Edison: Food + Drink Lab Review

The food I had here was amazing. I came here when they first opened up. The drinks were good and food was good. This trip about 5years later the food was so good. My mother has demanded that when she comes to town we have to try it. The ice cream reminded of being a child and the home made ice-cream that took days to make. The flavor was so good but the ice-cream was not the best thing I had. Great job to the chef

The potato crusted oysters are amazingly delicious and interesting as is the hot and sour soup.

Meh. The food was mediocre and the drinks were ok. The inside was nothing to write home about. For the price there are better places near by.

I would lead a revolt of a small country in order to have the butter cake dessert again

American food and the scene at this location is super good. Service is consistently good. The place has a cool atmosphere. Like a restaurant in Washington I loved.

The brunch was amazing. 4 stars because the dinner was not so much. The menu is always changing so you can't really trust these reviews anyway. The chef is very capable of creating something world altering but with experimenting comes risks of failure sometimes.

Food was fresh and delicious. One if the best Moscow Mules I've had around town. Staff was great and friendly.

Literally the BEST food in Tampa!!! Fresh, flavorful, creative, and unique. Ryan our server guided us through the menu, which is printed daily, offering his personal choices. If I could rate it any higher, I definitely would!!!

This is a consistently exceptional place to truely "experience" dinner. Never had a bad meal, bad bite, or bad drink here. Amazing.

My favorite place to dine in tampa whether it be lunch or dinner when I visit tampa it is a must to dine here at least once.

The food and service were both fantastic. Creative food that is unique without being too far out. A spectacular wine list with well thought out optiobs. Our server Lauren was helpful, informative, efficient and very friendly, she was fantastic. The entire staff was welcoming and reslly worked together well. Edison ' s is a wonderful place that offers a variety of food options and great cocktails in a friendly setting.

Love everything on the menu. We had the charred octopus, oysters both ways, scallops etc

Great atmosphere. Servers were amazing and very friendly and knowledgeable. We brought out of town guests here...they were blown away by the creativity, flavor and quality of the food. I had a recommended vegan entree. It was awesome. Love this place.

Went their for our anniversary and the food was all amazing! Such a great place for a foodie. Would highly recommend for special occasions

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Tampa Bay. It's not for cheap people or people who like to stick to basic things like chicken tenders. It's one of the most creative menus I've ordered and eaten from. Its menu is tapas style or small plates. My husband and I normally order a bunch of plates and share. The drinks are outstanding and the service is always exceptional. Only true foodies will appreciate this restaurant. Another great aspect to the menu is that its seasonal, so everything is fresh. I've never ordered something and disliked it. The overall ambience was nice, cool vibe, modern. It's a great date night!

Great local place. It's definitely a food lab with the menu possibly changing everyday. The day I went hand many asian inspired dishes using a plethora of asian ingredients. Additionally the bar and drinks are part of the lab. They have so many options of bourbon and rye. Perfect for a whiskey drinker and a date who would enjoy a cocktail

I've been all over Florida for a week, did a Google search and found this place, best food the Whole Trip! Most amazing decision, food, and drinks I've had in Florida! I'm not normally a food mixer but I decided to branch out and it made for an exquisite unique experience! Bartender (Thomas), staff, and chefs made this an eclectic dining endeavor! Next time I fly into Tampa this will be my first stop!

This place is mad! I love the food and the reactions my tattoos taste buds get from eating their creations. One must try this place.

The bartender was a mixology magician, the service fantastic and the food excellent.

Food was out of this world, a bit pricey though. Our server Matthew was awesome.

This restaurant was simply amazing! The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable on the menu, the mixologist a superstar and the chef spectacular. I eat at a lot of good restaurants and this was the best in a very long time! We took the waiter s suggestions and he never led us wrong. They call it a food and drink lab for good reason- I promise you, you will NEVER find more unique yet delectable offerings in food and drink - ever!

We had the absolute best time here!! What a festive ,fun ,energetic atmosphere!! As soon as you walk in the aroma has your mouth watering! Without a doubt the best steak I have ever had! The drinks are completely on par with what ever you could imagine as the best of the best !! My husband & I were blown away with our dessert choice too! We both can t wait to go back!!

Fried oysters are beyond delicious. I come just for them.

First time experience and I was impressed with my meal. I had scallops with mash potatoes and snow peas. I only have one drink because I thought the menu was a bit overpriced but all in all it was good. Service probably could ve been better but we had a large table and it wasn t bad

Had the fried chicken and waffles, and my buddy had veggie grilled cheese. The fried chicken was insanely tasty. The batter was epic and perfectly fried. The waffle was cooked to perfection and the kale served with it was also good. The grilled cheese had a crisp vegetables and killer cheese. I will definitely eat here anytime I'm in Tampa.

Over priced. Not particularly unique. They made an attempt at being exciting, but fell short.

We went to the Sparkman location. I ordered shrimps and chips for what you get: a lot of potatoes, a little bit o salad and just 4 shrimps! Disappointed for the price and quality, not coming back.

