DoubleTree by Hilton Columbia South Carolina Review

Service is awesome, free warm cookies in the lobby, and there is WIFI!!!

Right next to Fudruckers the Double Tree by Hilton is a good location right off I-20. I didn't stay the night my last visit, but it looks like it would be a comfortable stay. Went for a trade show event for Columbia Apartment Association. Great space to host an event, so if you need a venue.

The conference room accommodated our function just fine.

Terrance Young concert was everything!!! He receives 5 stars from myself and family.

HOWEVER

The service during the show deserves 0 stars. We arrived to our table around 7:45 (party of 8). We were table 4 which sat up front by the stage. We never had a waitress come to our table. After waiting about an 1hr, my cousin decided to walk across the room and ask a representative by the entrance could we have some service. He told her that he'll send someone to our table right away and he walked in the back.

An additional hour passed, and no one came to our table. So my cousin walked to the bar and asked for someone to get a supervisor.

In the mist of her waiting for a supervisor (over 10min) a waitress appeared at our table and RUDELY hit our table multiples with her hand saying "Hello, yall ready to order, it doesn't matter who goes first" and slammed her pad down on the table. By that time it was 9:45pm and the show was over at 10. And her attitude was so rude, we decided not to order anything. And she rudely stormed through the back door.

***Remind you: my cousin is still standing by the bar waiting on a supervisor***

After the rude waitress left our table a supervisor decided to come from the back. Instead of interrupting the rest of the show, we stepped in the back and notified him of the service we were trying to receive and notified him of the rude waitress. He took initiative and had a different waitress take our order, brought us 2 bottles of wine and he also compted the entire meal. We appreciated him for that because we had elder family members whom drove from Orangeburg and had not eaten. (This earned the 2 star review).

2nd time visiting and they did not have my room available. Booked through third party and they use the excuse their systems don't match. Basically they gave my room away. The plus is the restaurant Colombo's and their dinner and breakfast was definitely 5 stars.

Rooms were not well cleaned.
High crime area with history of car break-ins.
My coworker found a dead fly in her sweet tea.
Breakfast items were not freshly made.
We went without breakfast two days in a row in spite of our Fortune 500 company contract to provide our team with take out bag breakfasts. The management is obviously inept and doesn't care about their customers.

Nice hotel, club room is not stocked or manned, even on busy weekends.

The rooms and the front desk staff were awesome. My only issue was the catering. We used the hotels catering for our event and it was horrid. I was shocked. The sides were so so so bad. We paid $120 each person for Dinner Lunch and Breakfast. Breakfast had no toast or Jelly. Dinner had Scalloped box potatoes that went with the Filet, and canned french green beans with no one ounce of seasoning. Then the Pasta Alfredo was one Tablespoon of sauce. We asked and asked for more with no luck. All the vegetables were canned or frozen. The veggies were not good at all. The meats were great that was served but they need to step up the game on the side dishes

Rooms are a bit outdated and worn out looking. Lobby was under renovation, so maybe the upper floors will also get a facelift. Location is convenient to downtown but the neighborhood itself is a little sketchy.

Awesome love this place, stay here every time I'm in Columbia.

Rooms are spacious and clean. and updatef. The rooms get plenty of TV channels for entertainment and the hotel is community located near the interstate. Spacious restaurant and bar on site

Very nice, very clean. Friendly staff, very helpful. Wish the hotel shuttle ran later than midnight and went further than 2 miles.

Only used ballroom , but super nice place,. very enjoyable atmosphere. Thank you for allowing our young people to use it.

Apparently if you pay 200$ to check in at 3:00pm then they have the right to screw you out of money and make you wait until 8pm until you can check in and then not refund you the money

The staff is extremely polite and always willing to do things like bring extra towels, etc. The cleaning staff constantly misses things.

Room was filthy!!! Pulled back sheets to get into bed and there was hair everywhere. Bathroom had hair all over the shower also. Wallpaper had rips in it. Very unsatisfied with accommodation.

Love the lounge for members. Great bar in lobby. Staff nice, offered me a suite upgrade. My only complaint is location. Nothing around, but hotel is top notch. I stayed at Hilton Garden the next week and wished I had stayed at the Doubletree, expect the Garden is by a bunch of restaurants and a mall.

The location was fine, the people that were there were kinda friendly, but the person at the front desk was kinda impatient and rude. The room was nice and the coffee was also good, but the outside rooms were dirty with old sheets left outside the rooms. Columbo's restaurant was great, however. The food was,very good.

Room furnishings good. Room needed better cleaning.

The place was really nice and everyone i met was nice my only concern was the conference room we were in looked like it had a condisation problem with some kibd of mold/mildew growing on the ceiling did not look pleasant

The woman working the desk was very friendly, the overall experience ruined by the older man working as the manager. Rude with no composure, treating the staff with no respect. I will take my business to an establishment where the employees and management are respectful. You may enjoy the rooms, as long as you need nothing from the management.

