Great views and good food, but way overpriced for what it is!
Breakfast was very well put together. Not a single complaint about the food or staff.
Visibility at 10am ish wasn t great due to the rain the previous night. But the condensation etc cleared later on. The staff were also accommodating for vegetarian options
It says quite an experience taking the lift! The signature dish, duck and waffle, was a bit overrated in my opinion. However, the breakfast was very good, everything nicely seasoned, I love the scone especially.
Full Elvis - reeeally good but really heavy so I couldn't quite finish. Creamy peanut butter, fresh berries, whipped cream AND maple syrup? Heaven!
My husband had the signature Duck and Waffle and thought it was the best thing he's ever had. He's a chicken and waffle lover and will dream about this dish until we can go again!
Food was alright but service was just disappointing. Food was delayed to almost 45 minutes after ordering. I sat aside the open kitchen and felt a bit messy.
Food is absolutely divine. Service was brilliant. Prices are rather extreme. Great for the experience but not affordable to go more than once
Five stars easily for the view alone and then there's the duck AND the waffle.
OK, this isn't a slap dash breakfast, it requires planning and booking and a fancy dinner budget but we were pretty happy with the results. The duck was incredibly moreish. We also had the ox cheek benedict with 63 degree eggs and hollandaise...which was so creamy and delicious I could have licked the plate. Definitely a place to take out of towners. I can't wait to find an excuse to return.
Duck and Waffles is definitely a nice place with beautiful view on London. While I was waiting with my brother for our bus we decided to have a quick hot drink there. The customers were really unfriendly, did barely talk to us and made as change seats several times when they knew that we did not to order food. The waiter asked us several times whether we were done or not. Sadly, to have made such an inhumane experience.
Cannot understand the 4.2 review.
My partner and I went as a wee celebratory dinner.
I'm a vegan, he is not. My food was extremely poor and, if I'm honest, I really had low expectations as is. But not this bad. The options are very limited but that would be fine if the food was good. The risotto was cooked well but the provided vegetables were not. His food was also very disappointing, the signature Duck and Waffle was very dry looking.
Charging 7 quid for chips and 4 quid for one ball of polenta?! Absolute joke. The service is kind of friendly, I guess, but the staff are not attentine and our mains took about 40 minutes to arrive.
In total we spent GBP120 for 2 cocktails, 2 snacks, 2 small dishes, 2 large dishes and some chips. We left hungry.
I won't be returning, which is disappointing, because I've visited before and really enjoyed it!
Very nice view of London from there! Food is mediocre, but the view is brilliant!
It s a shame the rude security ruin your experience before you even enter the building.
Acting so prestige I refused to even go in because of their behaviour
This is the best spot to enjoy a view with your meal. High up with great views all around. I ate here for breakfast and the food was delicious. A bit pricey, not not crazy pricey. This is expected since you are eating at the top of a skyscraper after all. Well worth the price for the combination of great food and great view. I suggest you make a reservation, all tables were full when I ate here.
I would highly recommend coming here. The food is good and the view is amazing.
Another plus, this place is open 24hrs surprisingly! And prices seem reasonable for London standards.
Best breakfast. The duck and waffle was amazing especially with that maple syrup with mustard seeds. The duck definitely did not die in vain.
Excellent food quality and customer service. Great atmosphere and views! Would definitely recommend
Great view. Great food and drink. If you wanna spend some coin on good food and a great view come here.
Good food, good staff, rude and unprofessional management
Brought a friend here for her birthday. Rang ahead to have a birthday plate arranged, was told to be sure to order desert and the plate would come. Desert came with no birthday plate to go with. Plate arrived 5-10mins later, after I had told friend that the plate never came. When paying I said that I was unhappy with the situation as this was not what I had been told on the phone, manager told me that I was "wrong" and "could not possibly have been told this". I requested that the desert be removed from the bill as I only ordered desert for the birthday surprise. Management refused and suggested that the service charge be removed instead if we were unhappy with the service. Rude and unprofessional manner, left a sour taste on the whole experience. Will not be returning in a hurry.
Very good first time I have had duck for breakfast it was very good.
Simply superb views from the 40th floor. Staff are very friendly. Expensive, but worth it for special occasions. Amazing food.
The staff is very rude and not professional ! There is not consideration for customers and Price is too expensive ...
