DoubleTree by Hilton Columbia South Carolina Review

Hotel has recently been updated and the room was very pleasant. The service was good and overall I had a very enjoyable stay.

The food was excellent. Meeting rooms had a high end touch to them. The rooms were well taken care of and the amenities overall left nothing to be desired.

The downstairs area looked really nice. There was a restaurant and a big lounge area with complimentary cookies and water/coffee. There's an outdoor pool and a conference center adjacent to the hotel. From that I thought the place was very nice. But my room was very dated. You could tell that the hotel hasn't been updated (at least not on the 5th floor). The air conditioning was loud, the shower looked old and dirty, and carpet seemed to be old. The TV was very nice: it had hotel info, room service, on demand movies, and streaming from your phone. So because I wasnt too keen on the room, I give it 3 stars. Good for a couple of nights to stay.

Nice rooms, but the lunch buffet was a little expensive in my opinion.

As soon as we walked in, the staff was great. Rooms were in excellent shape and public areas were gorgeous. Even the bar was reasonably priced!

I went here for a job interview, the room and hallway I was in was very clean and even had a pleasant smell, 10/10 would be interviewed here again

Came here for a conference but was blown away by the quality and elegance of the facilities. Would love to get a chance to stay here one day!

Convenient to the interstate, clean, well maintained.

The Double Tree staff was very professional and kind. The only thing that went wrong was that the buffet was not replenished as fast as it should have been.

Hotel is older than other, but in there defense they are remodeling. Service was fabulous as always. Cookies are always a added treat that I didn't need.

Nice location for a professional gathering. Plenty of room and good environment. The bar area was nice to have a drink in afterwards too.

I was in one of the suites for a job fair. The room looked very clean and professional, and parking was great.

is a very friendly pet location,very good food ,clean,nice staff ,but had a bad nigth trying to sleep and the loud music of my next doors neighbords and slaming doors slamming back and forth loud outside the door and the smell of marihuana to the point of me caliing to front desk ,but with no result,i ended up me and my husband going to the from desk almost at 2;00am to ask to be transfer to another room.without mentioning that the first room had no shower curtain and few others items missing.i probably think or look twice before go there againg.

I went for a training for work and the room was not clean. I had blood on my room floor. I guess with renovations, they initially put me on the ghetto side of the hotel, but once I took pictures and showed staff I was offered a nicer room. Also, staff was kind so I couldn t give a 1 rating, but tell people up front when they are booking if they are going to be charge a holding charge on their personal card when it s a business trip. Confusion can be avoided if people know up front when booking.

Actually did not stay, went for the pokemon gym that's located there. But nobody ever bothers me about it, so that's a thumbs up in my book.

The DoubleTree by Hilton in Columbia, SC was very reasonably priced, yet had many amenities that I enjoy in upscale hotels. The bed was very comfortable, and the linens and towels were high quality. My room was exceptionally clean, except that the carpet needed to be vacuumed. There room smelled fresh and clean, had welcoming lamps burning, and was set to the perfect temperature. Although the check in process was friendly, it seemed a little slow. Overall, I'd highly recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton.

For the most part our stay was ok except that the room was at 78 degrees when we first arrived. Also, the bathroom was dirty and wasn't properly stocked.

We went during construction. Rooms were nice. Hotel management needs to step up their game. Customers literally walked through the smokers area

We stopped and played Pokemon. The grounds around the hotel where well groomed and looked like a nice place to stay

DoubleTree was a great hotel. We stopped on our way to Myrtle beach and we were impressed. The room was very clean and the front desk staff all were lovely.

I was with a group and some of them had problems with their rooms but my room was clean with no issues. The problems were handled quick and professional.

Update: the replacement room was DIRTY!!!! Dirty beds!

The DoubleTree hosts my organization's annual management meeting. They continue to provide a good dining and presentation experience. I would highly recommend this venue.

The front desk staff are very friendly, clean room and cozy beds .

It was a very great hotel with great customer service

My brother and I reserved a suite with the celebration package and dinner for my 83 year old mother on her wedding night. When they arrived they were told no dinner and their credit card was required. They had to go to cracker barrel and eat and had no champagne or flowers. We have been trying to reach the manager and to no avail. He will not return phone calls so we are very irritated at this point. It would not have been so bad if my brother had not driven from Georgia to sign the appropriate forms for Mom to use his credit card and he had made a special trip the morning of the wedding to confirm all was in place. I do not recommend this hotel for anything special as they cannot get it together.

My hotel stay was amazing. Very professional pleasant people. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Their chief was the best part of my stay he was just so great to chat with.

Nice hotel. Service was exceptional. Dannyell was warm, friendly and incredibly helpful and generous with her time. Calvin was gracious and accomodating and willing to go the extra mile.

The staff is always exceptional and accommodating. The food in the restaurant is always good too!

