Overrated. Overpriced.

Overrated. Overpriced.
Hotel kept $200 deposit for 2 weeks after my stay.
When asking them about it I was hung up on.

For the price and by Hilton my expectations were really high... It wasn t bad but I have had the same experience, room and amenities in cheaper places. I m giving three stars because I found a nail on the carpet, I wasn t even looking for it and I saw it. They have a lot of papers/signs saying they clean and sanitize everything really good and we found a nail (it really wasn t ours - we just arrived to sleep and take a shower, from 1am to 7am)

If you want a nice clean hotel during your stay in Sonoma California, the Doubletree may fit the bill. It was there on business for ine night and was pleasant. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is about service in the hotel restaurant. It was horrible!

Friendly staff and clean hotel. Could use some updating, but nothing that hindered us from enjoying our stay for a wedding in the area. Restaurant was convenient, but service could be improved.

This place was awesome !! The staff was so helpful and nice !!! Great views of the golf course. Beds were so clean and comfortable. Everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend this to everyone, and who doesn't like being greeted with a warm cookie.

Very nice. However! Don't get lost in the hallways!!!! It's kinda fun thought. Made for interesting conversations. We had a few issues but they fix everything really fast and were great about it.

WILL NOT BE BACK!! This hotel should not be a 3.5 stars. Room was ok, ice machine on 3rd floor would give us ice so we went to another floor. Soda machine has 3 options, has a card reader on it but it didn't work. Found bugs on the curtains the morning we were checking out. I had high hopes for this place. Wont be back.

TL;DR

TL;DR
Overpriced for everyday conveniences. Nothing about DoubleTree is practical, by design.

Checking in was simple. Staff is almost as friendly as Chick-fil-A, however lack the subtle "My pleasure" when services are concluded. My wife and I arrived late to our room (10:45pm), and prepped for the evenings conclusion into an early morning to catch my and my wife's flight. If they offered any type of morning meal, I did not have the opportunity to see it.

My Room:
King bed with couch and washroom fit for a family of two parents and 4 children. The water was hot with decent pressure. The bed was clean. I know this because I checked with a UV light (because that's what I do). The room was nice with nothing special and had all practical amenities.

Walking distance:
The square footage of the DoubleTree resort hotel is approximately 35,000 square feet. I walked just over a quarter mile before realizing I left something in my car. I believe I met my pedometer goal twice over before getting everything out of my vehicle and back to my room. Before you ask, NO, a luggage cart was not available at the time. I remember counting nine when I was first checking in. Then there were zero. The staff looked, but came up with none.

Issues:
Showering:
Everything looked to be in place until we figured out the hard way that we had a single towel to share between me and my wife. While this seems mildly inconvenient at most (And it is), the fact that I was missing a towel and my wife didn't have a towel for her hair was incredibly irritating.

Air conditioning:
Non-existent. The fan that provides air to the room blows about 3 cubic feet of air and does not provide cooling air to the rest of the room. While the air blows cold, it quits and refuses to turn back on. The lowest temperature setting is 65 degrees, which is also irrelevant since the room temperature never dropped below mid 70's. Perhaps this is an energy saving method the hotel uses to save power over the 35,000 square footage the report hotel provides. If that's their goal, they've successful accomplished their objective.

Final thoughts:
The DoubleTree is beautiful with friendly staff and attentive follow up with their texting service. I was texted by three different guest service providers that asked me for a single digit rating between 1-10 to which i replied, 8. An honest and fair rating considering the issues i faced while paying $160 for a group rate and almost having paid $240 for the night before. Needless to say, I WILL NOT stay at another DoubleTree hotel using my own money. I will use the services of a competitor for more than half the price.

Just had the best customer service from Raul at the front desk. I will be taking the Airport Express to the Oakland Airport and came to buy my parking pass. I highly recommend this facility to catch the bus from and hope you get to experience Raul's customer service.

