This is very well run practice with high standards. The staff are lovely and it's a calm place to visit - a particularly important attribute for a dental practice. I've been particularly impressed with how rigorous the dentists and hygienist are - for check ups as well as serious procedures such as root canal. Prices do reflect the standard and service, but overall, well worth it.

Very high standard of professional care, top marks for Covid-19 sanitary precautions, very professional work, and polite, reassuring, and gentle nursing care.

I was a really nervous patient who had avoided the dentist for years, but Edgar Buildings Dental Practice have changed that! They deliver excellent customer service, are very thorough and make you feel at ease. Sally is fantastic, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Ray is so brilliant at getting the local anaesthetic in without pain, I didn't need to take any painkillers after my last root canal treatment.

I have just finished 3 years of work and am so pleased with the result. I couldn't be happier. I needed a root filling, brace and implants. Jay is patient and encouraging, Philip is a genius! Between them (along with the root filling from Ray at the beginning, and all the nursing staff, especially Ash) I can now smile like everyone else and this is down to their hard work and skill. Wonderful practice. From start to finish the service and attention was outstanding. Ray Bellamy carried out my root canal treatment and his expertise and care made the procedure calm and painless. He kept me informed every step of the way while keeping me completely at ease. Sally Davies carried out my follow-up crown work and once again I was given superb care and felt totally comfortable and relaxed throughout. I am extremely happy with the result!!

Very calm atmosphere, friendly, patient, supportive,caring and more importantly they explain everything to you every step of the way, ensuring you are comfortable and at ease. First time I have ever felt relaxed at a dentist!

I used to be a nervous patient, but with their help I am relaxed now. I have always received a first class, up to date and friendly service. I am also impressed with their after treatment care (after a root canal treatment), they phoned me up the following day to check if everything was ok. I would highly recommended it.

Accommodating welcoming continuously reliable good service and treatment

The Dentist was very knowledgeable and made sure that I was kept fully informed about assessments and possibilities. I had a very difficult issue with extremely curved roots making a root filling seem like a nightmare. Every avenue was explored and all treatment carried out with the utmost care and attention to detail, in an attempt to ensure success. Fortunately I now have a perfectly serviceable tooth. It could have been a totally different story.

I have absolute confidence in the technical advice, competency and execution of the dental services here. This is coupled with a fantastically friendly and efficient service, and a great welcome no matter how long it s been. Dr Pettermerides is simply brilliant, and flexing with the current circumstances, their approach to managing COVID is considered and careful.

I was initially nervous about choosing an orthodontist to correct my smile, but immediately i knew i'd made the right choice with Edgar. My orthodontist (Jay Wilson) was lovely and professional all throughout my treatment. I've just had my braces removed and couldn't be happier with the result.

I have just had my second and final root canal treatment (on this tooth!) carried out by Ray Bellamy. My dentist wasn t sure the tooth could be saved because of its large crack, however Ray thought he could save it and this has been the case. Ray is very gentle (I barely felt the injections) and takes his time to explain everything and ensures he gets things done properly. Not even necessary to take painkillers when the sensation came back to my mouth - brilliant! Highly recommended and thank you Ray.

Emergency appointment and first visit as my dentist has recently retired. Appointment was quick and easy with the dentist providing needed info as she went along. I felt safe and that the practice was taking necessary precautions

Dr. Pettemerides exudes confidence and charm and is very skilled and experienced. Result of 2 implants could not be better: no pain (except in the wallet) and no swelling. Back-up team all most efficient as well.

Very friendly and helpful staff on reception, exceptional dental heath care

My root canal work took some time but was very carefully conducted with the utmost regard for my comfort throughout and the result is perfect despite the difficulties imposed by having to work on a previously (2x) crowned tooth at the back of the mouth. At no point during the procedure was I in pain.

Superb dentists and service. Although not cheap, it will work out cheap in the long run when I keep my teeth! I recommend this practice and am so glad I moved to it from my previous dentist in Trowbridge. If you want a good dentist, look no further.

When requested a consultation: a slot to see the requested dentist on the same day was given which was followed by a pleasant reception culminating in a very successful consultation, albeit very expensive considering coffee is no longer provided!

I've been going to Sally ever since I was a kid and she has been incredibly friendly and professional the whole time. I also recently had some Endodontic treatment carried out by Ray and he made sure I was very informed on what the procedure would be, how it would work and what to keep in mind. He was professional and reassuring and the work was carried out without fault. I am very happy with the results and have no reservations about recommending Ray or Sally to anyone.

I needed a difficult root canal filling and an implant. The options were clearly explained, a clear plan made, which was followed, and the costs outlined and adhered to. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. The equipment appeared modern and 'high tech'. The dentists explained everything step by step, procedures were almost pain free and they always phoned the following day to check that all was going well.