I was there for a professional conference and found the conference arears bland, but functional. Service staff was friendly and accomodating. Restrooms were clean. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Was a very pleasant experience. I just stopped in briefly to get some information from the front desk clerk and he was very kind and polite. His name was Andrew and he gave excellent customer service.

Very nice customer service!! However the room I stayed in the A.C. unit kept me up all night making noises and getting hot. I forgot to tell the front desk but other than that my stay was great the lady at the restaurant was great I hate I forgotten her name because she was wonderful. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Huge meeting rooms. Quick, helpful and friendly staff. Our room was clean and nice. Bed was very firm. My biggest complaint is the toilets are SOOO LOUD. When they flush they sound like a rocket ship taking off. I bunked with a coworker and midnight trips to the potty would wake each other up. Constantly hearing others in surrounding rooms flush is quite a disturbance. Housekeeping kept turning off our ac.

Most of the hotel seemed to be taken care of and the staff seemed polite and attentive. Our room was mediocre at best. There was blood stains on the pull out bed, hair on the shower floor, and the entire floor smelled of marijuana. I tweeted to their corporate account and almost immediately someone called offering to transfer rooms, which was nice, but there wasn't much they could do about the smell, and it was so late that changing rooms was just a hassle.

Room great. Clean spacious, but staff could take some lessons on saying hello. Came up to desk was asked if I could be helped, then without making eye contact, turned away to answer phone. 3 employees , appeared to be finishing meeting, obviously saw me coming, but blocked path until I was about 18 inches away. One moved so I could get by, but no "excuse me" or eye contact acknowledging me as a person. Morning staff much more cheerful

The location is ideal, it's right off the highway, but only a short drive from downtown Columbia. And of course, the rooms and staff are nice wonderful.

The suites have very nice double rooms and bathrooms. The jet tub and steam shower are very nice. Room service was good and didn't mess with anything they didn't need to.

Clerk was pleasant and happy and it was her birthday. Wow talk about good customer service.

Decent place. Updated. Curteous and polite staff. Server in restaurant was very slow at dinner.

Stay was nice room was clean, a little small but the bathroom was good and the beds were comfortable. The lobby was nice and staff was good, it was a little pricey for the Area but overall a good stay.

Have only been here one day but not overly impressed. Got to the hotel was not greeted at all. I had to greet both of the people working the desk to get acknowledged. Got to my room to find two broken glasses laying outside the door. Called down to the desk and they sent someone up to clean up the glass. I could hear them complaining the whole time. Curtain is half of the rod, broken dresser drawers on every dresser.
Got back from work today. The room is not cleaned. Made my own bed. Not a big deal as I do it every day at home. Went to the desk to ask for coffee and shampoo and was disappointed by the response. No apology and snippy attitude. They wanted me to give an exact number of coffees creamers and sugars I wanted. Just fill it up! Asked to have wet towels removed. This was greeted by a blank look. I had to explain that there is nowhere to hang them so I'd like them removed. I'll give them until the end of the week but I may check out early and move to a different hotel.

I go here for conference meetings for my travel agency. I really like this place and they have the best fruit infused Waters.

Nice location and helpful staff. Guest rooms were large and comfortable. Temperature in the room was warm. Conference facility was nice. Food at the bar was interesting.

The rooms were nice, but the AC was not very good. The in house restaurant was expensive as well. If you are just looking for an overnight, it's pretty good.

I'm a mobile licensed clinical massage therapist so I travel, book and work in hotels so I come across many issues. Im comparison to other hotels in this state, I'm impressed. Location was conveniently beside the interstate. Came to this hotel to do massages and was greeted with a warm welcome at the front desk. The staff and the employees were beyond helpful and attentive to my needs during my duration here. Very accommodating. My daughter and I gotten lunch from the resturant inside the hotel. The good was delicious and well worth every penny. My 9 yr old daughter's words "finger lickin good"!! Haha. The community rooms are spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable for me to work clients in. Would highly recommend this venue for your events.

Very old and dirty. In a rough part of town. Carpets are disgusting. Hell, the whole floor, everywhere is gross here. Will never stay here again.

Good place for meetings at their business center. Difficult to access from Bush River Road.

disappointed in the fact they are NOT a firearm friendly hotel!!! (Never had a problem in the past with any of many hotels with not being able to conceal carry so never crossed my mind to ask in advance)Be aware to those 2a supporters and ccw peaple! At first i was of the mindset hey its a decent looking hotel but after venturing out for supper the neighborhood was shady! But as far as the hotel,servise and price was spot on, great clean hotel at decent price other than the anti firearms policy I'd rate it 5 stars! But that will probably mean i look elsewhere next time in the area for a ccw friendly hotel!

Very dated and many basic functions not working in guest room (e.g. door bolt locks, sink stoppers and outlets). Also room had no pictures on walls and common areas in Hall's to rooms completely devoid of character . They are remodeling so I would recommend waiting until AFTER the remodel is completed before staying here.

Spacious, but doors to the rooms were swollen, so they wouldn't close unless you pulled or pushed them hard. An older Hilton, needs updated!
