I am a big fan of any restaurant that brings fresh fish to the menu and they do it really well here. Always busy so best to book in advance. The building itself attracts quite a lot of local critisism but it looks like sand ripples on the beach and is perfect for its position right on the sea front. Service is always good and comes with a smile.

Good food at reasonable prices and the service is pleasant. The main attraction, though, is the location right opposite the beach and the intriguing shape of the structure. It is made to look like a sand dunes.

Typically English breakfast, but nothing special. Probably the fact of not being English has penalized me because I have been treated with sufficiency ... surely I will not return to this place.

Excellent food, friendly staff, and a great location right on the beach. I had the seafood linguine which was delicious, plenty to eat on the plate too. Sussex Gold is a very tasty golden ale and the finish very citrus-like. Finishing the meal with a sticky-sweet Sticky Toffee Pudding which also contained dates that gave it that distinctive taste one looks for in such a dish. An absolutely delightful and original building. Thanks to all that made our meal such a triumph. I have no problem recommending the East Beach Cafe, on Littlehampton's boardwalk. Oh, and that view...

Wow, we did not know what to expect, but this cafe is actually a great restaurant! Location amazing, design is now famously award winning, the food was better than many fish restaurants in Brighton and the staff where courteous, attentive, but not in your face and friendly. This place is really worth searching out. I cannot remember the last time I had a lunch so satisfying in every aspect.

On a cold day popped in. Ordered cake to go with our drinks and they never arrived, no Strawberry or raspberry milkshakes.
Hand dryer in toilets not working and no paper towels.
Very Disappointing.

AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

Chaotic, overpriced, poorly trained rude staff, greedily managed, disjointed service, appalling portion size, noisey.

I have recently moved into the area and this little cafe was the place I took visitors.

Admittedly it was Easter Sunday, so perhaps it speaks volumes that they had no problem accommodating our table of five without booking or delay? We were 'sort of' greeted and pointed in the general direction of our table then left unattended for almost half an hour at which point, I wish we had left.

As a table of five eating together, nothing arrived at the same time, despite asking the waiter for every to be served together. Parts of orders were delivered at random times by a different member of staff almost everytime, one of my bugbears when you're a group table all eating at different times.

I will never eat here again and pity anyone that does.

Not sure good quite as good as it used to be and possibly do with a little sprucing up around the edges but great location, friendly staff and great on a sunny Winters lunch or spring /summer evening. And have a game of crazy golf next door!

One of the best breakfasts in West Sussex, quality of the food always appreciated,(however it's a shame when they run out of soda bread and replace with tasteless white).Service can be erratic getting food before drinks or being forgot altogether! However sometimes the service is spot on.View is the star attraction in good or bad weather.Usually a relaxing atmosphere.

Gave this 2 stars for the fantastic location, not great once inside. Sorry but didn't get good service and even though we waited for someone to take our order for 20mins, we saw what was coming out for the price so decided to leave.

So this is really 2 reviews in one: A 5 star review for the cafe, which we have visited a few times in recent years and always had an excellent meal in great surroundings and a 1 star review for the kiosk, which we came to this evening for an early evening snack/ice cream and which was just......sad. The snacks were apparently just chucked into an unappealing display cabinet and the ice creams were a dodgy "Mr Whippy" machine that needed to be shaken to give up it's goods and others in unattractive catering packs, stacked in a chest freezer with some "Doggy Ice Cream" (yes, ice cream for dogs!), clearly marked with a big red stripe as unsuitable for human consumption, which was also a little off-putting.

If the kiosk is not going to drag down the previously (and I presume still) excellent restaurant (we did not eat inside today) it badly needs some of the same love and attention!

One of our favourite places to eat. Food is tasty and staff very friendly, they can't do enough to make you comfortable. If you go for a walk along the seafront, it is nice to pop to the Cafe at the end; ask for a seat with a sea view.
What a lovely way to finish your walk!

A wonderful beach-side restaurant with an excellent menu: breakfast/brunch/lunch - the specials change frequently - and cheerful and helpful staff. With the current coronavirus restrictions it pays to book in advance. Our 'go-to' cafe - it's really a great restaurant!

Delicious food, and well priced too. Everything was perfectly cooked, our drinks were perfectly chilled and there was a good choice too.
I had the vegetarian vegetable curry with a naan bread - so very tasty. Highly recommended - and an interesting building too!

Fantastic food in an iconic building with an amazing, unobstructed view.
Service is too notch and the distancing measures made us all feel safe and protected.
The hallumi burger was delicious and the Gin, apple and cucumber cooler was a delightful end to a relaxing and enjoyable lunch.
Highly recommended

A lot of times I wonder why there are no cafes with a view to the sea as along the East coast from Seven Sisters to Littlehampton?

This is the place to come and enjoy your coffee or food with a direct view to the beach. The architecture of the building is inspiring and practical as is spans along in a rounded rectangle shape, so like this there are two rows of tables all with a view to the sea. Practical

The staff is friendly, the place is busy and I am looking forward to visiting again in the spring and summer months. If only the coffee was better...

The outside looks amazing and staff are very friendly. But drink wise it is disappointing which is a shame. We ordered hot chocolate and it tasted like water with little bit of chocolate in it. Not great.

Could be so much more... Does not live up to it's exterior design. Food was boring, microwaved and overpriced. Interior tired and uncared for (boxes and mess). Shame, as this could be a fabulous experience.
