We had a great experience with Elan Solar from start to finish. Really enjoyed working with Kevin and his team.

Edited to add the following - I'm leaving my review as it was, but I have to give props to the owner. He called within a couple of hours after I posted this review. He was very apologetic and told us that he would provide additional training to his employees to make sure that what happened to us would not happen again. I'm leaving my original review so others can see what happened, but we do appreciate the owner's diligence in addressing the problems with this experience. Thank you.

False pretenses and high pressure sales tactics. Stay away! A representative of Elan ignored our No Soliciting sign and rang the doorbell. My wife answered the door and the Elan rep name dropped Rocky Mountain Power, misleading my wife into believing that this person was affiliated with RMP. This was believable because there was a RMP truck parked across the street. The Elan rep arranged an appointment for what we thought was an estimate on solar panel installation

When the Elan rep arrived, instead of providing an estimate, he delivered a very long, detailed sales pitch. Then, instead of providing an estimate, he used high pressure sales tactics to try to get my wife to sign a contract obligating her to pay over $40,000 for solar panels. Not only is this an excessive amount for solar installation, but when she refused to sign, the Elan rep became frustrated because she "wasted his time".

Reputable companies are honest about who they are. They don't try to associate themselves with other companies. Also, reputable companies are confident that their product and service can stand up to competition. The Elan rep seemed frustrated when my wife said she wanted to get competing bids. We got multiple bids for fence installation and landscaping, which was FAR cheaper than what the solar panels would cost. Is it so unreasonable to want to make sure we are getting a fair deal?

I can tell you this - even if Elan's price was competitive and fair, we will NOT be making any purchases from them. I'm not interested in conducting business with companies that misrepresent who they are, what they sell, and use high pressure sales tactics. I hope everyone who reads this will stay FAR away from Elan.

Elan Solar gave me great options for a great price. I took multiple quotes and felt I got the best product for the best price with Elan.

Going Solar with Elan was an awesome experience. My Dad had been looking into solar for a while but did not trust anyone enough to help him and not focus simply on the sale. An Elan Solar rep came and explained in full detail all questions or concerns my Dad had in making his decision and not only earned his trust, but hooked him up an monthly payment that was CHEAPER then what he previously paid to RMP. The design is perfect, covers 100% of usage, and the experience was so quick and easy with no pushiness that many people expect from salespeople in general. I'm happy we went with Elan Solar and highly, HIGHLY encourage people interested in Solar giving these folks a chance to sit with them and really help them.

I ve been familiar with the solar industry and looked extensively into it for the last few years and ended up getting solar for my home last year. Elan Solar was fantastic to work with, their sales people were much more knowledgeable than the many other companies I met with and they were very upfront and honest about every aspect of the process. The worst part of the process was waiting to get my net meter from Rocky Mountain Power which Elan Solar couldn t do anything about. Super happy with them and their team. Definitely a company that cares about their customers and provides a valuable product.

Elan Solar was great to work with and we love our Solar Panels! It s been a great investment so far and they have always been so quick to respond to my questions. Plus you can t be a $2.49 Rocky Mountain Power Bill

Went super smooth, really fast install, took less than a month to get up and running for me personally, although I know that each install is different. But they did everything they could to expedite and took care of all the legwork for me so I didn't have to lift a finger. Thanks Elan!

I highly recommend this company. I have worked a jointly with them for a while and if you re thinking about going solar, go through Elan! They really care about their customers and make sure things get done correctly and efficiently!

**Edited Review June 2020, adding back stars for good customer service, related to the issue below. My inverter had failed and needed to be replaced and after a lot of confusion about who was, I guess responsible for handling the warranty Kevin at Elan helped me get my inverter replaced by a different solar installation company. My system is now back up and running properly, thank you Kevin.

**Edit for March 2020 from 5 star to 2 for lack of customer support. I've been calling these guys for about a month trying to get someone to tell me why panels are not producing. No one answers the phone and no one calls back despite multiple messages.

We worked with Kevin in the fall of 2017, he was just canvasing our neighborhood and we had been interested in solar but didn't think we could fit it in with everything else we had going on. He was great to work with and helped us design a system that worked great for us, works 100% as advertised and haven't had to pay RMP more than the minimum for several months now.

