The hotel is nice. It's located right off the highway so easy access to and from. The bar and lobby area are a welcoming place to hang out. The rooms are updated and clean and the staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend to stay here.
Room 412... Beds are comfy. But the shower didn't have a liner with the curtain so water got EVERYWHERE. And no floor mat...And no lamps plugged in. The floor is stained...the tv is fine, so is the microwave. It's otherwise clean. When the renovations are finished it'll be a lot nicer. The fitness center was nice. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating when I went to them about my problems with the room.
There was a lot of construction which made it inconvenient to get around. The staff was very helpful and courteous despite the issues.
It's a nice hotel, the staff is very friendly, but I have stayed there many times, and it always seems like they never vacuum the room floors.. lately I have to bring flip flops because there's always something in the floor

Room tech and IT issues where the lack of a star, however the bartender Daniel knows how to make a drink, and is very attentive. The service and staff take care of customers, and the price is great. We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed there while worked out of town in Columbia SC.. Room very nice..water stays hot in shower and nice TV to watch after work...downstairs had a nice bar and grill ..food was good and service was great

Good place. Location is a bit sketchy at night. Staff was fairly pleasant, but kicked us out of the pool a few minutes before closing time (9:50)
The staff were always friendly and the complimentary cookies were awesome. They do not provide a breakfast as part of the room cost which was a bummer for someone on per diem. This was made up for by a large selection of great restaurants nearby. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My room had a balcony with a sliding door I could open and get fresh air through. The fitness room was the standard cardio equipment with some free weights that I swore I would use but never found the time.
My stay in this hotel is such a great experience! Me and husband decided to stay for the night while traveling to Ohio from Florida. Ms. Danyel of front desk is very friendly . Chef Erick's Asian Bourbon Salmon is phenomenal!!! For breakfast we were served by Mr. Jewel who is also very friendly and made us feel so comfortable. Kenneth made us feel so much welcome and feels like we are home!!! Britney , the bar tender is so nice..We will definitely come back,

I visited the hotel restaurant for drinks with a friend. I had an amazing time and the atmosphere was very chill.
AC unit is extremely noisy and the view out of the window was a brick wall 3 feet away. Not the best but far from the worst

This is a very nice establishment and the cleaning staff is very patient and they don't rush you out like a lot of hotels. The breakfast is good as well and this hotel has many many rooms and areas for venues, receptions and meetings etc. and it's prime location close to downtown Columbia and right in the middle of I-26 and I-20

The temperature in the meeting space fluctuated too radically. One minute we were hot then the next cold. Some people get sick like that! Please correct. Otherwise it was clean and the parking was good. Merry Christmas!
Ok place. No complimentary breakfast like other DoubleTrees. Also no coffee was available in the morning.

Stayed here one night while on a trip for work. Room and facilities were nice and have no complaints there. I do however have an issue with management allowing dozens of people to hang out in the lobby area drinking and making noise that can be heard in my room on the third floor until past 1130 at night. I called down twice asking when they would address the issue. At 1030pm I was told they were clearing everyone out by 1100pm which is outrageous by itself. Then adr 1130 I called again and was told everyone had cleared out, so I asked if the voices I was hearing were in my head. I was told they were in the bar area and would not be a problem, though they were since they were keeping me awake. I guess management cares more about making a buck from alcohol sales than from people staying at this hotel more than once.
Called front dest..wanted BLANKET..one hour later..no blanket! It was bad enough to arrive and be told DRIVE AROUND FOR AN HOUR..ROOMS NOT CLEAN..ITS2.00. RETURN 3.30. NOT READY..STANDING IN LOBBY...WILL NEVER WASTE A DIME TO STAY HERE..SORRY EXCUSE FOR HILTON!