If you want a great breakfast at a fair price, in a nice setting, this is a fantastic place to go. It's buffet style but they have someone making omlets as well and they are delicious. The French toast is great, the fruit is fresh, and there's a wide variety of drinks to choose from. You can sit outside in a beautiful garden with a small vineyard, great for meeting up with friends or family even if you aren't staying at the hotel. We'll probably be back.

Calm and elegant without being over the top. Staff is top notch! Travel with my daughter in wheelchair, no accessibility issues what so ever, will be back in a couple of weeks. If you travel with wheelchair, this is the place! Thank you all for a great stay!!!

I've never stayed at the DoubleTree overnight, but I have been here for a few conferences. It's a very nice place with a spacious ballroom. From walking through other parts of the hotel it is clean and fancy.

And there is a pickup to Airport Express, which skips so many other hotels.

The DoubleTree is easily accessible from the freeway, and has ample parking. It can be tricky to find the entrance, as from the freeway it looks like it should be accessible from Roberts Lake Road. You need to go an additional block up Golf Course Drive and turn on the road called Doubletree instead. The foyer is spacious and beautifully furnished. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and willing to walk out of their way to help me find locations in the hotel. One member of my party asked for larger water glasses, and the staff hunted down and brought back a set of large wine glasses without complaint. The event I attended took place in the ballroom, and it was also beautifully furnished. The Continental breakfast was also fantastic, with a surprising variety of food. The audio/visual equipment worked without a hitch that I could see. The DoubleTree pens and notepads were a nice touch, as well. I have absolutely no complaints.

The front (check-in, bar, restraunts) and exterior top notch. The rooms and halls are another issue. Don't be on the 1st and 2nd. Old building weak floors. Bathrooms 80s on the 1st floor, maybe the rest? Hall carpets wavy split and end of life. Bedding is sub standard. Light down cover with 2 flimsy sheets. Matress worn out. Better stays at express type hotels.

Large hotel about 30 minutes from Sonoma wine tasting. Good location, comfortable beds and love the free fresh cookies! Might be a little expensive for what you get, but the pool area is nice too.

It's very expensive now. I've been staying there for over 25 years. Rohnert Park needs another comproble hotel to give them some competition. Not worth paying almost 4 hundred dollars a night for a very average hotel room with very limited amenities.

Food was just ok for the price. The meats were overcooked, the sides were under. Drinks are worse than sports stadium prices. Overall I could have gotten food and drink elsewhere that was better and cheaper.

Very nice hotel. Check in was easy and hotel staff couldn't have been nicer.
We had a small problem with the fan in our bathroom and they were on right away! Front desk gave me another warm cookie the next night too!

Wishing we would have stayed somewhere else for our wedding. They couldn't do anything to help us get an upgrade they gave us the smallest room even though we booked a "nice" king room. They have had us change rooms because our reservations got messed up somehow. There was nothing great about being here, everything was very mediocre and ended up being a complete let down. I definitely suggest looking elsewhere is your on a vacation.

The staff here was accommodating and friendly. Parking here is not the best. We had to walk a long distance from the parking lot to our room. The room had a strange smell. It was a non smoking room but we decided that they must have had a smoker in there. The room was clean though dated. They still had popcorn ceilings and the fire alarm was so old it had yellowed a great deal. They do have a nice pool area with hot tub. Laundry facilities on each floor and a large workout room. There is also a restaurant on site. We did not try it, but they do provide room service. All in all this is a decent hotel. With a few updates it could be fantastic.

Room was spacious and clean. Only drawback was that it didn't contain a microwave. Pool area was nicely kept and very well landscaped. It resembled a Hawaiian resort. Staff was friendly and helpful during check in and check out. Overall a great experience.

Everything about this hotel was completely sufficient, but nothing stood out as great. The building and rooms themselves are just ok, thought there is a neat central courtyard and some nice landscaping. The location is isolated and car centric (not much to do within walking distance), yet there s a $10/night parking charge. The full breakfast was decent (included local cheeses and an omelette station), but really wasn t extensive enough to justify the $19 price; even Hilton elites need to pay $5 to upgrade to full hot breakfast. Service was friendly and professional. Overall our stay was pleasant, but I m not particularly eager to return.
