Absolutely the worst service. We called ahead and were told to walk in for a bar top table. Upon arrival we were refused service and told that there were no seats available, but we could wait if we wanted . Literally no customer service. Just rudeness from the two girls at redemption. We decided to wait and ultimately ordered take out. After about 15 minute another 2 couples walked in and asked is the bar available where they were told sure, go on in! After we were appalled and said your kidding me right? We were told some seat had opened up. We walked in and no kidding folks. There were 10 seats available at the bar! No joke! 10!!! The drink I finally got with luke warm service was delicious and the food smells good, guess we will see when we get back to the room! Not a friendly place, not customer focused, staff is dismissive and rude, we will never go back!

Every employee is spot on! Glenn the GM is running the best new restaurant in Dallas! The fried chicken was amazing! My wife had a steak and it was great too. The attention detail and service at this place is amazing! Think Pappas steak house meets Bobs with with customer service of SWA, enterprise rent a car and Chic Fila thrown into an old school Hollywood bar! We will be back often!

Went to Drake's for the first time last night for dinner. The decor is very elegant and classy and reminds me of Hollywood glam! My most favorite part was sipping on the very creative cocktails while enjoying the ambiance. The food was phenomenal (I highly recommended the Fillet Jerry Weintraub). The hostess was incredibly nice and accommodating and the waitstaff was very attentive and great with recommendations. I was so impressed I stopped by the hostess to book a second reservation!

I would skip this place and be careful that even if you call and cancel, they'll charge your credit card $75 if it's not prior to 24 hours. They won't even apply it towards a future visit or anything. Not worth it at all. There are plenty of other respectable places in Dallas who don't have such policies. If you need better recommendations, please message me and I'll share a lot more better places.

I wasn t sure what to expect from the outside... We were celebrating our first anniversary and my wife s daughter had recommended Drakes. When we stepped in we were transported in time to the fifties. Sunday and Monday are jazz nights. David, at the back, sounded exactly like Frank Sinatra. We sat at the bar and enjoyed perfectly prepared vodka martinis. We were at our table quicker than we expected. My steak au poivre was just the way I like it. My wife s white fish over spinach was everything she hoped. We topped off our celebration with a combination creme brulee bananas foster that was wonderful! We can t wait to go back!

I made a reservation 2 weeks ahead, and then received a text message a few hours before my reservation because of "overbooking". When I called the restaurant to get a better understanding, and reschedule their manager Emily hung up on in my face. Once I called again another manager named Glen was just as incompetent. SO RUDE! Also, my friend made a reservation yesterday and it was honored and not canceled.

A really fun environment. We went on a Sunday night and enjoyed the live jazz. We tried a couple different cocktails and they were all delicious. I had the filet scarlet, I m still thinking about it( it was that good). The balsamic burrata was so refreshing and light. It was the perfect appetizer before my steak. Everything went perfect throughout the night. The waiting staff and everybody else were accommodating and nice. We will definitely be coming back.

Upon entering the hostess walked us to the second entry door into the restaurant, then stopped and told us we couldn t get in because our shoes went against dress code. Although we both had on designer sandals. We went to the car and found shoes and were able to enter with vans and nike free runs on as opposed to Tory Burch sandals. Not sure what kind of dress code this was. Once inside we noticed that almost every female in the restaurant has on sandals identical to the ones we had one. The only difference between us and them you might ask ? We were BLACK! It s very disheartening and disappointing that they have staff like this working the door. To blatantly discriminate, hoping we didn t have any other shoes and would be forced to cancel our reservation. Other people have claimed to have issues with this same hostess as well and something needs to be done about it.

My wife and I went for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time. Excellent customer service from the valet Jose to the delicious food, drinks, and desert to the friendly atmosphere of our waiter Ivan. He made sure were always taken care of and made us feel special on our special night. Definitely a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend this place. Price is definitely well worth the food, drinks, and service. $$$

Drakes is so much fun, the atmosphere and feel is fantastic. Also in dallas as a vegetarian/vegan I struggle finding things I like. They have 3 great dishes that are vegan and great enough to make me what to keep coming back. They have dishes that have veggie protein like gardein. So excited to have another great place to frequent in dallas.

