Doubletree Hotel Tampa Westshore Airport Review

Service was great, room was very nice, the view was just ok though.

Decent hotel. Mid range. Well located close to the airport.

This hotel was substandard to say the least. My room looked and felt outdated. My bathroom looked as if the painting and any updates were rushed and the showerhead didn't work properly. To make matters worse, the parking is very limited, especially for a property that size. But if you like to WALK with your luggage on a parking garage ramp to get to the hotel, you're in luck, since there is no elevator in the detached garage. The staff is inattentive and not very helpful. As a result, I wasn't made aware of the quickest way to get to my room. As a result, I walked what seemed to be a mile through one building, then outside to another before I finally arrived at my room. I was only there for a few hours (thank goodness), but I seriously doubt that I will ever return to this property without serious renovations and updating. By the way, the two stars were for the warm cookie (at least that was good). The room appearance and staff were definitely NOT what I am used to at a Doubletree/Hilton property (particularly as a Silver Member).

O.m.g. run. Really awful place. Hilton should reconsider the franchise. Tub didn't drain, Sneezy and moldy. Glad it was just one night. Of course this was the honors floor (2) and I am a gold member. Gross!

The parking lot was neat and orderly. The gentleman at the front door had such a great smile, and was very friendly, and the two gentleman at the front desk were friendly, and very helpful!

The rooms are decent sized rooms, it is a great location if you travel frequently being as it's right by the airport. Service is very professional and helpful

Very nice hotel... Rooms a little dated but they had a cookie waiting on me at 11:30pm which makes it all OK. They have a sports bar that was pretty crowded on a Friday night.

Good location and friendly staff. However the decor needs to be updated and the "executive lounge" leaves much to be desired.

I attended a job fair in one of the multi-purpose rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful in directing me to the correct area. Plenty of free parking. The interior was well maintained and pleasantly decorated. I was only there for an hour.

No remote to tv, and issues with an airport voucher as payment.

It was great! Especially the amazing breakfast buffet! Yum!!

What else do you need to know it's a Hilton property. It's nice

Not too bad, but no coffee in the lobby and surprisingly, no mini fridge in the room, the place needs refurbishing

For the price, definitely not worth it! No refrigerator, bathtub was with stained or dirty, extremely noisy pipes when shower was turned on, walls were thin (easily heard other people in next room), lots of noise from I275 (right next to hotel), A/C was extremely noisy, could fit my hand under the door (large door gap). No Continental breakfast (for $180 a night, there should be!). Staff was move, but still not worth the $$$

A bit long in the tooth. The air conditioners in the walls are noisy and cause large temperature swings.

The bathroom door wouldn't close normally and the sink didn't drain otherwise it was fine.

Conveniently located near the airport. Good price, with clean rooms and good service.

The room was clean and well stocked in the bathroom. Free Wi-Fi through the whole hotel with easy sign in. The rooms were a tad small but there was a little balcony where I could air out some of our costumes, which was convenient.

We were part of a large event that over 200 people and some families attended and stayed overnight. A number of the rooms had a horrible smell, like raw sewage. We couldn't tell where it came from because it got worse both when the A/C kicked on and when we lifted the toilet seat. The hotel did have a sports bar and breakfast buffet that were both very good. However, the front desk staff also were also rude to some of the families. The husbands had training until 3pm the next day at a different location. There were only about 2-3 families that hadn't checked out because they needed their husbands to pick them up. The hotel made plenty of money off the 200+ people, yet they were unwilling to accommodate these couple of families. That is rather petty and a pretty poor practice in customer service.

They gave us a room we didnt book. When we tried to change, they tell us they put us there for the better view.....the same pool view everyone else had. This isnt a hotel, its a community.

I have a great room with a balcony. The staff is very friendly. Anything I needed the staff was glad to assist me . I would recommend this to anyone flying in to the Tampa airport. Free shuttle service available.

The room I had was not comfortable. The water wouldn't completely shut off in the tub and the sink was clogged after washing hands the first time. What supposed to be a peaceful, relaxing night, I became annoyed.

Reliable shuttle service to and from airport and surrounding area. Strange layout. Rooms are nice. Request for a refrigerator was accommodated.

The rooms are very noisy due to the highway. I was treated unprofessionally by a front desk employee. I feel that this location is lacking hospitality.

