Went late night last night into the city to see the tree. It's 3 days b4 Christmas. The tree was not lit. Very disappointing. I remember driving thru there when I was 18, at 3 am, and the tree would be shining bright. What happened? This ruined the whole trip for the kids.

You have experience the lights the rocketts and if you like history take the tour. Great places to eat in NY found wonderful Cuban restaurant called Havana central incredibly reasonable prices.
Loved NBC studios. And the Rockettes Chrismas show was Spectacular. Enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the Frozen light show on the back of the SAKS building.
Come to the Rockefeller for a killer view!!! "TOP of the ROCK" was such a great experience. The view was gorgeous and there is so much space to walk around. You can view from inside or outside, upstairs and downstairs. Definitely worth the price.
All these years I have been watching Rockefeller Center on television and movies. It has always been on the list of places to visit while in New York. I was finally able to do so on bus tour with my job. This was one of our walking stops. It was a brisk nippy Sunday. The sun was shining but it was also windy and the first thing that catches your eye is the flags of many nations flying. I was surprised to see that Rockefeller Center is actually smaller than it looks on tv. It looks huge but in actuality it is kind of small. Very beautiful but small. You start to feel very American standing there looking at it. The statues, the sculptures and the tall buildings add to the allure of it all.
It was extremely crowded to me for a Sunday but then again this is New York. They are constantly on the move and never ever not busy. The ice skating rink was the coolest thing to see. We got group pictures and walked around the block. Across the street is NBC and of course the place where they film The Today Show. That was a kool thing to see as well.
Better than the ESB because at the top of the rock you can take a photo of the ESB. Quite long queues but week managed. Took us quite a long time to get out though.
Even though we were like a pack of sardines in this crowd, literally, it was a wonderful experience.. Good vibes all the way around..2020 New year's experience
Fun place to hang out with tourists. Check out the annual Christmas tree lighting, which is a big event. Also there are lots of over the top holiday light displays on nearby avenues. But don t plan on getting anywhere quickly when it s holiday season. The tourists clog the sidewalks.
VERY Busy- everybody wants to look at the lights. But everybody stops in the middle of walking and forgets other people are around. Move Off to the side!!! We had a great time and enjoyed the lights and businesses, only bad thing was the wait for the ice rink was 2hr.
The tree is beautiful! Just really crowded and there s 5 blocks of road that is closed! There s a line to get into any of the stores and the traffic is horrible, but that New York. I guess I expected something better for the holidays with the lights, but it s not well taking care of and people throw their trash everywhere. People fight to take pictures with the tree and overpriced cost of balloons. But I tried chestnuts, they are actually super good!
Shop till you drop. Or just window shop like most people because the stuff here is likely expensive as heck. Definitely a cool experience seeing all the big brand named stores. Worth checking out for anyone. Would highly recommend. Just be prepared for busy sidewalks and the endless road range of horns blaring in the background.
Book a table at Bar SixtyFive and enjoy a cocktail with a view at the price of a cocktail. This is my little tip to avoid the queue and the fee for the top of the Rock
Iconic New York landmark Beautiful looking structure built as a complex of buildings not just the one tower Set back 50 yards off 5th Avenue Possible to book to go up to observation deck for views across the city
What can I say about this place? It's magical. I don't think anyone has truly experienced Christmas until they've come here during the holidays. I used to go ice skating here on Christmas Day because it was my birthday and one of the few places that was open. A lot of New York has changed, but this one little corner of Manhattan will never disappoint. Additionally, St Patrick's Cathedral is breathtakingly beautiful. I cannot imagine visiting Manhattan at Christmas time, with all the lights, the glitter and the magic without visiting this holy place that's so beautifully commemorates the reason for the season.
Went in the early spring season so the famous Christmas tree was already taken off, nonetheless the ice rink was still there and fully utilized and full. It's an absolutely charming, classy, and historically rich location. The only way to understand the history behind the sculptures and its founders is to take the rockefeller tour which can be bought from the "At the Top" ticket desk.
Great place to visit. I'd advise going here instead of the empire state building. I've done both, the advantage of empire state though is the great view towards Manhattan as the sunsets and you're going to wait for that to happen. Both are good, if you have time do both.
Really no matter what establishment you visit within the complex, it is always an exceptional experience. Clean, orderly and exciting. It is a must see if you're in Manhattan. It is Manhattan's business center away from Wall Street. Rockefeller Center is an American institution, and should be on everyone's list when visiting the Big Apple.