I ate here last weekend with a couple of pals for the big 50! I was so excited to share a life milestone with a few close pals and heard amazing reviews. However, after 45 minutes to get our starters I waited another hour for our mains. My steak was ice cold. I told the waitress and she proceeded to touch my steak with her hand telling me it was fine and to quit complaining. I am not coming back anytime soon.

Very very nice setting...can be a date night or can be a random Thursday evening with friends. Blended atmosphere (as far as ethnicity), great food, strong drinks lol, and very friendly waiters. The only reason for 4 stars is the bartender wasn't super attentive, but it's still a great place!

I don t know why it s hard to get a reservation here. It s nothing special. If you re trying to get a last minute table, you re out of luck. Tell them you re a celebrity, a food critic, celebrating a special occasion, or perhaps, drop a Benjamin, but no; bribery will not fly here. I got the impression that this restaurant was trying to create a nonexistent hype. I m sorry, but you are not going to be the next Lucia (for those of you that don t know, that is one of the hardest restaurants in the Dallas area to get a reservation, rightfully so due to the demands, food and impeccable service). Anyways, the earliest I could book a reservation was a week out, and that was on a Sunday at 9:30pm. We arrived promptly at 9:30pm, and immediately when we were seated, the waitress told us they close the kitchen AND the restaurant at 10pm. Seriously?!? Why even make a 9:30pm reservation an option? It typically takes 10 minutes to scope out the menu and ask questions before determining what you want to order. Prior to that, you want to sit down and enjoy a refreshing, alcoholic beverage with some friendly banter, for let s say, 10 mins or so. That's 20 minutes spent settling in at the restaurant and how much time did we have to eat? NONE! We had ordered bulk loads of food for two, including the Balsamic Burrata, General TSO s Cauliflower, Classique Mac n Cheese, Vegan Gardein Pizza, the Rib Eye, and a drink each for the two of us. The food came out rather quickly but we had no more than 3-4 minutes to enjoy it before the waitress brought our check while the other workers were clearing tables and cleaning up, hindering that fact to get the f*** out. We were so rushed that we only got a tasting of what we ordered, which was good, but it sucked that we had to bring ALL that food packed back to our home. By the time we got home, the food was cold and we didn t get to enjoy the items as we liked. One of the worse dinning experiences a foodie can ever encounter!

We had our friends Christmas get together tonight. The food is Awesome! However, we had reservations for 6 had we were squeezed into a 4 top with a chair in the very narrow walkway. I had to go to the bar to get my drink after the waiter delivered some of the tables drinks totally ignoring me. The wait for drinks was very long (20-30 minutes)Then our reassigned waiter apologizeD IF our tickets were not right. The current rating of 4.1 is highly overrated!

I love the decor and it's a cool place to hang out with friends, BUT...we left after one drink. I asked for a slightly dirty martini and paid $16 before taxes/tip to get barely half a martini. When I asked the bartender to fill the glass, he said he could add olive juice. Ummm no. That would make my slightly dirty martini very dirty. I just want the full martini I paid for! Also, the blue cheese olives are from a jar and tasted like it! Disappointing.

A group of us went last night for the first time. LOVED IT! If you want a table on the weekend, book well in advance. It's a small place, holds less than 100 people and has a wonderful bar area. The atmosphere is great; red leather booths, swanky, old Hollywood vibe. The food was fantastic! Our group ordered a mix; the honey truffle chicken, steaks, lobster mac, wedge salad, general tso's cauliflower, mushrooms and the giant cotton candy in a martini glass with a roman candle thing in it. There was a DJ and he was really good, as well. One thing, I spoke with Emily when I called and she was so eager to tell me that there was a "strict dress code"...that was definitely BS. It's your standard Dallas attire at a steak house. There were men and women both in jeans, people in tshirts, jean shorts, a hoodie sweatshirt...etc. However, they did draw the line at a guy trying to walk in and pick up his to-go pizza, with flip flops on. He paid the valet to borrow his shoes while he went inside to get his pizza .

