This location is beautiful and inviting. It's a bit far removed from other things, so it's ideal for those who intend to stay on the property. Tyne staff is friendly and helpful. There's a patio that's ideal for socializing while eating/drinking. Nice sized clean rooms and great views.
Nice views from the lobby, rooms were not desirable and the location is not easily accessible.
If you call to make a reservation you'll be lucky if you even get them to answer the phone most of the time they answer it and hang up
Great hotel away from traffic. Take the water taxi from Berkeley to sanfrancisco to avoid the crawl. Hotel was clean and spacious. Rooms were great. Parking was good.
Service was great. Only downside for my trip was how the hotel is located on the marina and is isolated from berkeley proper. Needed to uber everywhere because everything was too far to walk.
Yesterday was my husband and I's anniversary. We live in Oakland and wanted a night away. Our stay was great!! They have two pool and hot tub arias. One for families with kids and another for adults only! The beds are heavenly! The onlt thing I did not like was the bathrobes, very itchy and clumpy. Like they were dryed on high heat to many times.
A Lovely Hotel right on the waterfront excellent food and excellent location if you're looking for a very romantic dinner.

Worst double tree in the world and I ve been to over 20 countries doing business. Unexplained deposits, unexpected rate hikes, rude, absolutely unhelpful management(David Cook). I d recommend going to a real Double Tree, or to a hotel in Emeryville, I ll nevee bring s client back here. Double Tree, your staff is losing you corporate contracts!
If you re sensitive to scents then this hotel is not for you. Walking around the ground floor it smells like glade plug ins and Febreeze. Horrible. Can t escape it.
Very clean establishment with a friendly atmosphere, prices are reasonable.
Extremely rundown and poorly maintained property. The halls smell bad, the carpets haven t been changed in decades. We booked a suite for 3 people and the extra bed had dangerous metal projections and was hard as a rock due to a flimsy mattress and stiff springs. The main mattress was old and saggy and left me with a sore back. Our room was near an elevator that wasn t maintained properly and groaned extremely loudly every 60 seconds. One of the worst hotels I ve stayed in in years.

Too much to park there. I had a "courtyard view" room, but the view directly out of the window was the side of Building 4. If I moved to the right side of the window, I could see the front part of the courtyard. The pillows were kind of flat. Other than that, a solid hotel.
The staff we interacted with tried hard to provide good service. The thing we like best is its location adjacent to the marina park.
The hotel was really gorgeous, and it was a lot of fun to be there with my family. They have a really nice restaurant also with excellent food and good drinks.
Peter who was in charge of the shuttle transportation was outstanding. He was so nice and very helpful with getting many of our group members around the area. Thanks Peter!
This hotel is located in an excellent spot but has the worst ever management and customer service. The hotel staff are so unfriendly and made our stay extremely dissapointing. The bathrooms are terribly old and dirty with some issues with the cieling. Poor wifi connectivity. Avoid this hotel. Not worth the money at all. Very surprised to be included in the Hilton list of proprieties!!!!
It's got an awesome view that more than makes up for it's age. They're making improvements but the hotel is old.

Went on a room tour because we were considering booking this hotel for our wedding. Rooms were very dated with damaged and dirty furnishings.
Difficult to have the points in your account. And they charge a different rate from the booking, pay attention when you are paying, or like me you have to loose time chasing them to refund.
Excellent customer service. I always feel welcomed here. Comfortable, spacious rooms. Get a water facing room for some great views.

Locations - Right on the marina. Surrounded by trails. Rooms - old and outdated but ok. No fan in the bathroom. Do not get 1st floor on building 3 marina view. Too close to the trails and smokers. Restaurant has great view of marina and the bay. Great breakfast buffet with asian foods.
Beautiful location. Friendly staff from valet attendants to front desk peeps. Paid parking unfortunately but sometimes you can park across the street for free. Was here for an event and not an overnight guest. Meeting rooms could use more signage.
Always has fresh baked cookies and a very peaceful view. The only thing is the 70s decorum. HIDEOUS. IF you don't mind that and paying for parking then I'd say go for it.
They room smelled so bad. At first they told me all they can do is give me breakfast for my inconvenience. The manager called back and said he can change our rooms after we was told they didn't have anymore. We're here for 2 days . We wont be coming back. To much money for nothing. Plus you have to pay for all the activities.
Our stay was fine! It was New Year's Eve and we were there for an Lovely Event at the hotel! The Ambience was Beautiful! My only issue was there was no cover over the toilet! I have not ever stayed in a hotel that didn't have a cover over the toilet! I didn't like this st all! The service was great and staff professional but really?

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, close to Berkeley campus but away from the crowd and traffic. Parking was not an issue either. I thought it was a bit expensive but overall very happy with stay here.
Meh. There are a lot of renovations going on right now, so that's a little annoying. The hotel buildings are incredibly confusing and the grounds are hard to navigate. On the plus side, the rooms are decent and it's pretty quiet. It's also on the marina and located near some great scenic walks. The biggest plus, the staff is awesome. The shuttle driver, Peter, is the nicest guy.
Price is comparable....but parking price can hurt!!!!

If you never been to a double free this is my advice for you, get the cookies. Sounds like a simple thing to pass but I wouldn't stay here and pass on those.

My personal opinion it s to overpriced hotel the service was very bad the sinks were clogged they took for ever to help us out. They charge for parking plus tax you on the parking which it s pretty stupid the road to that hotel is terrible and yet they send you an email saying there there NOT responsible for any lost yet charge very much!!! Point being it was a terrible experience a perfect hotel I will never stay at!!!!!

Very nice and hidden right on the water. Very clean and the staff was very helpful. The only complaint was the main 2 streets leading up to the hotel, are in extremely bad condition!
I've stayed here on a number of occasions and have always found it to be one of the best hotels. The surrounding area is gorgeous and you get a lot of views right outside your window. Weather is almost always perfect thanks to the proximity of the bay. The room rates are reasonable and maybe a bit low considering the area. Bar tabs should be monitored closely as that is one area where cost seems significantly higher than value, but the view out back at the marina is pretty solid. Rooms are comfortable, spacious enough and all amenities are kept up well. Sometimes finding your way through the space can be difficult, but that's only a minor inconvenience. I've stayed here multiple times in the past and expect I will visit again soon.
My first time here I was told by the front desk my breakfast would be complimentary. Well in the morning I went down to there breakfast buffet and was halfway through eating my plate when I finally saw a waitress and waved her over to ask for coffee. She brought me coffee and then asked what room I was in and I told her and then she brought me back a reciept saying I owed 27 dollars. She said I wasn't on her list for breakfast and I would need to pay. So without having even finished my meal we went to the front desk of the hotel to clear things up. After that I lost my appetite and felt like since I am a younger business guest at their hotel they decided to just jump the gun and treat me poorly. Whatever happened to make them rush a reciept at me because I asked for coffee really ruined my breakfast and my day. It was not polite to have made me go through that before I even finished my meal. I will not be returning here again.
Great place on the water, charge for parking was a bummer as well as the trek to get to the room. Overall pretty good considering the price point.

Excellent service, upgraded our room and very wheelchair friendly. Breakfast was good despite being relocated to ball room. We got our cookie. Only complaint is that sound travels incredibly well down the hallways and was a bit loud at night.