Loved the history and magnificence of the buildings. The view from the "Top of the Rock" was amazing. Great coffee downstairs under the main street level!
What can I say, this place is amazing. Most people miss the underground experience, don't. Strolling around the maze beneath the city is well worth it.
Always good to get down here for Christmas. Expect it to be very busy with mostly tourists. If you look online you can get reasonable parking garages nearby. Just book them on whatever app there affiliated with. A lot of high end stores nearby so can be very pricy
Rockefeller Center is a large complex consisting of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres (89,000 m2) between 48th Street and 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The 14 original Art Deco buildings, commissioned by the Rockefeller family, span the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue, split by a large sunken square and a private street called Rockefeller Plaza. Later additions include 75 Rockefeller Plaza across 51st Street at the north end of Rockefeller Plaza, and four International Style buildings located on the west side of Sixth Avenue.
The Rockefeller Center, its a lot fun and Exciting to see people having a good time, with family, or friends, and if this is your first time visiting New York City, this would be one of the places to visit, it has a vibe that can be felt, when you walk through the plaza, people are taking pictures of the people skating at the ice rink, the ice rink. is a must to try Skateing on ice is very. first-time to try it out, its different from Roller Blading in the City Park's, on side walks, or Roller Rinks, where you are skating on hard wood floors. Ice is much different from Roller Blading. So take your chance try it out, you would enjoy, going around on ice, once you get the hang of it, so go for it you enjoy yourselves.!!
I have to say that I have been wanting to go to this area for quite some time. Now there is plenty to do here, shopping, site seeing, food. Also the Top of the Rock is awesome, I will suggest to make a reservation so you won't have to wait in line. Now for shopping, there is a lot of high end department stores. What's also awesome about this location is that it isn't too far away from other sites. Really glad I came here. Also for the ice skating is affordable.
I have visited Rockerfell Center on many occasions and I must say I'm amazed with how it's changed for different seasons! This time it was a beautiful garden cafe!! The ambiance was gorgeous!!
I was there on a Girls trip during Christmas. It was so beautiful and so much fun. It was cold, but we bundled up and stayed warm. The tree and the skating rink are magical. We had a great time at the Today Show and attended a taping of the Megyn Kelly show.
Awesome place. Romantic atmosphere. After visiting here, you might feel how New York is a wonderful city which has a warm hearted landmark. Highly recommended
I really liked the atmosphere of the square. Very nice decoration. When I went in mid-October, the ice rink was already installed. There are some gardens (the Christmas tree wasn't there yet :( ), a fountain and seats (ideal to wait until your reserved time comes to climb the Top of the Rock). When I went there was an exhibition of antique cars, really wonderful! Impossible not to pass by and take pictures.
If you're ever in NYC over Christmas, this area needs to be on your "Must Visit" list. What crazy place, it's beautiful, crowded, hustle, bustle and spectacular all in one. It's the magnificent tree, the skating rink, the fountain, the crowds all doing something with or without someone. It really is worth the experience. Enjoy we certainly did.
One of the historical symbol of Manhattan and NYC. Rockfeller Center is an iconic building skyscraper just very close to Times Square and Bryant Park. Inside Rockfeller Center there is a big underground shopping center with many restaurants, fast foods, apparel, clothing stores. Rockfeller Center is very famous for its Top of the Rock Observatory Deck on which you can admire a stunning view of NYC skyline, with a fantastic view on Central Park and Empire State Building. I suggest to visit Top of the Rock just before sunset to really admire an amazing view of Manhattan.
Great destination in December if you don't mind crowds. The streets and many great stores decorated for the holidays in Midtown Manhattan, small skating rink, and of course, the famous large NY Christmas tree.
Seriously one of the best views in the entire city. You get an excellent view of Central Park, Times Square, Empire State Building, and both sides of the river! I would definitely consider coming here on your next trip!
Great place to go to around the Christmas holidays. It is busy and very crowded but worth it. The light show near by is also fantastic. I highly highly recommend if you are visiting NYC for the Christmas holidays.
It great to be in New York during the holidays, the tree was awesome as always. We walked around the crowd was large but orderly. After seeing the tree we went inside to warm up and walk around the rock.
Great Christmas atmosphere. New York at this time of year not complete without a visit to 30 Roc. Tree, ice rink. Concourse and street level shops, decorated decorated commercial declared commercial buildings along 6th Ave make this a destination stop
