They're so rude. They treat you like you're incompetent just because you're asking for assistance. The lady I dealt with didn't listen to me at all. She kept trying to answer my questions before I finished asking. She don't listen to understand, but only to respond. Her attitude is as if she's funding the entire program.
I have 5 boys a single mother suffered thru Domestic Violence..need help because I had nothing...having a disabled child with severe spastic cerebral palsy. And I never got any help. They turned me away. But you have drug addicts that dont have there children because they care about the drugs more then there own child ...and they get the help!!! WHY!! SMH!!
I understand that the employees of the DUPAGE HOUSING AUTHORITY have to deal with a lot of issues with different people and this might put them on edge.
However, when they act like you are taking money from them, personally and not receiving assistance due to the programs the individual qualifies for, there is a serious problem.
This has occurred on more than one occasion with different employees.
I'm really sorry the employee has to deal with me, but isn't that their job?
Do they think being poor is a great life?
It isn't and they need to be more cognizant of the fact that everyone's situation is different.
THEY ARE IN NO POSITION TO PASS JUDGEMENT.
Especially when they start telling you what you can't do when it' is documented on the DUPAGE COUNTY website as being true.
This agency has been the godsend that my children and I have been praying, and longing for for so long. My experience was wonderful. The staff was very professional, kind, and considerate. They were also very informative and thorough. The process was very smooth and quick. My family and I will forever be grateful to Ms. Gail Winfield and the staff at Dupage County Housing Authority. May God continue to bless their efforts in helping those that are truly in need in the same way that they helped my family. God bless #ForeverGrateful
Section 8 is a bad poor program it's really hard a too find place to live when you have section I didn't know it was that difficult being Involved with section 8 i just really wish the best for people that's going through this process its stressful and a headache going through this process
My appointment went well. I absolutely love Mrs. Rosario.
Normal bureaucracy but they do stick to appointments so there's not much wait
I was wondering who do you call if you wanted to report something
All of my experiences have been wonderful and the one that wasn't I'm not going to complain about. This has been a god send for my son and me, it has allowed me to live in a better area and send my son to a better school system. Every single worker I have interacted with has gone above and beyond for me except one I would say 1 out of 10 is not bad, I am including the receptionist, the inspector, people I have talked with besides my case workers. I have been met with compassion and encouragement over the years and I've been here for 8, I read the reviews and can honestly say that I give DuPage Housing Authority an A for caring, encouragement, professionalism, and just providing all kinds of resources to help us. I don't understand the negative reviews at all, even the one so-called bad experience is not enough for me to write a bad review, the good people at DuPage Housing Authority outweighs the bad 10 to 1 for me with the good people being a 10. I am grateful, I appreciate all that they do, how hard they work, I could tell y'all some stories as far as my case and they have been excellent the whole time from the receptionist, to the case workers and inspectors, every year, every single year they have gone above and beyond for me and I appreciate them, I wish that I could do something wonderful for them all. I hope that they all read this review and know that they are appreciated, that to me when I think of the level of service they provide it makes me want to cry because they don't have to do none of what they do. They call me, they email me, they encourage me, they comfort me, because a lot of times I'm down in spirit by the time I come in for my recertification, and I always leave better than when I arrive and that is not their job. They actually go above and beyond and I'm not just talking I am for real, whoever trained the people I have come in contact with Jennifer Lesh, Dan Moore, Malinda Smith, Christina, Gail, Scott Lamantia, Mario and a whole host of others whose names I can't remember but were all excellent. I would like to do more, for now this review will have to do, but I would like to say to all of the kind, caring, and professional people at DuPage Housing Authority, you rock, you're appreciated and I am thankful for you guys. Keep doing the fantastic job that you're doing because you guys are doing a great job. Kim
Dealing with housing is a headache in and of it s self. However, dealing with them these last few months during Covid has been literally the worst experience On top of the epidemic and stressful day to day task. I am a mother of two who has also taken on the responsibility of taking care of my grandmother. I have had to find somewhere that is comfortable for us to live which is complicated on its own.
Having to deal with the housing specialist, I thought would have been the least of my troubles. But boy was I WRONG!!
Sandra has been very helpful with her guidance, even requesting to speed up the process so I don t end up in a homeless situation.
When it comes to dealing with April Wish, Who is the porting agent at DuPage Housing Authority, she has handled me in such an unprofessional, unkind, demeaning, condescending, disrespectful, and Inconsiderate way.
I needed paperwork to be sent over which was emailed in the click of a button but did not happen until the day of my deadline. Seeing that I hadn t heard from April even the date of my deadline I had decided to call her and leave her a message. When I finally heard back from April it was 4:47 PM and all offices at that time have been closed. She then enlighten me that she sent my paperwork to the wrong county, and then tell told me I had to figure it out on my own as far as tracking it.
She did not provide me with an email, a name, or a phone number of Who she sent the paperwork to. At this point I don t know where to start and I do not see the light at the end of the tunnel.
SO DISSAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED
They waiting list is forever closed there's no point of the office being open
April Wisch has made porting to this housing authority as painless as possible. With some of these programs people tend to mistreat you if you need assistance. I have to say It is so nice to have someone has done everything in such a timely manner on her end and that has been so respectful! I am very impressed with her professionalism and ability to stay in touch and keep me updated on everything. I would definitely recommend April Wisch for any porting related needs. She has truly been a phenomenal help!!!!!!!
Some of the workers are helpful and some workers are not helpful. Now DuPage don't wont to pay for billing if someone want to moved to another state or city in Illinois. Don't no one want to be stuck here in DuPage County. No one want to accept section 8 any more; and the only place that's accepting the section 8 voucher is the complex called.
Hinsdale Lake Terrace Apartments & Townhomes.