Overall ok stay, hotel was near airport. Room was not clean well soon arrival and wifi reception wasn't strong enough in the room. Bar area looked nice and staff was friendly.

This hotel does not deserve to carry a Hilton brand name. Very outdated everywhere you look. This hotel must have been an amazing experience... back in the 70s, however very little has been done to it since so it sits here as a monument to the generation X era. Extremely loud a/c, wire harness coming out of it, when turned on, an extremely pungent smell of burning plastic filled the room. Main entry light had a flickering lightbulb, the only way to fix was to remove the cover and unscrew the bulb. No mini fridge or microwave were hiding behind an antique-ish looking tv stand/drawer which would be ok if some sort of complimentary continental breakfast was available. The restaurant downstairs offers breakfast starting at $15-$18/person which for a family of 3 staying for 4 days can get pricey.
The hotel is extremely overcrowded with multiple banquets hosted on the daily basis making the noise and specially the parking situation very uncomfortable. Guests are asked to park in an adjacent garage which only had room on 3rd and 4th levels during out stay. You then need to walk down the garage staircase (no elevator available) with luggage. The staircase reminded me of a inner city subway station staircase with a strong smell of urine and garbage everywhere making it unbearable.
If this was a Howard Johnson I would most likely except my faith and move on, however from a property carrying a Hilton name I was extremely disappointed. By far the worst Hilton brand hotel I ever stayed in.

My boyfriend was staying here for about a month on business. This hotel has hot breakfast and dinner included. You are able to bring your pet. It's very cozy and clean. Conveniently located close to airport and mall.

Front desk personnel have absolutely no clue what is going on, my room did not even have a basic fridge and room cleanliness was very below standard. If you have other Hilton options around the area, go there.

The shuttle was one of my favorite aspects of the hotel. The drivers were very friendly and informative about the area. And dont get me started on the complimentary cookies. I had a good experience at this Hotel.

Staff was very attentive and helpful, however I would avoid staying here currently. That's about where the positive review ends. The room/hotel smells damp and like mold. The comforter that was on my bed was lumpy - when I held it up to the light, it hard dark lumps of what I can only imagine was the filling. The shower was clogged/not draining properly and I couldn't turn the air conditioning down. It was also really loud - I could hear every conversation in the hall and all the traffic, even with the tv on. The pizza I got from the hotel restaurant was also burnt on the bottom and it seemed they were having trouble getting orders out properly. The hotel is still under reconstruction, however it was certainly not worth the lower price I paid for the room. Spend $25 more a night for a nicer place with less issues!

The beds were comfortable and the lobby is gorgeous. I can't say anything else good about this property.

Great hotel with excellent staff and a great view. No complimentary breakfast which is odd for $100 a night hotel, but they do have a nice breakfast restaurant I ate elsewhere. Pool closes at 10 which is before I've even finished drinking enough to get in! They did give me a free cookie though!

I pulled blankets up, stain on comforter, my deck was flooded, the pic on right was my view..very disappointed...they offered to up grade, I chose to just leave.

Excellent staff. Hotel was nice, but the room and especially the bathroom needed some renovation.

My husband and I were disappointed in the outdated decor. The bed was uncomfortable. The pillows were not fluffy or conforming. The hotel smelled. The signature cookies were not fresh or hot. I will not stay at this DoubleTree again. It didn't represent the Hilton brand we have come accustomed to.

Great hotel, with a lot of things to do in the area. In true Doubletree fashion, there is not enough shelf space in the vanity in bathroom.

No cookies at check in, dated rooms and HORRIBLE road noise. This is not up to Doubletree standards.

Our stay here was good. It was crowded due to a sporting event, but the level service didn't decline. The hotel is nice as was our room. It was relatively spacious. The room was also clean with comfortable beds. The staff always gave us enough towels. Whatever we needed, we got it with a smile.

I am a Hilton Honors member and received the worst service ever at this Hilton property. I booked a reservation on Hilton website and all was good until I decided to extend my stay at another Hilton property on Dec 19, thus calling on Dec 19 cancelling the reservation for Dec 20. I spoke with a front desk attendant who told me she had cancelled the room. My AMEX was billed as a no show. I called 3 times to the property's accounting dept getting VM greeting---does anyone work in this dept. I have now called the General Mgr...Michael Jones and left message. Let's see if I get a call back. I will avoid this property as the level of service might be reflected in the hotel's maintenance and comfort. There is a Marriott and Westin nearby....next stop for me.