The practice is also close to the city centre, so lots of options for a quick tea and cake on the way there (armed with toothbrush of course!) a shortish walk from the bus and train station (and downhill going back!). Definitely well worth its five stars,

I have been a patient for some considerable time and am very happy with the treatment I have received. Very recently I underwent major root canal work experiencing no pain and would say that it was almost a pleasure!!

Excellent work done by everybody, from the receptionists to the hygienists, the dentist in charge and assistants during the appointments. I went for an extraction recently and I was given a little bag of absolutely everything I needed post-extraction. My concerns post-extraction were addressed quickly by email and in person and I was given immediately an appointment to check my mouth.

I have recently had 2 molar implants fitted and am delighted with my new teeth. From the first consultation, Philip Pettemerides explained what could be possible and the process involved. The costs and time frame were clearly identified and at no time was I put under any pressure to agree, which gave me the confidence to go ahead with the treatment. The endodontic treatment was a new dental experience for me. It is amazing dentistry ~ gentle, accurate, thorough and effective. I felt to be, and was, in skilled and safe hands throughout. And no pain, no fear, (just pleasant music, and Peace!). A reminder to me that we should never take our highly skilled health professionals for granted... ThankYou.

I was having a much delayed implanted inserted. The procedure went smoothly Philip and the dental nurse were both highly efficient and professional. The procedure in itself is not a pleasant one, but Philip made me as comfortable as possible. I also appreciated his phone call to me the following day to check if everything was all right.

A very rushed experience, i was in and out the building within 20minutes with the hygienist and having to pay full rate seems quite ridiculous, when it s for a half hour appointment. Even whilst she was tending to my teeth she seemed like she had no time and just had to do what she could and get me out as fast as possible to get the next person in. Lovely friendly hygienist but a very poor experience unfortunately. They need to accept less bookings and not let it effect the quality of by the work.

Every member of the team played a role in my excellent experience; from the welcoming reception staff to the expertise of Dr. Ray Bellemer and Vivien Andorka. My treatment was provided in such a calm, well organised manor. I truly felt looked after. Thank you Team Edgar.

The service is personal. I get a reminder call the day before the appointment for confirmation.
The waiting room is spacious so that its easy to social distance. The receptionists and technicians are all affable and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Yesterday, I needed a glass of water on arrival, having driven for two hours to get there, and the receptionist fetched one straight away and brought it to me. I always need the loo on arrival after my drive and that is always clean and well-serviced. My dentist, Philip, is always cheerful and has time to listen to me so that I have enough time to explain any dental problems which may have arisen since the previous appointment. He has many years of experience and is always able successfully to fix any dental problem I might present. He knows exactly how much anaesthetic to put in an injection, so I am never left with a numb jaw afterwards. He has a gentle manner and so even if I don't have an injection I don't feel any pain while he is working on my teeth or examining my gums. A few years ago I had a dental implant fitted by him and have never looked back. He always explains everything clearly and is an excellent communicator so I always know exactly what he is doing and why. There is also good aftercare, too. During my implant treatment, there was always a follow up telephone call the next day, to see how I was doing. I also see the dental hygienist every six months. Catherine is always affable and thorough, and like Philip, puts me at my ease. I am able to finance my treatment through Bupa Dental and through that scheme can claim back a good proportion of the expense. I can also recommend his colleagues, who specialise in multiple root canal treatment amongst other endodontics.

All I wanted for Christmas were my two front teeth - and I got them and much, much more! Having just completed about 18 months of root canal fillings, crowns and implants I wanted to say a huge thank you to Philip, Ray and the whole team at Edgar Buildings for really outstanding work. I am SO delighted with the results. Everyone was extremely caring and professional and the standard of their work is superb. I have absolutely no reservation in recommending them most highly to anyone.

I was with another dentist for 30 years and now switched to the Edgar Practice, The benefits are huge of this practice in sheer professionalism. [Unfortunately so much damage has been done by previous dentist, who I trusted as a friend, but his work was not up to the mark].

I chose this practice after reading reviews about how friendly and competent they were. As a nervous dental patient this was important to me and worth a bit of extra travel. I have not been let down. Even during Covid I have managed to get appointments quickly, I feel safe there, and all of the staff are lovely and reassuring. Not the cheapest dental practice, but the cost is well worth it to me. I receive excellent, well explained treatment and they take good care of their patients.

Katherine is a brilliant hygienist. She has looked after us for several years. Not only is she excellent at her work but also has a lovely personality. As much as it is not a joy to visit the dentist, she makes it worthwhile in every respect.
We were also impressed with the responsible way that hygiene was being handled in these difficult times.

