Dr Anson and his staff are the best the very best. Carry, Megan Doc treated me like I was the most important patient, though they have hundreds at a time. They care about you. So any negative comments are nonsense. Dr Anson tells you up front if he can help you or not. Both my husband and I have had multiple surgeries with Doc and he gave us both the best care ever. I have recommended his service to many of our friends. His practice has always been Stellar. Dianne Grabowski.

I have made multiple calls over the last two weeks to see Dr. Anson. For a doctor who only works 2 days a week, decides which cases he's going to take on his terms, and then never calls you back to let you know if he took the case or not. My life is more important to me than to be treated like this. Dr Anson and his staff have reaffirmed the lack of quality health care in the american health care system.

Worst experience as a new patient. I had brain surgery done in Cali, but live in Vegas and just needed an annual check up to see if a tumor would return. After getting referred by my eye doctor to go to Nevada Spine&Brain, I set up an appointment to the nearest slot open, which is one month. On the day of the appointment everything was fine with the nice staff, up to the point when I met Dr. Anson. His attitude toward me was terrible, speaking with a tone that made me feel dumb. After about a two minute conversation, where I try to explain my story and the reason why I was there, he gets mad at the fact that I had brain surgery done in Cali and tells me to go back to the Cali doctor, than kicks me out. Never told me my results and wasted my time, if he didn't want to take me as a patient than he should have said something sooner.

After seeing some negative reviews (???) of Dr. Anson, I had to relay to you my personal experiences with him over the years: In 2013 I was walking with a cane (maximum distance was 1/2 block) and in severe pain 24 hours per day mainly caused by sciatic pain going down both legs into my feet. He diagnosed my spinal problems at the L4/L5 & L3/L4 regions. He suggested I do try various physical treatments first before surgery and I said none of that had helped in the past and I refuse to live in any kind of drug-induced state. I wanted him to operate on both the L4/L5 & L3/L4 regions at the same time. He refused stating that would only do the worst first (L3/L4) and go from there...

He performed a laminectomy and a foraminotomy followed by the insertion of a 'coflex'. (Please research all 3 of these procedures !!!)

Once I awoke from the operation I was completely free of the pain that had debilitated me for over a decade. Within one hour I was walking. I felt as though I could have left the hospital right then and there but I heeded their advice and stayed overnight.

In 2016 the L4/L5 started to bother me. Back to Dr. Anson I went. He set up the next operation for 30 days later. This time it would only be for the coflex. I was operated on at 9 am and walked out of the hospital 2 hours later... My wife was still shopping was surprised she had to pick me up so soon. Now the only medication I take is for my blood pressure -- I am completely free of pain because of the surgical skills of Dr. Anson.

Dr. Anson was one of the first doctors in the US to use the coflex procedure -- It is a titanium 'spring-like' mechanism that gives you total mobility -- The way God made you! No cement, screws or rods which all eventually worsen your condition and increase your pain. Please research the horrendous drawbacks to these dark-ages procedures !!!

Dr. Anson is a highly renowned brain surgeon! I researched his creds before I first contacted him -- He was written up in the Las Vegas Review for the remarkable brain surgery he performed on a young girl involved in a plane crash -- His skills saved her life!

I recommended Dr. Anson to a friend, a dancer with a degenerative spinal condition. She could barely move her neck and was in constant pain. Her recovery took longer -- about a week -- but the results were the same; she is pain free and has complete mobility of her neck.

Finally, always remember that the spine is an extension of the brain: Only a Neurosurgeon should operate on the spine !!! Orthopedic doctors (bone doctors) do spinal operations at a lower cost and are always recommended by your insurance carriers for less than noble reasons. Never let a bone doctor work on your brain !!!

Okay, one more final: Rods, screws and cement in your spine will, in my opinion and experience, destroy any possibility of you having a normal future without constant pain and restricted movement.

I do not have enough superlative words to describe my experience with Dr. John Anson and his staff, Carey and Megan. One month ago I could not walk 27 steps with out aide, today I can walk with NO pain, exercise, drive, and do most of my normal activities. Any limitations are now only for a limited time and then I am anticipating a full recovery.
Of course Dr. Anson's expertise in the surgery was of utmost importance, but his and his staff's treatment of my humanness will also stand out in my mind.
I am beyond happy , satisfied, and am most grateful. Thank you so very very much.

Dr. Anson has performed two brain surgies on me. He is not only a great Dr , he truly cares about his patients. Although I have moved away, if I need another surgery on my brain or spine I will find a way to have him do it!

I would very much like to change the star rating above. I have only heard amazing things about this doctor and was even referred by a friend who said to mention her name. Alas, it has done me no good. Even though Dr. Anson has reviewed my files and I was called on July 12th and told that he would like me to come in as soon as possible, the scheduler has yet to call me back. Today is July 17th. I know that by writing this review I dilute my chances even further of getting an appt. but I think people need to speak up when we, as patients are just a friggin number and not a concern.

I went to see Dr Anson about my C-Spine and he was very pleasant as well as informative. Loved his staff and his demeanor. Hes the only neurosurgeon I will go to now. Great reputation in this town as well.