To be totally straightforward, starting to work for Elan Solar has changed the direction of my future. The owner, Kevin, is such an awesome guy to work with. I have been able to learn so much, and help affect the lives of our other employees and customers as well! Whether your thinking about going solar and helping save the environment (and some money) or about working here, do it! You wont regret it:)

I had a great experience with Kevin. He was knowledgeable, accommodating and straightforward. I felt like a got a good value for what I paid for my solar system. I did not feel pressured at any time, I actually called Kevin because my neighbors recommended him.

The company the was outsourced (Alta Ray) to do the install could have had better attention to detail in a couple areas. Due to various employee mistakes my net meter install took place longer than scheduled.

I had been looking at purchasing solar panels for my home for some time from many companies, but never found the best price or financing until I was contacted by Kevin Colarusso of Elan Solar. They saved me thousands compared to all other quotes I received. Kevin personally followed through on each step of the process, and made sure everything happened on time and exactly as he had promised. There were no surprises. I have had my solar installation for a year now, and could not be happier with my decision, or the excellent product and service I have gotten from Kevin and Elan Solar.

Elan Solar did a wonderful job! I really highly recommend this company. They were responsive and knowledgeable. I had a great experience with them.

My experience with Elan Solar has been very good. The process from quoting to match my current usage to the required design & build out for solar, signing the contracts, working through the approval and permit process and installing was very seamless.

My wife did not want solar due to the looks but once it was installed the look was not bad at all. Not sure she will ever be all in on the look but the cost savings over the up coming months definitely are worth it. Check out the pictures... looks good to me!

My experience with the installation was over the top excellent. The electrician that came out was very accommodating and ran the lines through my attic and down the wall to have no exposure of conduit on the exterior. The solar panels are very good LG panels and they are minimal in thickness.

From signing to installation was very quick, only a few weeks. Waiting for permits and inspections from the city took a month or two.

I have been up and running for about a month and I appear to be close to matching my usage in heavy summer months. Which the goal for me is to break even with the utility company over a years time from April to April in my city.

Good news is that I am able to expand if needed and install battery reserves (although, I don t believe batteries are cost effective yet).

I would recommend this company for their engagement, communication, installation, quality of work and transparency. Thanks again! Excited to see how these do over the upcoming year.

The install was great. It was a smooth process in the beginning. After everything was done, I did run into, what I would say is a big issue, a problem. I contacted Elan solar and explained everything. Kevin was great. Took care of the issue in a fast manner. I got the feeling that Kevin wants to take care of his customers.
I will recommend them.

We got solar 3 months ago, but I waited to give a review until we could be throughly sure we didn't have any problems! We worked directly with Kevin for the majority of the process. I'll tell you this upfront: we didn't just get their call and go with them. We talked to MANY companies and got multiple quotes. As in, I had a spreadsheet to keep them all straight. Elan solar had the best prices for the highest quality work in the first place, and then their interest rate on their loan beat the other guys outta the park. The install went quickly and smoothly. The installers were professional and courteous. There were a few miscommunications/hitches here and there, but they always worked it out quickly and got back to us with solutions. On top of everything, we found we needed a new roof, and they helped us roll the new roof into the cost of the install and the loan. So far the system has worked wonderfully- if you are wondering where to look, check with these guys first!

Elan Solar is a great company! Their stellar team really cares about their customers. Their panels are high quality (LG brand) while still affordable and they have lots of different financing options to meet different needs. They were great to work with, answered all of my questions, and were very prompt at following up. I highly recommend them!

We have been very pleased with the level of information and service we have received through Elan Solar. They explained the financing options very well to us so that we could make an informed decision. They were patient with me as I deliberated if it was the right choice for my family. I was a little apprehensive that our bill would not be as low as the sample power bill they showed us from another customer, but sure enough, it is just as low!!! Solar pays for itsself. Customer responsiveness is outstanding. If we call with question or concerns, they are quick and sure to call back. The installer brought the incorrect panels to install and we called Elan Solar who quickly made it right. No complaints with them. If given the choice, I would do it over again.

