Consistently good Mexican food with good service. The restaurant stays busy at lunch and dinner but not to difficult to get a table. Lunch options are inexpensive and brought out quickly.

The chicken tortilla soup is hands down my fav. It's a hidden gem item on the menu that you would never think to get. Loaded with rice, chicken and veggies and my fav - avocado.

5th or 6th time here!!!! Great place! Yet to be disappointed!
And that guac though the guy makes in front of you is outstanding. 8-)

The server we had was very attentive but almost all of our food was over cooked.

Not so good today...not enough service staff...regular cook must have been on vacation. ..slow to get our food and food not up to normal quality. This place is normally really good on worth raving about...not today...

Really good food and service. We've been here before and will continue to come back when we visit with family and friends. Only complaint we have is that we ordered one dish out of our party with no cheese and sour cream and still received it with cheese sour cream. It didn't take long to receive another plate.

First time ever eating at a Mexican restaurant, I truly enjoyed the food.

It is close to my work it's nothing special when it comes to the food but the reason it gets 4 stars because the service is good. Lost a star because the chicken is always dry.

Made it for lunch based upon the recommendations here. It was great. Good prompt service with attention, but not too much. Food was some of the best I've enjoyed. Had the #1 lunch and it included great flavor from the beans. Fresh quac recommendation is also spot on.

I ve been a regular here for a few months now and am very satisfied. Food is delicious and I love how my fajitas come with a little bit of guacamole!! Salsa & white sauce taste better than most other Mexican restaurants I ve been to. Relaxing atmosphere to dine in.

This place has gone down hill, been going here for many years. The portions are smaller and the service was slow. There was hair in my wife's food. I don't think I will ever be going back.

First time here. Thursday night. Didn't seem busy at all, which kind of worried me. Don't know why our food took so long. One of our party asked for just beans and no rice. Got no beans and all rice. Brought out a plate of just beans. My food was ok. The Texas Jumbo Margarita was weak.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the spectacular flan? It is to die for. They must make it from scratch. I agree with every one else's comments too. New look (as of 2010) is great and the food is real and not pre-made. I also agree that the takeout is a monster to figure out (especially when it is busy), but stay and sit, you will not regret it (even when the bill comes).

Clean and fast service! They make homemade guacamole right in front of you. I had the Texas fajitas, they were really good. Most places load up their fajita meat with vegetable fillers but they didn't skimp on the meat here. Food was super good and the atmosphere was fun.

The service was great but the cost was not worth it. Their shrimp quesadilla was wat undersized compared to industry standard and at industry price of $12.50. Not worth the money.

The food here is always great. it's always hard to find good mexican food on the east coast, being from Texas I'm kind of picky. I have been going here for about 2 years and was suprised today when I noticed the menu has been updated but also it seems they have raised prices a bit. it looks to be about a 2 to 3 dollar jump on popular items, I'm guessing it's new management or something but overall it's still awesome food. Guacamole is the best you'll have apart from making it yourself.

First time being here. The service was good. Chips & salsa was good too. Once we received our food I was less than impressed. it all SUCKED! I ordered a plain quesadilla for my toddler and the cheese wasn t even melted. The chicken enchiladas I ordered had no flavor and very bland. The burrito sauce was also bland and the cheese was barely melted. All the food we got wasn t even hot. The hottest thing were the plates our bland food was on. Won t be coming here again. The price was reasonable. You pay for what you get that s for sure.

We're been there twice in the past two weeks. Everything we've ordered has been excellent, and came out quickly. My kids loved the quesadillas, the chimichangas were awesome, and my wife loves the chicken and Mexican rice.

This is one of my favorite Mexican places, I've been going here since I was 13 and it still lives up to the standards. Its also inexpensive and if you like fresh guacamole they'll make it table side just for you.

El Loro has been my favorite Mexican restaurant for over 15 years. I have never had a less than stellar dining experience. This restaurant is the standard by which I judge others of it's kind. The staff is fast and friendly and the food is delicious. I highly recommend both the steak fajitas and the California burrito.

Best Mexican food in the area! I usually get lunch #3-enchilada, rice and beans- or texas fiehitas. I could eat just a plate of rice from there and be happy.

Found this place and chose it based on the high reviews. When wife and I arrived we were seated promptly. I order special number 21 which came out the kitchen scary fast! As in it was maybe 10 minutes at most from the time we put our order in. The food was good but it wasn't magical as many people described. I would say its a little above average. Don't get me wrong the food was good but wasn't as reviewed by others. I gave it an extra star because the food cam out the kitchen both fast and hot. We had Jessica (Server #: 13) and she was good as well.

This is a 4-star Virginia Mexican restaurant, however I emphasize the Virginia modifier I'm a snobby Californian when it comes to Mexican food, but I'll be realistic. Being the only Mexican restaurant in the area that I have seen offer al pastor, I was moderately impressed. The meat was, however, a tad dry. I also ordered corn tortillas but initially received flour (they were quick to fix it, but it just gives me pause). I enjoyed the table salsa, it actually had both spice and flavor. The guacamole was also good, and obviously fresh since it was made table-side. They seem to have good happy hour type deals going all week, so if you want a place to come unwind it's not a bad spot.

It was....ok....taco salad was very wet. The shell was tough to chew and tasted sweet. So this food is meh. I certainly had better.

We stopped here on a whim. Service and staff were nice. The food was good but not quite as complex taste wise as I was expecting. The salsa for the chips was very good though.

Chicken Chimichangas and a side of fresh guacamole! 100 Stars for authentic Mexican food. Loved the atmosphere and staff. It felt like Mexico and the food was spot on.

If you're vegan you can eat here. They have a great veggie fajita dish as well as a few vegetarian items on the menu that they can make vegan. The food and the service is good, the prices are reasonable and they bring the food quickly. Their chips and salsa are also very good.

TABLESIDE GUAC! Always tasty. Staff is amazing . Everything I've had was delicious.
