My company had the pleasure of hiring Don Strange of Texas for an event at the Alamo. I have organized plenty of events before and I have to say this was by far the best. Everything was was great. The food, the employees professionalism, and the decorations. They even coordinated my request to have a mariachi band and folkorico dancers. We had approximately 200 guests, most of which travelled from international locations (i.e. China, Egypt, Russia, Australia, India, etc.). Everyone enjoyed your services. I cannot forget about the candied bacon. It was divine. When placing your order, please don't forget the candied bacon. You'll thank me later! If you are planning an event in San Antonio, consider Don Strange. You won't regret it.

I was employed here at this company for only 4 months, which was long enough to taste the amount of disgust I now have for this Business. The equipment used is definately outdated and needs to be changed out, tables that are falling apart and dangerous, only to be draped by a cloth to conceal its true frailness. Ice chests to carry Ice to serve at the bars that were still littered with yesterdays ice water or soap only to be filled with new Ice (Contaminated) so that people end up ingesting these things. Then the food, although kind to the eye by nature, old food from previous parties re-used because it was never thrown out. This company saves everything from every party to re-use on another. There was times my ethical opinion came out and I was inclined to mention something but this was only met with their own distaste for my opinion and non productive responses. The female manager with the little frame and the big nose is very easy to meet, but this upclass perosonality of her socio-economic background is well matched with her lazy candor by making everyone do her job and then waving the off disrespectfully less than a human. Professionalism with her is only a front, and when it comes to the owner, he is in my opinion a good man, yet he was very quick to leave me in Galveston to find my way home to San Antonio with no ride. He did pay me which came as a shock, but I was even more appauled that he did not have common courtesy as a man to show some sort of compassion or empathy for anyone of my socio-economic status. Theres a joke that a few select people know called "floor pork" when we worked at the buckhorn and served it. Im sure you get the gyst, the manager was well aware and yet she still served it. There is also alot of favoritism, and "office drama" so if your looking to get hired here it definatly is not worth the trouble. Oh and to all felons they hire!!!!! Drug convictions to just released, they love anyone with a bad background to work to the bone because you NEED to work and they have the work. Just depends how much you need it. Anyways I gave this 2 stars because they did take me on a company vacation the louisiana that was very very cool and nice. So theyre not all bad, just dirty, un-moral, unprofessional, floor pork serving Liars. To all current vendors.......Maybe its time to change. 58 years of business does build alot of trust, but it also makes people get too comfortable with the policies theyre supposed to follow. Don Strange please clean up your act and your managers and start acting like a business not like children.

Sean and the whole Don Strange of Texas team made my fiance and myself feel special from day 1. They were available for a venue walk through, a tasting, and a final meeting to iron out any kinks prior to the wedding among other things along the way. They put my mind at ease from the beginning! My fiance is very picky when it comes to food. He was floored when he liked every single thing he tried at the tasting. This made it tricky to choose what we wanted to serve. Sean helped guide us to the right food decisions. My fiance is from Louisiana and I am from Texas. We wanted to incorporate both of our home states. Don Strange rose to the occasion and then some! We had shrimp & grits as one of our entrees to represent his Louisiana roots and Paletas served from a paleta cart to represent my San Antonio roots. It was perfect! Danny is THE best! He made sure things went smooth on our big day. My mom and I valued his expertise and input through every step of the planning process. My words do not do the team at Don Strange of Texas justice. We had multiple guests tell us our food was not only the best wedding food they had ever had, but the best food they had ever had, period. Thank you to the entire DST team. We felt the love from the beginning!

We have never been let down by a Don Strange event and have many friends that say the same! We have been ordering every week since they started doing individual deliveries and couldn t be more impressed with how they have improvised during these crazy corona-times. Keep up the good work...and candied bacon!

I am extremely disappointed with the way the phone is answered, and the attitude I received for asking about an event that is held at this establishment seasonally. Believe it or not, Some people still love to speak to an actual person regarding their plans. I don't want to base my facts off of things that are inserted into a website. I want to verify that what i have read hasn't changed, and that i won't have a bomb dropped on me and my family once we drive many miles to visit this place. I am extremely disappointed that this woman would treat someone so poorly. yuck!

The family and I enjoyed our visit. We drove over an hour from Floresville and it was well worth it. Although they could have used more lighting exhibits what they do have is great. For $25 a carload you can drive through and/or park and walk around. They have a huge barn decked out with Christmas decor with many vendors from food to cool and unique gifts. Best of all the big guy himself...SANTA! Pictures with Santa were very reasonable as well. Everyone was super nice and if you want the feel of Christmas on the ranch you will love it. We definately plan on going back next year and for years to come.

Lights and Christmas drive in movie were great (we bought tickets in advance). The drive in is the first entrance, the lights are the second. There is a restroom at next to the drive in and one at Santa's stop. Both have large their "barn doors" open to ensure airflow. Which seems like a good solution between indoor and outdoor for COVID concerns.

The movie has a snack table that we walked by.
The lights are fun and driving through the light tunnels was fun. Santa's stop had several stations: cocoa, nuts, socks, snacks/candies/popcorn, etc. Santa and Mrs. Claus were in the middle back people were considerate of social distancing and as mentioned earlier the air flow was good.

The staff was nice, courteous and helpful.
