learn English ! The school is modern with everything that you need... kitchen with microwaves, speak spaces, travel desk, social activities... The location is perfect : in the city center, 2 minutes walk from Town Hall. The teachers and the staff are really friendly and make everything for you to feel good. You meet people from all over the world, make new friends and improve your English very fast. I recommend ELC !

I can't speak to the TEFL course, but I strongly recommend avoiding the 'internships'.

For all the money you pay ELC your life as a teacher is not made any easier. Those of us placed in Hanoi were out of the house from 6am to 5.30pm including travel time 4 days a week, with only one morning or afternoon off on the 5th day. There was little teacher support, unlike what we were promised. You're not saved any of the organisation chaos that comes with working in Vietnam. Basically you pay a lot of money to work as a fully qualified, full-time teacher on minimal internship wages.

If your aim is to become a TEFL teacher, go it alone. We met plenty of people who had, there's plenty of work around, and you'll be paid an amount that makes the chaos worth it (plenty to eat/rent/get around etc). If your aim is to travel the country, save up before you go, you won't get a chance to see just about anything while you're working.

The teachers are nice and love to help you with anything you find difficult for you, it is really a beautiful school, Thanks to all responsible for this school

We had the best experience at ELC with the Junior Program. I live in Sydney and I did an extensive research across many Sydney English schools for my 15 years old nephew Tommaso that came over from Italy to study English for 6 weeks. He found an amazing group of friends and the best teachers & daily activities during his experience at the Junior Program. A life experience he will never forget! His English improved and he was able to converse fluently by the end of the course. Thanks so much for all the hard work that goes into the preparation and daily organisation of the Junior program.

I had the best time in this school. It has a great location, lovely teachers and its premises are modern, beautiful and comfortable. You get the chance to improve your English very much and still enjoy your time in Sydney. And you meet so many wonderful students from all around the world. I wish I could go back to study in ELC all over again. Thank you for the amazing time!

I spent 3 months in this school. The courses are really good quality. The teachers are funny and serious in the same time. I recommand ELC school.

The school is located just next to the Darling Harbour, in the center of Sydney. The location is fabulous ! The quality of the school is exceptionnal. The staff and teachers are so nice and they even are your friends. I highly recommend anyone who want to study in Sydney to go at ELC ! This is the school to be, this is the place to be ! Sydney is a fantastic city, you can do anything you want. You have the sea, the shopping center, the clubs and the nature at the same time. ELC will take care of you along your journey and helping you achieving your goals I can guarantee you. It's definitely a 5 stars rate !

My strong recommendation language school for international students is English Language Company(ELC). Studying English for 3 months is really fantastic at ELC. There is clean and helpful facilities; public kitchen, fridge, travel agency, high speed Wi-fi! Also everyday they have own activities! You can make friends easily with student who is different level class if you join ones. The teachers are really nice and enjoyed their class every time. I'm sure that my English skill was improved than what I expected before. I got nervous so much to spend new life in Australia but the teachers, staffs, friends helped and took care of me. When it was my last day of ELC, I cried with my friends in my classroom. I've never forgot spending time at ELC. Thank you everyone!

I am the mother of student - Minjae (Korean)- who attended the junior program at the ELC in July/August 2019. I choosed ELC given ELC has had a great reputation as a quality private English provider over the last two decades. Minjae had an amazing time and expereince at the ELC, which helped him not only in improving his English skill but also in building up his confidence. He made many friends and had so much fun with students came from all different countries such as France, China, Laos, Veitnam, Germnay etc etc. (great mixture of nationalities!!) They even hang out after school or on the weekend to spend time and do activities together. He still stays in touch with them and looks forward to catching up with some of them again soon.

I believe that this could be a life long lesson for kids to learn and understand muticultural environment, different cultures, people, languages beyond just studying English. Big thanks to ELC for looking after kids so well ensruing they had a amzing time there! .

I studied English during one year in ELC and I learnt not only English over there, but also life lessons. I would say that the best thing about this school is its team, including teachers and all its staff. They are always there to support you and you will learn as much as you want. I specially recommend you to take the Cambridge course, is totally worth it.

Excellent school . Great location . I recommend studying Cambridge course ( in this course you learn more and faster than the others courses ) and Morning timetable ( better teaching quality).

There is the best school for me !
There are various nationalities and have lots of activities. You will meet kind teachers and lovely friends but you should decide to study for a bit long time is better (3-4 months). Location is pretty nice place ,very easy to go everywhere and there is nearby destination for tourism such as hyde park and darling harbour. ELC is one of the best choice to study english in sydney for your life.. :)

I learnt a lot and also I met a lot of people from a lot of different places around the world, my teachers were so kind , friendly and also knowledgeable, thanks ELC, Sylvia and Gaia the best ever.

Extremely disappointing school for the amount of money I have paid for. Considering how many schools are in Sydney, you would think they would hire better teachers and offer competitive prices.

Terrible school I was robbed 4 times inside the place. The infrastructure is very bad. The bathrooms are raining. The air conditioner works on some floors. You pass the level just because they need places (you finish the book and go to the level) The tests are reviewed by the students.

All around you has been planning to teach and support you. I'll never forget my time here.

This school is considered the best English school of Sydney and i can say that is true! the location is really good because is in the city center so it is easy to go everywhere. Also the place is so modern and adapted to socialize with amazing people from all around the world. :)

I just got my certificate and im really thankful. I loved this school,its really cozy and people are lovely and always helpful. I made new friends from all of the world. I will never forget About my teacher LEO. So easygoing, always happy with smile on his face and i learned a lot. He has wonderful personality and this is how should teacher looks like! I ll be miss him.