One of my favourite restaurants in London, nice view, amazing duck on waffle, great service
Duck & Waffle has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember & I finally managed to score a booking this past weekend for a brunch slot. We got there & were seated on the west side of the floor space which doesn't have the best of views compared to the other sides but I guess it's a bit of a luck of the draw situation.
We thought the food was fantastic, portion sizes were great, service was top notch (thanks Julio) and they did everything they could to serve us despite it being pretty crowded. Views from the 40th floor of the financial district do not disappoint & it's a good idea to walk around a bit to try and explore the views.
Overall, very happy with my visit and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good view, a decent brunch & a unique experience in the Liverpool Street area.
Do not however recommend for a bottomless brunch as I don't think they've committed themselves to that aspect of the brunch industry as yet - still does feel a bit forced and "we are doing you a favor". Perhaps bottomless and luxury/premium are still concepts which don't meld well together.
Fantastic viewpoint... That's the highlight to this location... Although when it comes to food, vegetarians won't have much of an option available
This restaurant is the first place me and my partner went on a proper dinner date for my birthday. The service is exceptional. The food is incredible. We love visiting when we get the chance. The best tables are the ones for 2 by the More
Known as a must do when in London. Probably a bit overhyped but I enjoyed it. Amazing views though is very crowded. Good food but nothing that stands out above other places.
It s really crowded at night which it is supposed to be but the staff does not pay attention to you otherwise it s good and a great view from top too
Good views. Wasnt a great vegetarian option , and the food was pricey for what is was.
Very nice view, food (duck burger, duck kebab, fries and banana waffles) were ok, small portions.
WoW Experience
We arrived at 9 pm and we were seated quickly. The plaice itself was warm very welcoming we sat by the window having a lovely view of the bridge at night which added to the setting and were given menus as soon we were seated the menus was not massive but varied enough plenty to pick from, from sharing plates to the large plate to chicken, lamb chops, pasta and various dishes all tastes buds would have Been happy with the choices on offer the Waiter Ricky was very pleasant and attentive explained that sadly that the Corn ribs was sold out but explained the other choices on offer and was very welcome he explained each dish and we placed our orders the meals arrived in good time, we had things like polenta, nduia bread and the signature dishes, we left there feeling pleasantly full and happy we could each another mouthful but the dessert menu did look very tempting,
Im sure we will visiting in the very near future
Excellent service, views and good food. Definitely need to visit.
Amazing scenery. The duck and waffle is okay, but you need to try the potatoes and steak tartare!! I d recommend ordering a variety of small plates rather than the duck and waffle. The photo is of the potatoes!
I've heard and read about this place from many people, so always wanted to try it. I was going more for the views than the actual food, but for my surprise, the food was actually the best part.
All dishes were very good so no complaints there.
The service, however, was very poor for a restaurant of this calliber.
From the first to the last person we interacted it was just one worse than the other. The lady that showed us to our table took 5 minutes to arrive, and just rolled her eyes when the host asked her to take us to our table. No hello or anything, she just handed us menus.
5 minutes later some guy appeared making sarcastic comments and asking if we wanted water. That never arrived... So we asked another waiter, which finally brought it.
From ordering the meal, the drinks that were later on forgotten again and having to beg someone to give us the bill, this has been a poor experience.
On top of that, one has a 13% charge added to the bill for that kind of "service".
We loved having breakfast here! The staff were friendly and the service very good. The ambience was relaxed yet elegant, and with impressive views!
Amazing views, unmatched customer service, delicious food and good prices. Came here for breakfast and had the duck and waffle. The food was fresh, well presented and flavours complemented eachother. Will definitely be returning again.
Very nice location, on top of the Heron Tower, great ambiance, lovely bar and good restaurant room. The food is interesting, although not the kind of stuff I would go for very often.
Absolutely delicious and incredible views. Difficult to find the entrance door on the lower level outside. Small sign.
Great views over London, good food and reasonable prices. The eponymous dish is highly recommended. Reservation recommended.
The food was great, and portion sizes were okay. Nothing special though. I think only double seats get the window view (which makes sense). The staff were nice, and so was the atmosphere, though it was a bit too loud since it is quite crowded. It took a long time for our food to come, and the rabbit dish came when we had almost finished our food. It's a nice restaurant, but in my opinion, a little overhyped.
very perfect place to eat wafle ...do you know somthig this is the best place and delicious eggs i ate in my life
Brilliant food and outstanding service.