Was there a couple weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed. Israel at the front desk was fantastic and really impressed me that he remembered my name each day. Plan to stay there again next week .

Bed was comfortable. Pillows were too fluffy. Service was decent. Wish the bathroom was cleaner. Probably could use a bit of renovation. Used Hilton Honors so can't complain about the price.

The facility is great. However, the carpeting in the conference room smells and needs to be cleaned.

First time in Tampa! My boyfriend & I really liked it here. Staff was very friendly specially the shuttle drivers! Room was clean, the pool was clean! Overall great experience!

Hotel inside was much nicer than the outside appearance. A female front desk agent named Sonia was very rude and unhelpful at one point during our short stay when a Hilton gift card would not process in their system. Was convenient to airport but I would not stay again, and rather pick a different Hilton hotel in the same area (much nicer Hampton Inn and Garden Inn a few blocks away). As a Gold member spending lots of $$ with Hilton, I was disappointed. Worst stay of any I've ever had with Hilton.

Had conference in Cypress room. Service, and food was good. Staff seemed attentive to stocking drinks, ice etc

The surrounding area makes it a great location in itself. The room is pretty nice, but the interior of the hotel feels a little outdated for the price. The cookies are delicious.

Where to start? Certainly wish I had read some reviews before I booked but I counted on the doubletree/Hilton name. Not again.
My room was on the highway. Obviously it wasn t ON but it sure sounded like it was. I don t know how they can put people in a room that loud and expect there not to be issues.
I turned around and went to desk.
Told no more rooms. Man in line behind me same issue. Had to get manager who was not helpful. Told me the rate I got was a good one and rooms being sold now for 299. What does that have to do with a highway in my room?
Ended up in a room across from elevator with highway running beside not through the room.
Terrible.
Then the actual room- headboard on one bed ripped off-bug on bathroom floor- hair on bathroom floor-curtain ripped. Totally
Disgusting. But it was 9, I was without car and needed to be up at 430am.

I had to ask for reduction in price of room( meager reduction given).

Emailed corporate who offered me a Hilton gift card.
I asked for refund to credit card but they don t have ability to do that.
They are limited in what they can do

very old style, staff does not make up the difference. Care line, well I don't know where to begin. If you find a hotel with a similar rate nearby, take it.

I liked the pool and room. There seemed to be a very mature atmosphere around the hotel.

Very weird layout.... Was in the tower and had a hard time finding how to get there. Not very easy to get to and from.

Service was quite good, and the people were friendly. My bed was a single queen bed. Showed up and got a free cookie, and was given a room. Room was on the 8th floor, and had a scenic overlook of the.... interstate. Noise was actually pretty low though. Pretty poor wifi connection in my room though. I spent most of the time on my mobilie hotspot because of that.... dinged one star for that.

I went to visit a friend. The hotel is nice. Rooms feel a little cramped. Pool area is really nice.

Good hotel.... Building is a bit old, but rooms are comfortable if a bit small compared to other newer Hilton s. Restaurant is superb.

The front desk associate was really nice. The only thing that I ve encountered here was how poor the bathroom is. The bathroom sink is clogged and doesn t look like it s well maintained. I ve tried calling to have them fix the clogging issue, but no luck.

Nice older hotel. Food in the sports bar is good (especially for hotel food), but a little pricey. Free WiFi and parking. 2.3 miles to Raymond James Stadium.

Visited 08/0819. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Rooms and bath needs updating. Restaurant food is ok. The food is not seasoned well.

Great stay, only issue is how expensive the room service was and the drink dispensers.

Nice hotel, the pool was really cold. The hot tub wasn't heated during our visit. Overall quite poolside day.

Thjs hotel is huge. Wasnt expecting tbat. I loved it. Its conveniently located , very easy to find , and super spacious. Definitely recommend this one for all you travelers passing through Trampa.

Good breakfast and service. Lobby is updated with a bar that's open late. Free shuttle anywhere within 2 miles. My only minor complaint is that the lock on my ironing board was broken and it wouldn't stand up.
