Employees can do as much when it comes to assisting clients. Despite the waiting period, the system is way better plus they also have a waiting area with church because they understand that waiting can be so tiring.
What I don't get is why have so many slots for tellers buy have no people occupying the space? I believe they can safe clients more time when all the slots are occupied and deliver proper service.
I like the mere fact that, despite all the clients being there, moving up and down the place still remains as clean.
They seem to be tired of their work even when its early in the morning when u ask them to help u they dont answer what u asked they tell u to book for an appointment just imagine booking an appointment just to ask how to change name
As a new tax payer, the experience is awful. Staff aren't ready to help with getting to know the system. I had to wait an hour just to collect a form which needs to be filled in which and returned. My previous visit took over 2 hours. That's only to verify bank details. Who knows how many more hours it's going to take to get everything else sorted out.
The service i got from Mr Aphane it was very excellent even his customer service you should hear that his well trained to do his job. Excellent job thanks for assisting me as well. When I first came here it took 4 hours to see someone, I brought everything with me and was told everything is in order, two weeks later I get an sms saying I have to come and confirm my banking details which I had done previously, after calling them I was told I have to come in, I have spent another 3 hours here and still haven t seen anyone, this is absolutely ridiculous and no one should have the inconvenience of waiting so long on these hopelessly uncomfortable chairs
Please change the phone number that appears on the google search page. All your calls are coming through to our private home number and it is extremely irritating
Pathetic...typical beauracricy. Was sent from pillar to post and finally turned away because my utility bill was days older than 3 months...would've been in order if they assisted me properly the first time! The guy at the counter who is supposed to be the manager is an absolute idiot!
I came in early and beat the crowd, so maybe that's why it was so quick and efficient. But, they were good. Damn good. Just watch out -- on Wednesdays they open at 9am, not 8am.
I must say my experience has been good it is clean inside and knowledgeable staff. Remember a proof of address they call it CRA01 a copy of your ID and your returns. Once you enter the door you will pass security then be seated in a room that they ensure that you have the relevant documents as not to waist time. Then you will receive a ticket number. Please note that there is no restrooms for the public inside. Good luck and happy tax season.
I got there early on a Wednesday open at 9. However I stayed and waited until they were open, no 122 in the door and I was seen in 30 mins. The lady that helped me was very pleasant, and help to sort out all my tax issues.
Not my first time at this SARS branch, I wouldn't go to any other one, they do what they can to assist.
Really clean, friendly staff, clear systems with a well functioning ticketing system in place - no pointless queue. Was a bit of a wait but other than that. A really good experience.
I know why the waiting time is so long. Once they done with a client they go for a break every single time or if it's not a break it is only one person working on one section instead of a team. Waiting 1 hour for just my Genre to pop up on the screen. Does it really take 1 hour to get a tax number ?? Been here since 8:30 and the IT registration has only come up twice and its 11 o clock I dont understand why not takes so long. Second time trying. Maybe get people that want to do there job instead of paying someone to do fokall all day
On Google it states that SARS is open on a Saturday from 8am until 4pm. This is not true and a big inconvenience as my partner and I drove all the way here today. The lines at Sars in the afternoon are a nightmare. Last year we went three times on a Friday after 12 and had no luck. Absolutely pathetic
I went there at around 7.30 am it was already open. The lady who assisted me was very kind. No long queeing ,Perfect system of tickets in place for different services.
It took less than 30 minutes to do everything including waiting ....

Efficient when submitting returns, can take up to 18 months to pay what they owe you, without interest. If you owe them, the interest on money owed is huge and you even get Garnished
Went to a Edenvale SARS branch on the 30 Sept 2016 to do my tax return and I had all papers except the bank statement and I went to submit it on the 3rd of October 2016 and I was told to wait in less than a month then my returns will be in my account but until today I haven't seen anything, I called them on the 11 November 2016 to ask if there's a progress or what. They told me I was under investigation and the guy told me to submit the bank statement, certified copies of ID and proof of adress again to the branch and they will start the process cos those I submitted before was for investigation not really for my return. The thing is why wasn't I told about this then only to find out a month later yet I received an email from SARS that this is how much they owe me and it will be in my account. But now it's a different story altogether. I'm not happy someone isn't doing their job and should be send back for training
Fantastic experience. Staff professional, well dressed, and every person was in a hurry. Extremely clean offices and great systems. I left being well impressed. WELL DONE!