This is the worse hotel I have stayed in ever - paying over $200 per night and the room is poorly cleaned and the stains in carpeting everywhere. When I reported this to the manager he just looked at me as if I was speaking in Russian.
I had family stay here while visiting Columbia. The staff were all helpful, professional, and very nice. The hotel/rooms were clean and modern. It may be a few extra dollars per room, but the service is worth the extra money.
For the price it wasn't as good as I would have hoped. Overall, the cleanliness was a 3, sheets, tub, shower, sinks, kitchen area all good. They miss the details like vents, tv remotes, etc, also my deluxe suite had 3 large size towels... could do to be a bit more generous with them considering that the two room suite comfortably fits 4 people and has a jacuzzi tub and shower. Haven't tried the room service yet, but will, and if it's worth reviewing one way or another I will. Rented the wrong movie and because we hadn't seen the movie we actually wanted to rent, it took us a minute to figure out it was the wrong one and they wouldn't refund it because they said we had watched 15 minutes of the wrong one. Seems a bit cheap to not refund us the movie considering they are already getting so much money out of us for a 3 night stay. Older hotel so everything was a a bit shabby. Altogether, I will not choose this hotel for another weekend getaway. The guest service was excellent but does not make up for the shortcomings. There are better hotels in Columbia :/ but I would like to thank the front desk and housekeeping for their fantastic service! That, at least, made us feel like the hard earned money spent was somewhat worth it.
Hotel is nice and staff is nice but there was a biker convention staying at the hotel and they were super loud and partying all night up until 4am. Really wish we were put on a floor far away from them. We were staying there for work in a very safety sensitive industry with mandatory rest requirements. The hotels we stay at know this and should not miss our rooms with other guests like these
I enjoy this hotel. I didnt give it 5 stars because I had a rocky night there. First I was unable to check in on time. Then the water in my room would not turn off. It couldnt be repaired that night. So i was moved to another room around 3 am. Only to be awakened by drilling at 5 am. The hotel did everything to accommodate me, and this was a once in a lifetime experience. I would definitely stay here again and again. Great breakfast and amenities. The staff is always helpful.
The staff went above and beyond during our stay. There were some towels and washcloths left in the bathroom and the woman at the front desk and the manager were very apologetic (and it certainly wasn t their fault!) and upgraded us to another room. Mistakes happen and should be taken in stride but the superior service at this Doubletree is what keeps me as a diamond member. Thank you!!
Went for a conference, very clean facilities though the conference room felt small with low ceilings. Restaurant is excellent.

The location isn't perfect but the rooms are clean and the staff provided for an enjoyable experience. The conference area is well laid out and the food provided by the hotel was really good.
This is the Best Hotel I have ever stayed in. Newly renovated rooms! Excellent Guest service and very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Columbia, South Carolina. The Gentleman that checked me in- Andrew Russel is by far the best front desk agent I have ever had in all of my Hotel stays and was extremely polite as well as a very positive personality. He was also very informative on any questions I had asked about the hotel. I felt very comfortable at this hotel and will definitely be staying there again. Also they Have Complimentary Chocolate Chip/Walnut Cookies which are the Best cookies I've ever had. Thanks Double Tree!
The hot water in the shower did not work. Our meeting room for Insurance Training was not ready at 9am and the room was Super Hot. The bed slept wonderful. The breakfast was very good.

The rooms are top notch also :) They have a restaurant and bar. Even better, they have a networking event Tuesdays with free drinks and hors d oeuvres. Very close to downtown and near many restaurants.

We were greeted with a smile. The lady at front desk asked if we would like to be upgraded to a larger room since it was slow. She offered us warm chocolate chip cookies(delicious by the way). The pool was very nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff was friendly.
However the room was in need of attention. The couch had white material possibly from a towel all over it. The tables were dirty, I lifted the lamp and it had left dark black matter on the table top. This was under two of the lamps. An empty bottle of wine in the cabinet. Paper wrappers in between the bed and nightstand. An open safety pin on the stained carpet. There was a dirty hand towel on the floor in the hallway. We had the door hanger for privacy but housekeeping knocked on door around 11 and asked if we were staying..
I did notify the ladies at front desk. They were very nice and apologized and would address the issues.
Been to this location a couple times. Each time the service at the bar was to be desired. In defense of the staff they werent properly trained nor properly staffed. Each time one bartender was present to serve the bar and all the tables plus run food. Ridiculous and its obvious the management is not willing to invest a penny in customer service. Since each visit was a year apart and the same exact problem plagued both visits. The room was clean and spacious. The location was quite. If just staying a night with no other expetations then not a bad place. But when i pay $18 for chicken wings atleast they should be quick. My bill for 4 people to eat and drink was $164 with a proper tip for the poor waitress. She did try and she deserves credit. She also kept her cool the entire time. My respect!
Just feels right..close to I20 but a quick trip to downtown. Just right and no parking garage hassle.

Been there for the thanksgiving meal two years in a row. First year it wasn't bad. This last year their food selection was terrible, the turkey want even that good and their dessert selection was terrible. The driest pumpkin pie I've ever had... Will not do that buffet again.
