I love the chicken quesadillas!! Wait staff is either great or meh. Go often enough and you will learn who not to get. Ask for Jessica's area if she is working.

Fresh made guac was delicious and the prices were fair. They unfortunately didn't have mint to make mojitos but the margaritas were decent. Food came out quickly. Nothing fancy but very good

This is my go to Mexican restaurant any time family or friends are in town. I always get the number 24 and a drink called the trash can which I highly recommend. Also they have plenty of space that ever time I've gone here there isn't a line.

The best guacamole I've ever had and they make it fresh at your table. Great combinations and good margarita deals as well. My new favorite Mexican restaurant!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the spectacular flan? It is to die for. They must make it from scratch. I agree with every one else's comments too. New look (as of 2010) is great and the food is real and not pre-made. I also agree that the takeout is a monster to figure out (especially when it is busy), but stay and sit, you will not regret it (even when the bill comes).

Great service, great food, good prices. I always take out of town company to El Loro. Highly recommend this place to friends and co-workers. If you're in Chesapeake and love Mexican food try it out!

They sat 3 vulgar men right next to me and my girlfriend when about 15 tables were open. Seriously? Fruit flies buzzing around my beer. Fajitas were average. Wont be back

It is the only Mexican restaurant that has food that isn't too hot for me. Hot stuff is available for those who like it.

This place has good food but the service sucks. We had a waiter name Manuel and he never checked up on us until it was time to leave and had the nerve to ask if everything was ok but yet, he was serving other tables around us. I should of asked for the manager but I was just ready to go.

Showed up, got a drink spilled on me. Staff was polite and kind. My order forgot to get placed and took an extra 15 minutes. The food was bland and covered in cheese.

Was expecting so much after seeing and hearing great things about this place but was saddened at our experience. Food was ok. On par with other mexican restaurants, but they take longer bringing it to the table to you expect a fresh made taste. Food was bland and drinks were equally disappointing in taste. Onl Mexican restaurant I've been to that plays Pitbull though!

Surprising that on a Saturday night it was not crowded. Service was excellent. California Chicken burrito was huge and delicious. Three berry margarita was amazing. This place is never disappointing. I've been coming for 7 years.

Fantastic place for the most delicious Mexican food. Large and comfy, waitresses are absolutely awesome. Food is absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable. You will not be disappointed I guarantee you will love it, you got that from, billyjack ya hear?

El Loro has the best Chori Pollo and Margaritas! Can't go wrong.

Untasteful..... i will never return.. ordered nachos. It came to the table. Wet.... beans and the chicken cold.. how can you mess up nachos.

Tonight was the first and last time trying this place..after the waitress brought our drink order she came to the table and told us she'd be back in one second then a few minutes later she said the same thing ,after about ten minutes she eventually made it back and took our food order my girl friend and her daughter ordered fajitas to share and I ordered a taco loco salad..we waited about 20 minutes and they brought us the tortillas for the fajitas after another 15 minutes they brought the plate with the rice and lettuce etc.that go with the fajitas and my taco loco salad which was cold, we still don't have the chicken for the fajitas,after several more minutes they finally bring the chicken..nothing special about the food it was just ok, some of the worst service I have ever experienced

We tried this place out randomly and it was awesome! We HAD to come back a week later for date night because the food and the service were great! There was no wait both times we ve come and we ve always been served promptly. The waitresses are super friendly. Our food always comes out hot, delicious and just as we ordered it. 10/10 would recommend.

Aweful experience. Place 2 takeout orders requesting separate bags for each order but will pay for the orders together (which means separate chips and sauces). Waitress says i can only get. 1 order of s chips and sauce unless i pay for each order separately (why ?). After discussing with waitress that this makes no sense she put the oder in. The food was brought to us in 15 minutes or so and we went home. We removed food from the bag and found the container with the2 burritos I ordered nearly half filled with water; opened bag containing chips and sauce and the 2 container of sauce were less than half full each (really ?). I believe this to be act of retaliation for me questioning the way the order had to be rang up. I ve gone to several Mexican restaurants in Chesapeake and surrounding areas and never had this experience. I recommend Plaza Azteca in 2 Chesapeake locations, providence rd Virginia beach or main street in suffolk. They know how to treat a customer. Good food, good service, smiling faces and no pettiness. Im telling you, in short, dont go there. Im giving you the condensed versions of my experience...

This place was great. Best service I have had in a while. My family said hands down best guacamole on the south side. Great portions and fast service.

About 4 years ago was one of my favorite places in HR area. Came back twice in the last 6 month and is not even close.. food need seasoning, margaritas no flavor. Water down and only tequila. Can't believe this. Down goes another place to cheap owners.

Potato enchiladas are the best around. If you are vegetarian, give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Service is outstanding and the inside is socially distanced. Good cleaning observed while we were there.

We were seated immediately, probably due to the fact that they were due to close in an hour. Our waitress was prompt and pleasant. And our food arrived in a timely manner. It was delicious. If ever I'm in Chesapeake again and I'm craving Mexican....I'll be headed here.

If you are looking for a bar, this is the best kept secret. It's not over-crowded, drinks are good...try the Marga-rona, prices are great. Service is always good, and they make sure to keep the chips and salsa coming. Juan "The Guacamole Man" makes a great experience greater. By far the best guacamole I ever had; even after 2 trips to Mexico.

I don't always eat Mexican food, but when I do, it's at El Loro's.

Decent place, food lacked flavor and heat for a Mexican restraunt a good happy hour till 7 pm.

Excellent food, prepared fresh for every order. Each plate is very hot when it arrives at your table. Fresh guacamole is prepared at your table upon request.

This place used to be amazing, it's really gone down hill in the years I've been going. It's still pretty alright and I'll catch a premier league game every now and then.

No carnitas during lunch. Excellent guacamole but pricey.