The stunning view with courtesy.
The only issue is, you must pay the premium for this dinner.
We wanted to reserve a table here to have dinner there during our vacation. Unfortunately we did not receive an email or an SMS. Our telephone demand was stalled.
Excellent food, superb service, great ambiance. Very highly recommended!
My friend and I went there to have a drink and food. We asked for the menu and it is as if that waiter (and his colleague) were trying to NOT serve us. He did not even looked at my friend (and the other one barely). So we took the menu ourselves. We waited for almost 30 minutes with no one coming to take our order despite the fact that we called the man twice. On one of those two times, the waiter said that the other waiter would come >>> He never did!!! Other clients had their order taken and were served in the meantime. This place is a disgrace for our city (!!!!!) this type of service should not exist here! I know what is good service as I live in London and regularly go out. I would not even suggest you to improve your service. Just teach your staff how to tell to unwanted people to leave. This would save us time!!! You should be ashamed for being so disrespectful! So after those almost 30 minutes of waiting for nothing we decided to leave and go to a more welcoming place.
Extremely nice place. Excellent view. Food was ok. Nothing special.
Fantastic lunch. Great view of C.London. Food was outstanding and service impeccable. Very reasonably priced too.
Duck & Waffle is amazing and an absolute must if your looking for something quirky and different in London! I had heard some amazing reviews so made a reservation (bit of a wait) so make sure to book. I had the signature duck and waffle dish was surprising good and a few side dishes (all are good to share). Just be aware this is an expensive dinner but the views and food make it worth it!
Lovely place with an amazing view! There's a bar and restaurant so you can decide to just have drinks or eat. The food is delicious - worth every pound spent there. The staff take care of you the whole time and are able to answer any questions. It is more of a sharing plate place even though you'll just want everything for yourself. Get the duck and waffle...
The combination of duck legs and muffins is unexpectedly delicious, and the price is not too expensive (considering the 40F landscape), plus the 24-hour business hours, it is very convenient for tourists.
As for the shortcomings, it is difficult to book a seat. I am lucky enough to book a weekday afternoon in a week ago. If it is a hot time, I recommend that you advance one month in advance. It should also be noted that emails will be reconfirmed a few days after the reservation and before meals. If the plan has not changed, remember to reply.
Great experience, food didn't live up my expectation but I guess you are paying for the view.
Great view but limited menu coupled with pretty mediocre service made my experience very disappointing. Without the view this restaurant would struggle. Seemed to bring individual dishes to the table when cooked rather than together so everyone eats slightly staggered! ...call me old fashioned but I like to eat with the people on my table!! Luckily London has lots of restaurants better than the D&W.
The night view is beautiful, the food is creative, the taste is especially delicious, it is suitable for parties or dating
I love Duck & waffle. Since I am in London I have been there a lot. The view is amazing. The staff is super nice. The food has a good price value for such a venue. I was positive surprised that with covid nothing of these things have changed. However I was negative surprised by the people visiting it. The simple protection for each other wearing a mask seems to pretty hard for some human beings. While all the staff wear a mask most customer did not wear a mask. Not when they entered , not when they were going to the toielttees. It felt like they completely ignored that covid exists. After asking one of the staff they said the people say they are exempted and they cant do anything about it. So that have been then about 70% of the people in there - seems a bit odd to me . There is not too much space at the venue so therefore the tables are not super far from each other. Simply wearing a mask cant be so hard, or can it ?
Restaurant with nice view but food is not how it should be in that price range. Been there once would not come again...
Not bad, mostly good to high quality food and drink. Views are ok but you dont really get a clear view.
Unique experience with a beautiful view and great menu.
If you'd like to impress visitors than this is a good place to go. Great views and our breakfast was excellent. Service however was a bit slow and could have been a bit more attentive.
Stunning views of the city plus prices were not that high. Size of main dish was enough (we had to take the last piece of roast chicken back home) and the taste was really good.
Amazing location, breathtaking view and delicious food!
I wanted to take my family somewhere for an unforgettable breakfast and they couldn t get anything better!
Finally a cappuccino in London worthy of the name, eggs cooked to perfection and delicious waffles.