I can`t fault the treatment that I had during my implant and crown replacement. It was a real pleasure to be treated there and everyone was so friendly, brilliant first class care!

Beware!!!
I recently had a tooth extracted at the Edgar Buildings dental clinic.
When I contacted the clinic online I specifically highlighted that I had an acute problem and also that I was/is a very nervous patient. I repeated this when I spoke to the clinic on the phone to arrange for my appointment. Big was my surprise when I got there and was told I was booked in for a general checkup and no time to deal with my actual problem was allowed. Luckely they managed to squize me in the same evening but not only did I have to go another full day in pain but also go through the same stress and worry I experienced earlier in the day and I also had an additional 50+ GBP added to my bill for a checkup I never requested. I understand that certain checks is needed to establish a treatment but this way of dealing with an extreemly nervous patient was just not ok in my book. When I wrote a complaint, I was brushed of with a bla bla bla explanation telling me that obviously there was a miscommunication and despite they even acknowledged that I had highlighted I was in pain and needed an immediate treatment, no refund of the additional cost was offered. It is very clear to me that this clinic is just interested in getting as much money out of their customers as possible. Very dissapointing customer service.

I had a single implant fitted by Philip Pettemerides. The whole process carried out over a number of months, was conducted in a professional and sympathetic manner using quality products. I can highly recommend Philip and his team for work of a similar nature. A very friendly atmosphere with passionate staff.

The whole virus issue was very well managed. Staff were cheerful and friendly throughout.

I have recently completed endodontic treatment - essentially replacing an old and (not very good) root filling which had been giving me trouble. Both Sally and Ray have been excellent, constantly keeping me informed and relaxed. Despite fairly extensive work, I have had no need for pain relief after any intervention. I would highly recommend.

Everyone one was so nice and made me feel at ease.

My dental work undertaken in Bath by Ray Bellamy was just outstanding. He has literally saved two of my molars which were condemned by my dentist and saved them both. I have had dental work done in several countries including the USA, The Netherlands, Thailand and the UK and he is by far the best dentist/endodontist I have ever encountered. Utterly professional; highly personable; an absolute perfectionist in his work. Having an engineering background myself, I really do appreciate his superb skills and professionalism. The support staff at the practice are also to be highly congratulated on the work that they do. In my opinion, you will never get better dental care anywhere!

Good COVID protection processes and awareness make you feel safe

I've been seeing Philip for quite a number of years now and he is the best. In the past, other dentists have tried to push me into having (possibly unnecessary) work, but I trust Philip not to do this. He recommends rather than dictates and that leaves me free to choose. If you ask him a question, he gives very detailed explanations and I find that reassuring.

Had micro, endodontic root canal treatment here by Ray Bellamy. Though expensive, I feel that I have been given the best chance to save my teeth. All staff very friendly and courteous, the surgery rooms looked clean and professional. The dental surgeon and the assistant worked flawlessly together, inspiring confidence in their ability and they were very reassuring throughout a very long and potentially distressing treatment. They were very aware of how difficult and uncomfortable the procedure might be and communicated well throughout. Would not hestitate to recommend.

A few weeks ago I received root canal treatment. The procedure was performed over 2 sessions with a follow up to crown and protect the work.
If I think about what I would like from my dentist for any visit it would be foremost for the treatment to be successful; it was. For it to be comfortable; it was and for me to have confidence in the people and environment; I did.
I cannot recommend the team at Edgar Buildings Surgery more highly especially Ray and Sally plus Sally and Joanne who carried out the work.

I had extensive treatment with Philip for three dental implants requiring bone graft. Philip was thorough, professional, friendly and reassuring throughout. He liaised with my own dentist and monitored the progress of the bone grafts to ensure I was ready for the implants. It was a long process, but definitely worth it. One year on and I have had no issues. My new teeth are strong and secure and I can most definitely smile with confidence. Thank you Philip and team!

I have recently received root canal surgery performed by Dr.Ray Bellamy,and I am also in the process of having a single implant procedure with Philip Pettemerides. I would highly recommend these two very skilled practitioners, if you are going to undertake specialist dental treatment. Also the practitioners assistants and receptionists have made my experience of intensive dental treatment a calm time.

Excellent service, solving a long-standing and painful problem that had finally been diagnosed by the RUH Oral Surgery Dept. Quite pricey but I suspect you get what you pay for.

Just completed both endodontic treatment and implant treatment by both Ray and Philip. Absolutely thrilled with the results. All the way throughout my treatment i was provided with high quality care by skilled caring dentists and treated to the highest standard. I would definately reccommend this practice to anyone considering implants.
