First, I should say that this review is based purely on my experience with the Toyota Rent a Car service offered here. I haven't bought or serviced a vehicle here, only rented (at this point, anyway). I needed an 8-seat vehicle for a family roadtrip, but all the other big-name car rental agencies were overpriced and difficult to work with. Toyota Rent a Car is much more reasonably priced, the availability of vehicles is good, and the age restriction is only 21 instead of 25. All the people I worked with picking up and returning the rental were genuine and professional. The vehicle itself was amazing, too. The whole experience was truly incredible and puts those other car rental agencies to shame. I'll definitely go back to Don Jacobs Toyota if I need to rent a car again!

Wow I should have read the reviews before buying my car from here. Now I'm in the same boat with all of the other unsatisfied customers. No need to comment I already tried calling the dealership and none of your representative's have answers to my question. It's would be a waste to even try calling again. Seems like you guys got this whole scheme down. Once they make a sale you are placed on the block list for any issues. Good luck to any future buyers.

Not impressed with my experience at Don Jacobs. Salesman was condescending when I tried to lower the price of the car (they didn't lower it AT ALL). He hid the fact that the car only had 1 key until after papers were signed. Then I found out the car did not have the necessary spot drilled in for a front license plate. He then told me that "I'm a lucky girl" because they filled the tank for me instead of just putting $20 in (not like I just spent $14,000 at your dealership...).
But the real problems happened when I drove my new car off the lot and the brakes began making grinding noises. Called the service department & left a message to call me back (during business hours) - never got a call back. Then called again a week later, to be told i would have to wait 4-5 days to even have them looked at.... it's not like brakes are a safety concern. Took my car into another shop and they found that an existing issue was COVERED UP with new brake pads by the last tech to service it.... being Don Jacobs. I spent hundreds of dollars on this issue... it should not happen on a car with just over 30,000 miles. Manager of dealership heard of my unhappiness and called me only to talk down to me and disregard the proof I had from the technicians. Have told several friends, coworkers, and family in the Milwaukee area to never give them their business. Will continue to do so.

First of all, I was specifically told on the phone that the car would be finished in time for a twelve o'clock appointment for our newborn daughter afterwards. The day of the service, all that had changed. Second, they called us wanting to perform routine maintenance and change the brakes for an extra $500 (all things that could have been done easily by anyone with a little knowledge). When I went to pick up the car not only did I find that they charged us for work my husband could have easily done, but they had only cleaned the brakes, not replaced the pads as I was lead to believe. I feel deceived. I feel they took advantage of me because I'm a woman and I don't know much about cars. I would not trust these people, nor the agent, Dan, who spoke with me, with our vehicle again. Avoid at all costs!

I can't begin to describe how awesome the service was at Don Jacobs Toyota. My dad and I had been going around test driving cars at multiple locations and we stopped at Don Jacobs to test drive a Toyota Rav 4. We were helped by Shaun Sutter - told him right off the bat that we didn't want to talk numbers, just wanted to test drive the car to see if we liked it and if I did then we'd talk. Shaun wasn't pushy, gimmicky, or passive he literally ran (not joking) and got the keys for the car and took us on a test drive. During my test drive talked about all of the great features of the car and why it would be a great fit for me. We had one more car dealership to hit and Shaun gave us his contact information so that if we wanted to come back for the Rav we could contact him that we were returning so he could start paperwork for us. When financing wasn't in budget for me Shaun discussed the pricing for leasing and even got his manager to help explain how all of this worked. Needless to say my dad and I were blown out of the water with the great service! I am now leasing a great Rav 4 and anytime I have questions Shaun is there to answer- and what he doesn't know he makes sure he finds out! I would recommend my business to him anytime!

This is the second Toyota I have bought from Don Jacobs and I can't believe I even tried to go anywhere else. Their service and respect for my time was outstanding. The finance department fought to get me a great interest rate and did much of my paperwork via email/text. They knew I was short on time and got me in and out in under two hours!! Incredible. I went to another Toyota dealer closer to home, big mistake. Service is not universal. I will never go anywhere but here again.