This "Hollywood jaunt" is as uninspired and bland as the rest of Pond's endeavors. One can only try to emulate others so much and achieve sustainable success. The lack of authenticity is staggering. One can expect to leave Drake's with the same feeling as one leaves Pond's other counterfeit eatery The Hudson House, heisted, expecting the Upper East Side but receiving Murray Hill. The steaks were bland, the oysters stale, and the atmosphere possessed a misplaced air of pretentiousness that could be cut with one of the restaurants tacky steak knives.

I have to give a huge compliment to Ben (Benjamin) for making our anniversary dinner so special. The pace of the service was great, the food suggestions were perfect, and he was wonderful in offering to take our photo when our sparkler dessert arrived! Cheers to a first visit and can t wait to return!

I tried this place out on a recommendation from a friend. It's unbelievable. By far the best bar South of Northwest Highway & North of Mockingbird in all of Dallas. The cuisine offerings are steak & pizza. The music is entirely relevant & the vibe is nothing less than 2020. Highly recommended.

Okay, let me just say this loud enough for the people in back... this was one of the best overall meals I ve had this year and for the last few years. Bob s is great, Drake s is a level up... the Chinese rib appetizer was beyond delicious and likely the best flavored ribs I ve ever had, sides were delicious and my rib eye was amazing. I am abundantly pleased with my dining experience here tonight and this was a post Xmas meal with my parents who spent the holiday apart from me and flew in today... my Dad travels and eats a lot of good meals and he was completely impressed. Great work guys! And the ambiance is so modern retro Hollywood style... we loved it!! Jack was our server, and shout out to him for his impeccable service.

Poor management with no values. We were refused service based on being rude but, we were calm. Many large parties were seated before that were not of color. Glen is the worst GM. Be aware you may get your car wrecked by valet but they won t tell you. And if you black and not seated don t ask why the delay because Glen will run and have you removed.

I wish i could give it 3.5...3 seems too low but 4 seems too high. The atmosphere is great. Very pretty inside. The drinks were good as well. The food was definitely lacking. We got the BBQ salmon and White Fish Piccata and was very underwhelming. I would say a majority of people got pizza which did look good but I was under the impression it was a steakhouse. I would go back for a cocktail and try the pizza.

This is the most pretentious restaurant i have ever been in. Well, most pretentious in the sense that it was so clearly trying to be something that it is not. This restaurant gives off a poor man's Craig's in Hollywood vibe and seemed to cater to a similar type of clientele. You know those kinds of people? The one's that are all talk and no walk? Anyway, that is Drake's in a nutshell.
The week's leading up to the opening, and then the past week, all i could here about was how it was the best new restaurant in Dallas. To those of you who say that: are you used to eating dog food? The steak was mediocre (which is unacceptable in Texas and for the $$$) the mac and cheese lifeless; and the vegan garden pizza, tasted like cardboard. This is the first restaurant that has prompted me to leave a review but it was that disappointing. There are much better restaurants in Dallas
And a suggestion to owner -- get over yourself.

I really enjoyed my dinner and experience at Drake's last night! I loved the atmosphere, a central large bar/lounge area surrounded by red leather booths and caricature drawings. The food was great and at a price point that is very reasonable. Our waiter was enthusiastic and attentive! I'll be back:)

Went there last night. This is definitely NOT the place to go if social distancing is your top priority. It was Tuesday night at 7:30 and every single table was filled. All the patrons wore masks to tables and to restroom. Valet and hosts all were masked. The manager (owner?) was not wearing his mask. I was relieved he did not stop at our table to chat. The servers were not wearing them correctly. Part of the issue seems to be that the music is so loud and then patrons can't hear them talking. I love loud music but perhaps it could be taken down just a few clicks for the safety of everyone. A small change that matters to many. The food and drinks were both delicious. I had the honey truffle chicken. I usually never order chicken at restaurants but it sounded too good to pass up.. The portion was huge and I am excited to have leftovers. We also got the brussel sprouts and peanut butter pie to share for dessert. This restaurant just opened 6 months ago. The vibe is old Hollywood.