Eventually, I was expecting to leave a big part of my salary but I was pleasantly surprised: considering the location, the quality of the food and the impeccable service, the amount we paid was absolutely fair!
It's okay.. the view is very nice, food is acceptable, and the staff are exceptionally professional.. but it's quite a small place, and it gets really crowded.. so we couldn't sit around with drinks after the meal.. it was basically order, eat, pay, go~
Good food but nothing original. Great views though.
Didn't book a table but was given a window table on arrival! Great service
Been here a couple of times and always enjoy it, seeing the views of London and having a bit of glamour, but often it does feel as though you're being rushed and not overly welcome.
Whilst the food is tasty and very well presented, you are paying for the surroundings - there are better breakfast options out there in terms of taste.
I would say that this is a good place for a one-off or when you have people visiting that you want to give a good impression of London.
Love breakfast with a view. Cool place to impress your mates!
The waffle was crisp yet fluffy, and the duck skin delicately crisp, floating on a layer of rendered fat. When I combined the duck, waffle and mustard maple syrup, it was heaven. The cornbread was pretty good too ;) would definitely come again, and I hear they're open 24 hours!
View is nice but the food is sub par and not even close to worth what they charge
Absolutely my favourite place to eat in London. From the journey up to the 40th floor in the glass lift, to the panoramic view from the restaurant, I love everything about this place. The staff are friendly and knowledgable, and there are some really interesting things on the menu - try the foie gras all day breakfast and you'll see what I mean. It's open 24/7 too - so you can enjoy it anytime!
Fab food! Breath taking views all round a great experience!
24hr restuarant, that's hard to find in London. Every other restaurant is done before midnight. amazing views & food.
Always wanted to come even though I've had the feeling that I won't enjoy it as much because it's been hyped up alot. Well I'm mistaken and it deserves the praise. Tender and succulent duck, cripsy waffle and an amazing sauce to drizzle on!
Cleanest one so far. Service is not bad. Food is pretty good.
It starts with a glass lift ride to the 40th floor at the Heron Tower. It doesn't stop there - the restaurant itself gives you a panoramic view of London. Depending on when you go, the atmosphere is busy but friendly. For my main I chose the signature dish 'Duck & Waffle' (gluten free) which was superb. I also had the 'Baked Alaska' for dessert which was amazing. If you're into cocktails try the 'Damp Negroni'. The restaurant is expensive but as a treat this place gets my vote. I recommend booking in advance and enjoy the experience.
Very approching waiter Alex very friendly and he gave s us good service Mitzi
We didn't make a reservation a head of time, so we had some breakfast drinks at the bar instead. Next time, we will think ahead and go to the restaurant. We had a mimosa, a latte and some pastries and I think it was $70 Canadian. Which made it our holiday splurge meal. Totally worth it
The name of the restaurant says it all. You come for the duck, and you're not leaving without the waffle.
Almost every dish served here revolve around the duck. If you don't like duck or height (40th floor panoramic view), don't come here.
At the onset, it may look like the dishes are deep fried and greasy. Once you take a bite of the food, you will realize that it is so delicious that you're willing to shorten your lifespan for it.
So slather that cup of maple syrup onto the waffle. Why even pretend like you care about your health?
Beware the potentially long line waiting to get into the building. It is best to come here after 2am and only if you have an empty stomach.
The view is outstanding, top of the city. The food is okay according to price. The people were much friendlier in the past, but still it worth the location
After hearing so much about this place, I was ecstatic to visit. On the 40th floor of a high rise in the London financial district, the restaurant has panaromic views of the city. We attended for Saturday brunch but I assume the sunrise and late night views would be better. My partner and I were offered a window seat which we were happy to accept. The service team was exceptional from start to finish. Every member knew the intricacies of the menu very well and were not shy to offer their recommendations but without being too aggressive. The bartender has concocted a masterpiece of a mocktail for my partner and I, no justice would be served from attempting to explain what it was so you'll have to see the photos for proof - but it was extraordinary.
Special occasion and was made to feel that way. Food was good, attention to detail and really great service. We arrived on time and our table wasn't ready for at least 15-20mins.
This place is amazing. The views of London are the best I've seen. The signature dish lived up to the hype. I think that's the only dish worth having though..give the dessert a miss. I've been here a couple of times. It's really important to book in advance or they won't let you in even if they're not busy inside. A little troublesome but worth it.
