Great food, good service and awesome atmosphere! Very worth it!

amazing food...but be prepared to spend some money.

I don't pay high dollar for food too often but when I do Eddie V's is definitely on my list of places to go in downtown Austin. The seafood is amazing and the steaks are great. The atmosphere is what you would expect to find for a luxury dining experience as are the prices.

The food was delicious, scallops were awesome. Wasn't impressed with the broccolini or brussel sprouts. However, the banana fosters dessert was amazing!! Definitely will dine here again.

I took my partners to Eddie V's for his birthday and they knocked it out of the park! We had previously been during their late night happy hour with friends and ever since have been craving their truffle mac n cheese. It is probably the best mac n cheese I have ever had! We went with intentions of getting that mouth watering goodness and some other items. We each got a cocktail: I got a Cosmo and he got the Margarita. This time, since it was his birthday he got a side of crab (I don't do seafood) to put in his part of the mac n cheese. He said it was scrumptious. Since we shared the mac n cheese, we decided to get the mini filet sandwiches. Now, take this with a grain of salt, because I have never really had steak before. When I took a bite of my sandwich I had to spit it out. It was very pink and stringy. I'm not sure if that is how it is supposed to be. My husband finished that dish, since it was a "no go" for me. According to him, it was pretty good. For dessert, they surprised us with banana's foster since it was his birthday! Let me tell you, I do not like bananas at all and this thing was amazing! We were literally fighting over who got the last bite! After this time, we definitely know we will be back again to get the two best things on the menu: truffle mac n cheese and banana's foster. Maybe I will get taken for my birthday!

This old-world charm restaurant takes you back to a time where SERVICE mattered.....fantastic food, great drinks and exceptional ambiance! Loved my experience!

Eddie V's is one of my favorite restaurants to recommend to my hotel guest! They truly know how to make a special occasion at their restaurant a memorable experience with the personal level of service that their staff upholds themselves to. The food.... The food... Ummm... I mean if you love food, great food... I mean delicious food, Eddie V's will leave you wanting more even after you are full.
All of the hostesses, bartenders, and servers truly know how to answer their phone and how to provide outstanding service, and how they anticipate your needs before you even can think about it is almost frightening lol JK.

To all hotel concierge in the Austin Area, Eddie V's has one of the most outstanding referral programs that I have come across in the industry. They not only assure that you get rewarded for recommending their restaurant... but the consistency in which they execute is beyond impressive. They do more than just give you a reward, but they remember you and truly appreciate your efforts to let your guest know about their restaurant!

Best steak and customer service at a restaurant in Austin that I've ever had.

This is a great place to enjoy live music and good food. I love the family style sides. Great place to have a date night with your significant other.

We had a superb dinner with phenomenal service, Eddy V's is our go-to restraunt for special occasions.

You get what you pay for, so they charge a lot for a reason. Perfect food every time!

Can I give this place 6 stars?? The service was above and beyond and the food was absolutely expensive but totally worth it. I was still licking the plate at closing. We enjoyed filet mignon topped with fried oysters, spinach and bacon. Soooo good iT made me cry

Maybe it's my East Coast roots talking, but sometimes I want to go somewhere just a little more upscale than Austin normally offers. Eddie V's is a good spot to fulfill your inner urge to dress up (ever so slightly) and feel like you're in a fancy bar in a bigger city. It's not the cheapest happy hour in town, but they offer tasty oysters and it's not outrageous in terms of price.

dedication to perfect service and delicious food make every dinner at eddie v's memorable. servers dressed in penguin suits are trained to follow a strict protocol, which may seem pretentious to some. half price appetizers all day in the bar area on sundays and mondays is a great way to treat yourself without tweaking your budget.

I wanted to take my girlfriend out on a really nice date with an excellent experience and decor. I chose eddie v because of the pictures on the web and the food experience for the price. the website pics are very deceiving. but the food was very good and filling for the price, the service was very good. but the place was very crowded.

I love this place! It is consistently wonderful! They have the best servers and waitstaff who really know how to make each visit a unique and special experience. I went with a group of 4 friends to celebrate a birthday. The hostess asked if we were celebrating anything special upon our arrival and to our surprise when we were seated at our table there was a birthday card which had been signed by the waitstaff. There were also fresh rose petals scattered along the middle of our table along with a candle.

After having a delicious meal with cocktails, we decided to splurge and order the bananas foster to share. In addition to the dessert we ordered (which had Happy Birthday beautifully written on it), the restaurant treated us to a second complimentary smaller bananas foster for the birthday girl. It was incredibly decadent and a very generous and sweet gesture.

If you are looking for a special night out, or simply delicious food in a delightful atmosphere, this is your place. I come here as often as I can. Thanks for your great food and service!

Excellent food and service. The atmosphere was enhanced by the piano player and his two additional band members. Very, very enjoyable. One of the very best steaks in Austin.