Absolutely amazing experience. The service was spot on. The food was out if this world. I highly recommend it for anyone that enjoys high quality food. I went with a party of 4. We split 5 apps/small plates and 2 entrees. The team brought out our experience in perfect timing and killed the execution. The cocktails we're spot on. Make a night of it.

All the food and drinks were great! The dessert was of course the best but possibly the best ever! Amazingly delicious. Service was top notch. Highly recommend this experience.

I choose this restaurant after reviewing places near us. We live in Pinellas county but always looking for different dining experiences. My husband and I enjoyed a Pre-Super Bowl weekend dinner on the patio. Our waitress explained the menu and spoke very highly of the chef and her experience as a chef in the community. We were impressed with her experience as a previous house chef to the famous .I look forward to stopping by again but for a late lunch next time.

Really amazing cheese plate! The salad portion was insanely large and had so much hidden bread..it was not the best on flavor either.. Don't get the salad with crab. That menu item needs to be revisited.. the flavor was bland to non-existant

Great drinks and cocktails, and super fun food concoctions. We went here with some family and friends and we all had a blast.

We've been coming to Edison for years as a go-to for special occasions. The rotating menu always offers amazing surprises and we love to try the latest creations cocktails to food. On top of that the service is also top notch every time and you're always guided through the experience.

Our first visit shortly after they opened was disappointing. Went there again this weekend and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was (gave it a 2nd chance since it was listed in the Top 50 of Tampa Bay). We would definitely come back.

I went there for my graduation dinner and everything was wonderful. My other dinner plans had fell through and Edison was the only place that had space for a party of 10 at the last minute. At first I was a little nervous about the price range ($30+ for an entree) but the food was great! I was stuck between the Korean Chicken & Waffles and the Duck Breast and the waitress recommended the Duck Breast and it was full of so much flavor! Everyone in my party loved their food, and they definitely deserve to be called a food lab. The only downside was that it took forever for the food to come out and mine was a little tepid rather than hot. The waitress knew the menu inside out and made some wonderful recommendations. She was also very attentive and was constantly refilling our drinks, but not to the point where she was annoying. It is a little pricey, but for a special occasion like a graduation dinner, it is worth it. I also found it cute and quirky how they encouraged you to write on the walls with chalk.

Octopus salad is a must! Everything we tried was really just amazing visually and taste.

The food was very good, but very expensive. I would liked to have been able to afford more drinks as well since the one I had was great. I think I would give it 5 stars if the prices were more reasonable. Portion sizes are small too. Excellent place to go if you can get someone else to pay.

My husband and I are foodies and love to go out to dinner. We went to Edison's for my birthday and were extremely happy with the choice. The entire experience was amazing overall and we would definitely go back!!

The food was excellent. They had a changing menu which is always nice and offer a great variety. The menu included items called "sparks" which were small one bites and the one we had was AMAZING and had to be one of the best things we have eaten in a long time.

We would definitely recommend this to any foodies or just people that love to try something new and tasty. They had a fun atmosphere and offered a nice variety of beer and wines.

If you like creativity and fresh food, go to Edison's!

Amazing food and service. Our server, Coleen and other staff members were attentive and engaging. You can tell that they really enjoy what they do. The tuna appetizer was great!

The food:
Cheese board was amazing(something about a truffle cheese) - loved it! The sous vide duck is fantastic, I highly recommend it. They also had a fine wine selection and I enjoyed a decent Bordeaux on this night though probably not worth the price.
Things to consider:
We sat in close proximity and being Tampa the more that door opens you might as well be out side. This made a sport coat on that summer night a particularly bad idea. It s an older looking interior but I think that s the whole point and part of the appeal but that didn t help my ultra perspiring self. It s fast-paced at dinner time and highly recommend making a reservation on the weekends. The menu is what it is, and that said, if you re looking to dine in an establishment where servers fawn all over you... this isn t the place. However if you re just looking to have great food and drinks then head over to this lab - they re all about food and drinks.

The name "food+Drink Lab" suits them well. Everything I tasted and drank was really unique and such a great experience overall. My favorites were the pork belly and the bone marrow with the French onion style bread. To die for! The duck confit for the main was perfectly crispy. And the cherry on top was the chocolate dome dessert which was heavenly. Our server was so nice and accommodating as well. Really great atmosphere, service, and food, what else could you ask for.

Great atmosphere. Very eclectic and upscale. Food was very creative and interesting. Service was spectacular. Plan to come with an open mind to the food combinations and flavors.

My wife and I went for our first time last night for our anniversary on a recommendation from a friend.

First impression: nice vibe walking in the door, good drink selection, staff were attentive but not too attentive

Appetizer: cheese tray was a good start to the meal.

Then came our steaks... disappointing is an understatement. The presentation was good, but they were tough. A New York strip should not require a hack saw to cut up. Maybe the meat was old. Maybe it was a one-off. Whatever the case may be, don t think we ll go back.

Definitely not worth the price tag.

Excellent and unique drinks and food! My wife and I were both impressed.
