Drs. Hall &Szeto Optometry Review

I have been going to Hall & Szeto Optometry for many years, dating back to when it was Hall & Chu. I have always found the staff to be very professional, friendly, and helpful. I have never been pressured to buy anything and the staff has always taken whatever time necessary to help me select the perfect glasses. Dr. Hall is awesome. He patiently answers my endless questions each year when I have my eye exams and always indulges my request to email me the photos he takes of the inside of my eyeballs. I can't think of anywhere else I would ever go for eye exams or glasses.

Glad I found this amazing place. They have cool collection of frames. Stylish and affordable. Highly recommended

I used to get my prescription from Hall & Szeto before I had my lasik surgery. They have huge selections of sunglasses, frames with the reasonable price. The staff are friendly. It is a great time to purchase a new frame during the trunk show. Even I do not need prescription lens anymore, I still go there to get the sunglasses.

I am normally a fan of Drs. Hall & Szeto Optometry so this is an isolated experience but it was enough of a mix-up that it needed to be shared. I had an appointment on April 1. At that time, I went to order contacts and was told that my insurance covered it all. Hall & Szeto left me a voicemail the next day (April 2) and told me that there was a mix-up and my contacts were not in fact covered in full. That in itself was expected - I had actually been a bit surprised that they had told me it was fully covered. I called back the same day to approve going forward with the contact order and asked if I should pay now or when I picked up the contacts. The receptionist told me I could pay when I picked them up. It is now April 15 and I called Hall & Szeto asking about my contact order. This time the receptionist told me they still had in their computer that they were waiting for my confirmation to order the contacts following the April 2 voicemail. She also told me that Hall & Szeto wouldn't order without pre-payment. In short, whomever I talked to the first time 1) Gave me wrong information, 2) Failed to update the electronic records and 3) Failed to order my contacts as requested. I'm really disappointed in their service this time around. Next time, I will remember to confirm all the information I am given by their staff.

I love this place. Staff is so friendly and helpful. I was able to visit during COVID and I felt very safe and comfortable.

I absolutely LOVE Hall & Szeto. When I moved to SF I found an optometrist in the city, and was constantly coming back to try and find the right prescription. I decided to branch out and try Hall & Szeto, and in one visit they were able to find the exact right prescription for me, and help me out with all of my eye related questions. They are extremely friendly and professional, and helped me pick out the BEST glasses I've ever purchased. I will never go anywhere else, and recommend Hall & Szeto to anyone looking for a new optometrist.

Wow, I've just realized that I've been going to Dr. Hall for over 30 years... several locations, different generations of soft contacts & backup glasses. I've also seen Dr. Szeto, Dr Ha and Dr Vu, and all of them have done a great job dealing with my specific vision requirements and performing a fairly long exam each year.

I'm blind as a stump (blinder than a bat, in other words) so they have to hunt around for contacts that work for me - but they have always found them, and I'll always go back. Any time a new contact didn't feel right or sit right, they always kept going back to the manufacturer until they got it right. I used to need specialized prescription that was not available "off the shelf", so if there were a manufacturing defect, they had to get a new one made. Never any extra cost to me. They are thorough, patient and never rushed.

My glasses have all possible treatments applied, from anti-glare to the thing that makes them less than an inch thick on the sides. Recently they agreed to do bifocals for me in relatively small frames, though they were unsure I would like the result - and they came out great. I like their selection of frames, though I find it breathtaking what frame manufacturers think they should charge.

They process VSP, which is nice, so it's not as pricey as in the olden days before I was insured for vision.

Great service, great location. Worth traveling across the bay for me.

Drs. Hall & Szeto Optometry is a great place. I will never go anywhere else for my annual exam or to purchases glasses. The staff is great and works to meet the deadlines of the clients. Much appreciated.

I've purchased 3 pair of glasses here and the service is very good. Their selection of frames is excellent. I had a problem with one pair of glasses and they took care of replacing the glasses promptly, without any hassle.

Dr. Szeto rocks! She takes the time to listen my issues, and informs me about the various options I have. I never feel rushed there, as one tends to feel at many doctor's office. Plus, her office runs very efficiently-- my appointments are always on time.

Had such a good experience during my annual visit. I was a bit skeptical just because mist of my medical experiences in the bay have been less than desirable. This place was clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. My prescription didn't change but I felt at ease and didn't feel like I needed to buy a bunch of stuff or mortgage my life for new glasses which is always a plus!

Another optician referred us here to get my wife's glasses fixed while we were on vacation. They said "Mike" is the McGyver of glasses repair. Sure enough he fixed them. No charge. And the French woman graciously entertained us with conversation about different cities in the US we both had experience with. Oh, and they have a great selection and wise range of prices. My favorite are Lindberg.

This is my one stop shop for eyecare and eyewear. I've been a customer for several years and the customer service has never changed from excellent. The doctors to the staff are thorough and friendly. I can always what I'm looking for and if not, they'll get it for me. Check them out and ask to see Dr. Ha.

I've been a long-time patient of Dr. Hall. It is the longest-lived medical relationship I have had. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy and have the highest confidence in the care I receive.

Easy to make an appointment. Great service and a beautiful selection of glasses. After my visit with the Dr the staff were very helpful in helping me select a pair of glasses. I picked them up this week, and I have never received so many compliments about a new pair of glasses. They really helped me make a great decision.

Superb service. I was greeted immediately. Minimal wait time for my tests. Each test was explained clearly. Dr. Szeto is very professional. Guided me through the entire exam, explaining each step as we went along. Also discussed her findings in terms I could understand.

The staff made sure I found frames that met my needs. They helped me get a good fit, and even cleaned all of my old eyeglasses.

I saw Dr. Malik for my first eye exam in a few years. She was thorough and efficient and I'll definitely return. I think some might find her style too direct and to-the-point; I personally appreciate this, but those who need coddling might look elsewhere. When Dr. Malik wasn't herself sure of something she spotted in my dilated eye, she asked Dr. Vu to come and consult; this speaks to their patient-first attitude. Kathryn, the lovely French eyeglass assistant, has great style and was quite helpful. I have VSP so paid for very little.

Nancy was the sweetest and helped me immediately. I could tell she really cared . I m on vacation and was down to my last pair of contact lens and was helped in no time , the level of customer service is outstanding at hall and Szeto.
