Problems occur on their online banking system and it's not something that you can brush off. It happened to me twice when updating my bank account and there was a debit of a couple hundred dollars. Though I was able to get my money back, it took sometime to process and be credited back to my account. I closed my account after the second time it happened.
Management is terrible at leading employees. Most of the managers aren't even good at delegating tasks and are unaware of the conditions in the workplace. Most employees are forced to work like machines and lose their work-life balance. All of these result in a toxic work environment.
Terrible non-responsive no customer service bank. I applied for a MASSAVES heat loan. It took over two months before someone got back to let me know I had missing documents. They would not let me submit it to them but have to go through the on line process all over again. When I tried to contact them, they bounced me around to three different reps who were not helpful at all. I have taken out mortgage loans with other banks in the past and know the application process very well. I am writing in hopes other won't fall into the same trap and waste their time with this bank.
They have the worst customer service ever! They discriminate clients as to how big or small of a client they are. I made the wrong decision of putting my money here because they clearly don't value every client no matter how small their investment is. I had never been discriminated in my life the way I was discriminated in this place. They don't deserve to be trusted!
Much better banks and credit unions out there. Shop around. Employees are pretty lazy and incompetent.
Their customer services totally needs an upgrade. It is important for this business to check on this, as I write this, they already lost me as a client because of poor customer care.
I've never had anything but a positive experience with ECSB. My wife and I shopped around for a while when deciding where to open a joint account, they offered the most competitive interest rate and perks (ATM fee reimbursement, etc.), and we've never regretted the decision. The customer service is always excellent in every branch, and they even have a really good banking app (which I was surprised by, since they're such a small bank). Really glad we went with them.
Do not use this bank. They make charges without your knowledge. When I contacted their customer care hotline, I have to wait 18 minutes to talk to someone. When you do get someone to talk with finally and tell them about the issue, they'll tell you that they were going to call you but they never did. Bank employees never show good manners to customers either.
This has to be the worst bank I have ever had the displeasure of trying to deal with. Tried to open a savings account with them and jumped trough all their hurdles of sending proof of identity and address. Had an email confirming they'd received it and they'd be in touch to open my account...then never heard another word from them! Emails went ignored, phoned their customer service team, went through verification of who I was then cut off. Such a terrible service!
I've been with them for more than 10 years and while their processes are a little more manual than the mega-banks, they've always been responsive and professional whenever I needed support, and working with a local bank is better for the whole financial system in general. Fully recommend them!
My account was compromised, and they have ZERO protections in place for me or my money. Disgusted with terrible customer service. Will be closing my accounts, and taking my business elsewhere.
Edit: After making this review and writing a BBB complaint, this situation was resolved.
It's high time for them to automate their tedious and manual processes or else people will switch. No want wants to come to the bank for paperwork at this time.
They ignore you when you only have a small amount to open up a bank account. You can obviously see the difference on how they treat clients with big fat accounts.
The bank doesn't have much options on opening up a savings account with interest rates that are more competitive that others. Customer service is not very helpful either and doesn't even suggest anything. They just give what you ask.
If you choose this bank, keep an eye on your money. They levy unwanted charges without even informing the customers. I think that falls under the category of cheating.
These are a bunch of money-hungry people who pay no attention to customer's feeling. They want you to pay for a mortgage in advance, and if you are a few hours late, they levy all kinds of fee on you. Also, customer care is Never useful!
Been at this bank now for over 10 years and have always loved there service in every area I ve needed, would never switch to any other bank
The management can do a lot to help reduce the crazy workload, but they don't do it. They like to micromanage employees and make their life resemble living in hell!
The people at this bank are super slow. You apply for a loan and wait for weeks and weeks to let them check your documents. I am very disappointed and will switch to another bank in the vicinity soon.
At times like this banks should be quick to adjust and ready to provide what the current situation calls for to accommodate the needs of its clients. They should improve and make their online banking a fast and smooth experience for everyone.
These folks really need to be more tech-friendly. Everything is manual and human contact is something we should all avoid in times of COVID-19. It's high time to digitalize!