We had a fantastic experience with Elan Solar from start to finish. I had previously met with 4 different solar companies, and none of the others were as thorough, knowledgeable, or responsive as our Elan Solar rep. They were patient in helping to answer our questions, analyze the cost/value of going solar, and find the best solution for our very specific needs. I have since recommended several friends and neighbors to Elan Solar, and they have been equally satisfied with their experience. I highly recommend Elan Solar!

We have had our system for nearly a year now and we remain very pleased. Kevin was very helpful and when I questioned the size of the system (thinking that it was too small when compared to other bids) he assured me that the system size was going to be ideal for our consumption. I am happy to say that Kevin was correct and I have not paid Rocky Mountain more than $10 even in the peak summer months. I appreciate that Kevin did not take the opportunity to unnecessarily up-sale me, so I highly recommend Elan Solar.

Kevin was very professional in his presentation. He answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. If I were to do Solar again I would give Elan Solar another opportunity to do it.

Elan Solar was so good to work with. I ve heard so many horror stories about other companies and being passed around so much, but I ve had one point of contact through the whole solar process and it has been smooth sailing. We had quotes from 3 other companies and Elan beat all 3, and were also the most knowledgeable. We have loved working with them and wouldn t recommend anyone else!

Kevin is amazing. He is so honest and forthright. I like to ask questions and know all the ins and outs. He was so patient with me. I love how he explained how the panels work and how it will help me save money in the long run. The solar panels are awesome!!

We had looked at several solar companies - each time finding it just wasn't cost effective with their high panel fees. I was skeptical when I first met with Kevin but was pleasantly surprised when his bid came in the lowest and with the best panels. The process was smooth and easy and fast! Couldn't be happier!

salesman came to my house first mentioning he was with rocky mountain power, once I talked to him more he said it was Elan Solar, I don't trust that kind of deceptive salesman. There was no confusion about it, I've reviewed the video I have from my door cam. The first words out of their mouth should be what company they are with, its simple.

Please train your salespeople to respect "No Soliciting" signs and not bother people. If I wanted your services I'd contact you.

I am completely satisfied with my solar installation from Elan Solar. It has been so refreshing running my air conditioner lower without the worry of hiking up my power bill. I have enjoyed my installation for almost a year now and it has met all my expectations and even surpassed them. Even though my panels were not activated until fall of last year, the panels produced exactly what I needed through the winter. My power bill really has been what the fee is for the net meter connection, even through this hot summer.

The customer service has been great. Whenever I have had a question, even after my panels have been installed, they have always been more than willing to respond and have answered all my questions.

During our first visit, the representative was able to answer all of my questions and presented a convincing case of why solar was worth my investment. In fact, I was so convinced after the first visit, I asked him to come back a few days later and we signed the contract.

The installers arrived quickly and were professional and did a great job installing the panels on the roof.

The hardest part was waiting for the power company to come and hook up the net meter.

I like how there is an online interface where I can monitor the productivity of each solar panel individually overtime.

I, too, highly recommend Elan Solar for anyone who is on the fence with going solar.

If you re looking for a company that is responsive, knowledgeable and trustworthy, These guys are it!

We ve wanted to do solar for some time for environmental reasons, and met with several companies. Elan is our best choice, best plan, best product, best people. Reputable Utah based company. Nicole first knocked on our door to tell us about Elan Solar. She was respectful, to the point and helpful. Trevor met with us to give a proposal with pricing, process, timelines etc. He was also very good, trustworthy and to the point. He listened to us and has been very professional.

I'm super happy with my solar system. I met with 4 other solar companies before meeting with Elan Solar and Elan is by FAR the best price as well as offers the best loan options. Even companies that were close in price weren't offering as good of panels as Elan. The first few months after my system was complete I think my panels weren't getting as much sun or something because my bill was cheaper but not completely gone. Then summer rolled around and my bill DISAPPEARED. I was blown away! I don't normally post reviews, but I had to share my experience because of how easy and mind blowing it was. I highly recommend Elan Solar! Oh and Elan was the only one out of the 4 companies that didn't feel like they were just trying to close a sale! Very much appreciated that.
