Really cool architecture and looks out onto the water. Make sure to ask for a window seat when you book! They were pretty busy on 1 May so I think that's why service was pretty slow, but the food was good and the staff nice.

The architecture of this place makes it worth a visit. On approaching the cafe from the town it's form is organic and lies low to the ground, although it's rusted iron exterior gives a it an imposing feel. On reaching the beach side the building's aspect is transformed, a wall of glass revealing a bright and spacious dining room within.

The dinning room is long and narrow meaning you are never far from the view over the ever shifting view of the sky and the sea.

My party enjoyed every last piece of food, sampling at least 6 different fish dishes, all fresh and flavoursome. Prices were very reasonable and the staff warm and welcoming.

If you are within 20 miles of this place go!

This is my third trip here, absolutely love it. The fact its just over an hour from Clapham Junction, easy to get to. Had a little dip in the English Channel, warm sea but bit of a nip in the wind.

Very relaxing, lovely walk, shops and cafes, wish l had more time, but at least l was able to get away from London.

Very friendly and welcoming staff in a lovely environment by the sea. I had the pan fried hake and it was beautifully cooked. Initially I considered it a little expensive but after the meal I have to say it was well worth the money. A very nice place to enjoy some good food and drink the quality of which was matched only by the friendly staff, very fast and excellent service. Highly recommended.

The "middle class" choice on the sea front. Unfortunately its popularity has made things a little to chaotic. The food prices for kids options do seem like value but the standard menu is over priced for the quality, quantity and service. Nevertheless it is incredibly popular and booking is advised for weekends and sunny days.

The inadequacies of this typical Heatherwick form over function indulgence are more than made up for by the quality of the food and service. Forget the supposed 'driftwood' appearance of the place - it looks like an elongated turd on the outside and a cheap Santa's ice-cave style grotto on the inside and as chilly too! Beer options: good. View: spectacularly wintry.

We used the take away, not the sit in restaurant part. Seats on the top of the beach by the promenade. Friendly staff but only brown sugar not white, and I am not a great fan. Good coffee though and a tray of lovely chips. Been here a good few times over a good few years and it has always been nice.

the rusty bucket continues to excel, with a simple but imaginative menu, attentive staff and all set in a brilliant environment. I'd advise booking, as the place was full on a pretty miserable Sunday lunchtime. A main + coffee & pud worked out at around 25 quid per person, plus booze . Not a greasy spoon, basically.

We visited this restaurant with a Travelzoo deal. The owner and staff very very hospitable. They showed great flexibility over our ordering despite our having ' a deal'. The hake and mash was absolutely sublime. It's a great location with free evening parking outside. We would like to return sometime.

Was pretty busy, which is a good thing, but slow on service and not very accurate working out the price of things, fortunately under rather than over and may have been for speed to help move the queue on at the take-away bar.