First off, the service department was great. They were extremely respectful, they wore masks, wore gloves, and used plastic to protect the inside of vehicles. I really appreciate their diligence.
Now, on to sales department....
I was at Don Jacobs Toyota between 3:15pm and 4:30PM on December 17th for a routine oil change. I decided to sit in the sales floor at a little round table so I could safely social distance. While I waited, I observed for over an hour at least 5 members of the sales department-not wearing masks and/or social distancing. As a healthcare working, coming directly from work after taking care of sick patients, I had to watch their behavior and I was absolutely repulsed. Two of the members were sitting at the front counter, both not wearing a mask and within a foot of one another. I glared. One man realized and put his mask on...Bravo. The other man glared at me as I glared at him- a tall middle aged man. His mask draped beneath his chin. I crossed my arms and continued to stare.
Then, an old tan woman with long blonde hair and a red jacket (presumably in sales as well...) emerges from a back office without a mask. She walks by everyone, makes eye contact with me, and proceeds to mozy around the place, maskless. Then, a middle aged larger man emerges from his office completely maskless and laughing jovially as he is within inches from his coworker (the one with his mask under his chin) and they chat. Another young man comes over with his mask under his nose and they are all chatting. I was extremely uncomfortable with the lack of respect for one another as well as the customers. My glares affected 1/5 sales people. I thought sales people were supposed to be more attuned to how customers were feeling-pick up on any small details that can nail the sale... however, an exhausted 30 something woman in scrubs with an icy glare was not enough for them to either come up to me and ask what was wrong, or to pick up on the OBVIOUS signs to PULL UP AND PUT ON A MASK. I told my service guy about it, and he apologized. I asked for the large mans name. His name is Steve. I couldn't get out of the establishment fast enough. I went on Don Jacobs website and pulled up their Covid-19 safety promise...it's all doo-doo to me. Do better, be more SOCIALLY AWARE, respect yourself, your coworkers, and PUT A MASK ON. I swear I will never frequent any Don Jacobs establishment, not that anyone cares that works there....I have patients on high flow oxygen who still wear a mask. No one on the sales floor was carrying around an oxygen tank. Just some very ignorant, disgustingly rude individuals.

We purchased a toyota van from them for $11,000 something and within a month it broke down so we took it back to them. They said transmission problem and it's our problem and we need to pay $3,000 more to get transmission fix. My uncle was very upset because he just purchased the vehicle not even a month yet! After arguing for awhile, they asked that he pay $1,065 to get it fix. So he paid that amount. Definitely will not recommend this dealer to anyone. Their service used to be good but it is no longer the case. Extremely bad service here. Go to a different place if you want to buy used car but avoid this PLACE!! They'll sell bad vehicles to you and will claim that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL REPAIRS even if you just purchased within a week. AVOID THIS DEALER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET RIP OFF!!

When I talked to my salesman, he said he thought it was 4, not 6, first lie - then when I talked with the manager, he said they never give more than 2 oil changes - so I was lied to twice by the salesman. When I went to pick up the certificates for them, the manager told me he did not have them but would take care of it first thing Monday - that was a week ago! I would NEVER but a car from Don Jacobs, they lie to their customers, and do not stand behind the promises they make!

From the moment I walked in I was instantly greeted by the salesman Shaun. I told him that I was very nervous about making such a big purchase on my own and he made the entire experience great for me. I began to explain all of the features and price range I was looking for. Now I tried to take a basic service from them, but the service person was impolite and manner-less. If you think you can have this attitude and expect us trapped with your lousy service, then you are wrong. We will travel 20miles where people will smile at us and even they can not accommodate our request, still be respectful...proximity is not the only criteria that gains business!!!

They really wanted this sale and I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend that much money. I told the salesperson I would think about it. Pretty disappointed in there honesty when it comes to used cars. Recently purchased a Toyota Matrix from them. When I test drove it I heard a rattling, they said theyd look at it. Test drove it again and there was no noise. Drove out of the lot there the noise was again! They lied to my face. Got it looked at, and found out the heat shield was half broken off! Then to top it off my car wouldn t start at the gas station, had to get it towed and had to get a new starter put in. I got the car less than a month ago! I ll never be purchasing from here again.

After being promised both asap, I waited awhile then contacted my salesperson Manny's boss AJ. AJ probably should worry more about being thorough in his job then trying to sound like a disc jockey. 5 months later still no front license plate holder or spare key AND NOT RETURNING PHONE CALLS. Not a great way to do business. I won't buy another car here, but I will leave an honest review. It looks like you have plenty of others on here. Working with the finance person was a joke. His main goal was to get me to sign on the dotted line and told us we could refinance for free and any financial institution. Obviously lying. Way too much information about his personal life with unnecessary and inappropriate comments. I also brought my car in here shortly after I bought it and when I went to pick it up but they couldn't find it. They also did an estimate on some minor body damage and forgot to give me the paper with the estimate amount. WOW! Impressive company.
In response to your 4-30 response, I've noticed that you have the same cookie cutter response to everyone's complaints on here. The question is do you really actually read these and do anything about them. Do you even talk to the people mentioned? It looks like the same mistakes are made over and over. You still haven't addressed the issue about getting the spare key to me that you promised.