We went to Drakes to do curbside during the shelter in place order in Dallas. We have been to many different restaurants during this time who have done it right . Drakes needs to reevaluate their policy during this time . Servers come right up to your car door and there are 6- 10 people standing out front close to each other waiting for food , you might as well be in the restaurant together. Thankful they are open and hoping to support this industry that needs our help at this time , but it needs to be done right . We ordered at 7:50 they said it would be ready at 8:20 and an hour later we still haven t gotten the two salads we ordered !! Maybe entrees take longer , but two salads ?!?!

**Long Review**

**Long Review**
I've been coming to this restaurant for a while now. It's become one of my favorites due to the customer service, food, and ambience. The lowest priced full entree besides a salad and the pizza (I think that's 14 or 18?) is the honey Truffle chicken for around $24 I believe. It's delicious! Perfectly crisp, well seasoned, and a good portion size. I've also had their Jerry filet steak which was also delicious. It was tender and moist while being full of flavor. It also comes with a sauce on it I wasn't sure I'd like but it paired well. I have noticed the mashed potatoes are garlic HEAVY like so heavy they burn your tongue after a while.

The servers you get here can vary in experience, but everyone does a good job. If you like impeccable service, I'd suggest requesting Charlie when making your reservation. One night while I was dining, he wasn't my server yet took care of me out of the kindness of his heart. He noticed when my plate wasn't cleared, he noticed when I lacked silverware, and even inquired about dessert for me! I can only imagine how well he takes care of customers that are his. He noticed all of the small and large details which really turned my night around.

Glen, the manager, is also very nice and professional! I didn't realize anchovies came on their Cesar salad and he immediately fixed it without me asking. It's rare to see manager directly handle food and be hands on, but he did which I liked. He also corrected a previous ticket of mine that was charged incorrectly by a new server. This leads me to believe that if you're having a bad time, they will do everything they can to turn it around.

All in all this is a fantastic restaurant. It's great if you want to impress your date (they have complimentary valet and live music). It's also great for a late lunch. The earlier you go in the day, the emptier it is. When I went around 5ish, it was a ghost town with plenty of empty space. At night, it's pretty packed. If you have atleast $30 to spend, you can dine here, but please note, it can expensive VERY fast if you're not paying attention . For instance, I think dessert is 24 or 30 for a slice of cake BUT it's a HUGE chunk of cake with a large sparkler.

Also, I haven't had good experience with food to-go here. My food was all thrown haphazardly into the container with everything mixing together. That was gross, so maybe skip to-go ordering.

Well tonight was certainly one for the books and N...

Well tonight was certainly one for the books and NOT in a good way! This was my first experience at Drake s and will most certainly be my LAST! My friend made our reservation and was asked to pay a $25 reservation fee (no other restaurant in Dallas that I have ever been to has ever asked for such a thing). She arrived an hour before I did and met with another friend of ours. Upon my arrival, I ordered a special martini that our server didn t write down and needless to say was incorrect. Our server was delightful so I didn t bother correcting her and kept it anyways. We then ordered a bottle of wine and some appetizers for the table. As we began to look at the menu to order our meal, we were informed that we had exceeded our allotted time for our reservation of 2.5 hours and were asked to pay our check and leave. I was speechless!!! Why would ANY establishment ask a paying customer to leave bc they have exceeded their time limit on their reservation and keep in mind we are speaking about a SUNDAY evening. Upon making the reservation over the phone there was no time limit mentioned and had it been spoken to us at the table, we would have ordered our meal accordingly. When they send you the confirmation for your reservation, it does say a 2 hour limit, but how many of us check those emails and is it 2 hours or 2.5? I m confused now! I dine out frequently as a business owner myself with clients and partners and while some dinners may only last an hour, some may last 3 or 4. It is extremely poor practice to ask any customer to place a time limit in their dining experience. You are here for the customer, we are not here for you! If you would like to be know as a quick casual restaurant, you should advertise as such. Management leaves much to be desired and their are restaurants in the immediate area with a higher caliber of service. I would highly recommend Lover s seafood, Jose and Shinsei over Drake s any day of the week and would suggest you think twice before attending this establishment. It was an all around disappointment and an embarrassment to the reputable establishments in the area