We came because our ac broke at home. We told front desk an tbey gave us room with bad ac. Maintenance guy showed up once but nothing got fixed room was 79degrees most of the night. But had no problem still charginging us $177 a night what a waste of money.

So we will not be back.

Bed was very hard, room smelled like old socks.
This hilton is like a fancy motel six.

Ms Curry at the front desk was friendly and well versed. At the time of check in, there were many guests, and she was alone, but took everyone's concerns and handled them. Although there were numerous functions going on, she kept her composure and did her job to the best of her ability.
I will always stay at this location when ever in the area.

I checked in at this Hotel Doubletree on November the 24th to the 26th and I pay for my hotel in cash and use my credit card for my $20 deposit this hotel cheating me out my money and still charge my card I would advise anybody to check all receipts and to make sure everything is accurate before you leave the counter because the customer service is poor and the manager there is unprofessional try to get in contact with her in reference to my bill several times left my phone number and still she has not returned my call or anything since November 26th when I checked out of this hotel now it is December 4th and still has not contacted me I wouldn't advise anybody to stay at this hotel I'll never said A Doubletree. And they didn't clean my room the whole time I was there.

The hotel is a lot nicer on the inside, than it looks like from the outside. However, as a Hilton Gold member, I was pretty dissatisfied with the restaurant inside. The waitress was not friendly, and was borderline rude. The food was ok, but not great. Pricing was a little elevated for what it was.

Not what I expected from Hilton more like a Quality Inn. Had stains all over my comforter and and was awoken at 9AM by housekeeping asking what time I was gonna check out

From the decor to the cleanliness, the helpfulness of the staff was above and beyond . I I can't say enough good things about our stay.

It appears to be older from the outside & in a run down part of town but when you walk in it is beautiful & relaxing. The room was nice, the staff was great, & the pool was enjoyable. Even though the pool is an outside pool

I stay at Hilton a lot! This one was the worst I have seen. Not clean. Pictures are not accurate.

Had to leave early on a business need from a 2 night stay. Called the hotel on the way out and told them the story. Manager promised to add some hhonors points since the 2nd night couldn't be refunded and I accepted. All good, until...

No points arrived into my account. Called a minimum of 3 times over the course of the next month, including leaving a voicemail for this mysterious manager who was always "unavailable," and no response. You want to keep the money for the unused night, fine, but don't make promises you don't intend to keep and further waste the time of your customers. I've been a happy Hhonors member for years and have never had anything remotely close to the lack of disregard shown by the management at this location.

Recently visited the DoubleTree hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the remodeling efforts. Very professional establishment with a posh lounge area, bar, and restaurant. The five story hotel had clean rooms, but the elevator was quite small. The hotel is located right off the Interstate and has plenty of parking available. Finding the main entrance to the property can be challenging if you are not familiar with the area.

This hotel was convenient for my friends and I to go dress shopping around Columbia and then out to dinner. The only complaint that I would have to say is that the customer service was not very helpful. It was three of us girls and we asked for a cart, which were unavailable for whatever reason. Everytime we went back (about 4 times) there wasn't one available. But, there was a big convention going on so maybe they were being used. After carrying in all of our bags and coolers, the men standing at the counter (3 of them) never once asked if we needed help or anything for that matter. Very nice place to stay! The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean, the air worked wonderful. Oh, and the complimentary cookies were amazing!!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree. It was very accessible from the highway. Rooms were very comfortable and service was excellent.

Staff were courteous and pleasant. Lobby was lovely. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was unusually small. I could barely get in there and close the door behind me. The curtains in the window did not fully close so the room was not as dark as I preferred at night.

Love the cookies. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable pillows and beds. Complimentary coffee.

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room though was rather disappointing. Refrigerator didn't work, ac barely kept the room cold.

Room was comfortable and cozy. They even texted you to after you check in to see if everything went well.

Hotel is under construction but over all nice hotel. Freinfly and helpful staff.

They had a bike rally group staying, 3 different times,that last at 3:30 AM one of 30 or 40 bikes park outside my window would crank set there and rev their engine several times and cut it off then go back to drinking was the worst hotel experience in 55 years

Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. New TVs allow for your smart devices to play Netflix or similar apps on the TV which is really cool. Hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. The shuttle to the airport is punctual.

Very nice Double with friendly staff. Room was hot and never cooled off all night. Otherwise the stay was nice.

Did not stay here. My organization utilized some of their meeting rooms. Lobby area and meeting rooms are nice. Staff was extremely helpful. Hotel is older. I had a chance to see one of the rooms. Hotels like these cater to sports teams or organizations hosting events. 3 stars only because the rooms are a little dated. But the location in relation to the greater Columbia area is perfect. Great staff.