I am thankful for Eddie V's. They have a great happy hour that goes on all day Sunday and Monday. What a great experience. I am new to the Austin area and Eddie V's had been recommended to me as a great place to eat. My girlfriend and I were walking down town and decided to give it a try. We stopped in on Saturday night and the place was packed. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait so we went to the bar and lucked out when a couple was just finishing their dinner and we scored one of the first come tables in the bar area. Our experience started with a dirty martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives, very good. We decided to split a 12 oz fillet oscar, an iceberg wedge salad and a side of steamed broccoli with hollandaise. WOW. The steak was cooked a perfect medium and the pink fillet melted in my mouth. If you plan on having a full course meal, like we did, plan on taking your time and enjoy every bit of it. We finished the meal with a glass of tawny 10 year port and a hot blackberry cobbler topped with vanilla bean ice cream. Our meal and experience left us satisfied and content. I would highly recommend Eddie V's. Their food and service made the experience memorable

8/26/13 Went to Eddie V's again after not being there a while. What a great home coming. Bruce the bartender still knows my name (not sure what that says about me) and their all day Sunday and Monday happy hour did not disappoint. Going to plan a business dinner here this week so I can indulge yet again.

When my mom came into town we took her here for dinner. We sat in the bar and she absolutely loved the band playing. She never even opened her menu she simply said "order what I would like." We shared a couple of entrees and a dessert, it was a really great evening.

This place has about the best service I have ever experienced. The staff heard I was there under some less than ideal circumstances and they were so kind and generous. I can't recommend this place more highly.

Never had a bad experience here. Lobster tacos and the Sea bass in the soy sauce are always good choices. Best dessert is the bananas foster cake, though a bit undercooked at times. They light it on fire at the table. Waiters are also very knowledgeable and kind!

Stellar service, to die for food. Easy parking lot nearby if you don't want to use valet which they do. Made same day reservation for my wife's birthday had a card and rose petals waiting for her on the table. Highly recommend for steak and seafood enthusiasts.

Exceptional! I decided to celebrate my wife s birthday and they just surprised us, food was tasty and well cooked but the service here is excellent! We had an awesome dinner here, I definitely recommend it!

Had one of my best dining experiences of my life here. Top notch food and top notch service. Words can't describe how well our server, Luigi, was. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend to anyone.

I love sitting in the V Lounge when the bands are featured. It's such a great time! I love the atmosphere and, of course, the food!

Great steaks, and atmosphere. Good selection of wine. I really like sitting in the bar area listening to the piano. It's gets busy, so be prepared for a wait, or make a reservation for dinner.

I went with couple of friends for a birthday dinner, we all had a lovely time. The atmosphere was very pleasant Jazz band in the background. I had the lobster and shrimp bisque and it was amazing. Had couple of great cocktails I'd definitely recommend and go there again.

Exquisite cuisine, you MUST try the yellowtail sashimi and the steak tartare as appetizers, you won t regret it. Then treat yourself to a steak of your preference and pair it with a lobster tail. And finish with a mouthwatering banana foster and a butterscotch panna cotta. (The wine list is carefully selected and always perfect)

Nice experience with good food!!! We walked in late in the evening and were still served. Our service took a little long and my steak wasn't cooked to my request, but it was still good. It's a nice atmosphere and our second server (Alex) was great. I'd definitely recommend.

Eddie Vs took care of us in special way that was not expected. The unexpected details included in our reservation are definitively a plus.

The food was very tasteful. New York strip, red fish, lobster mash potatoes, and Brussels sprouts were all amazing. Adult beverages were very well filled.

The customer service is a plus and made this experience very enjoyable.

Great oysters! Steak was wonderful. Seafood lots of choices. Sea bass was so scrumptious. Will definitely come back.

Went for their Sunday happy hour. Little tough to find a seat at the bar, but we eventually did and it was a great time. $1 oysters were terrific and the jazz band in the lounge was a perfect accompaniment.

I often meet people here to talk. The service here is friendly. Prices that are reasonable.

John is awesome! Amazing wine, superb appetizers (sashimi was our favorite), meals were great, and even the sides were memorable (truffle mac and cheese was top notch).

Inside was great outside was terrible...who wants to run a gauntlet of homeless vagrants to get to the restaurant? I will not be returning.

Great service and the food was always above my expectations!

I went in for dinner on a Sunday evening and was floored by the service and the food. The server never let our water glasses get empty or let a dirty plate stay on the table for more than a minute. Everything was run like a fine Swiss watch. Can not wait for my next experience.

We came for dessert and had Bananas Foster. My husband and I agree that this was the most delicious dessert either of us has ever had. The butter cake base was melt in your mouth gooey with a caramelized, chewy outer layer. And the tableside flambe was fun! Great service at the bar. We'll be back for a full dinner the next time we're in town.