We had a phenomenal experience at Don Jacobs Toyota today! The entire process really started on Wednesday when I submitted an inquiry with Kelly Blue Book about the value of our current truck. Jean contacted me that day to say they were interested in making me an offer on my truck and that there was a newer Ram 1500 available that had been traded in to them. We made an appointment for Saturday to see the truck. When we arrived we were greeted by Max, one of the salesmen. He was aware of our interest and got the truck ready for a test drive. Max was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with. He asked about our needs as far as the vehicle went (payment, terms, etc.) and worked with his group to get us what we wanted. His knowledge of the finance process really put us at ease. We were handed off to Walt for our paperwork. Another great guy! Easy to talk to and walked us through everything so we understood exactly what we were getting and what we would be paying for it. Presented us with options and didn't pressure us to do anything. By far the best experience we have ever had purchasing a vehicle! The next time we are in the market for a vehicle, we will definitely be back! Thank you for the great experience. Overall I had a good experience. I recently got a used Rav4 and needed my first oil change with the new car. The staff person who helped me seemed to misunderstand that I was a brand new costumer to Don Jacobs Toyota and made multiple trips back and forth to my vehicle to gather all the necessary information. They did find a coupon for me that saved me $5 which was a pleasant surprise. Starting my visit by asking if I had ever been there before probably could have saved 5-10 minutes of wasted time. Great pre-sales and sales representatives! Questions they could not answer were quickly found with acceptable answers. Big part of reason I bought the car.
However, requested the certified 2015 Highlander XLE be prepped and inspected prior to sale in case I bought on the spot (I did). Less than three days later two defective items (photo shows splash guard had missing bolts), which should have been part of pre-sales checklist, failed. Luckily, the car is still under factory warranty and repairs 400+ miles away occurred with no challenge.

As of July 16 2020, Milwaukee County has a mask ordinance in place requiring everyone over 3 to wear a mask when in public and in close proximity to other people. On July 23, The shuttle driver at this location refused to wear a mask, and refused to enforce this rule on others riding the shuttle (also, the shuttle was packed to full capacity), risking the health and safety of everyone involved.

We have been very satisfied with the service we have received so far from all the staff at Don Jacobs. We recently went car shopping and found a Scion that we really liked there. Alan Whitsom was the salesperson and made sure we had everything we needed and all of our questions were answered. After we drove the car from the lot, we realized there were a couple of glitches in the car that needed to be taken care of. The service department was wonderful in getting the car in and the repairs done. We would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone.

The courtesy rides are a welcome amenity and well run - though I had one driver that was strangely braggadocios of his family. Even so, he had a certain rude charm.
I was disappointed to have a materials charge added to my service for materials, disposal, etc. since my work was for a completely electronic calibration, but whatever. Now I know the quoted prices aren't super transparent. I'd ask about that charge if you're looking for a quote. For what it's worth, it seemed like it was a straight percentage, and you could calculate it on your own for any given job.

First I met frank and then he decided to disappear and let Matt to deal with me. After asking about parts pricing I asked Matt to provide me with parts number or a quote with pricing he said he can t Print out nothing and He asked me to come and speak to his manager the next morning . His excuse that I could take his quote and go shop around . Guys remember the online innovation does exists and you are not only the Toyota dealer , you need to know it s super easy to get parts number and quotes on line but since you are 5 min away from my place i decided to give you the business .

I recently purchased 2018 Avalon from Don Jacobs Toyota...and the experience was horrible. The car price was decent but the overall experience was beyond worst. I was given only 1 Key Fob with the new car which I only realized after I reached home with the new car. When I inquired about the 2nd Key Fob (Multiple phone calls), I was told they can not locate it and eventually agreed to order me a new key fob. Calling again (No one called me back to follow-up) after a few days, I was told the manager Tegan FORGOT to order my the new Key Fob. It was finally ordered when Steve Jacobs (New Car Sales Manager) helped me after several calls. Once the Key Fob was available, I was told it will be programmed the same day. I reach the Dealership and the service department told me they have no time for me and I have to come after 3 days to get it programmed. I called Steve Jacobs and he finally set up the appointment for the same day. But the overall experience was just traumatic. After buying the car..every time I called, everyone was busy and had no time for me...everyone was available when I was buying the car. It appeared that if Steve had not helped, I would not have got my 2nd key ever (He is the only reason for 2 stars otherwise it would have been 1 Star. I am thinking about not to go even for free service to Don Jacobs Toyota.

The owner's son and the salesman both lied to me. Told me the car was flawless with no dings. Took a flight from 1100 miles away and gave them a down payment ahead of time to hold it for me. Once I picked up the car realised there was flaws all over and over spray from them doing repairs to sale the car. Not only that they didn't even use the correct color on the bumpers. This car was even toyota certified. What kind of dealership can't even match paint? They pretty much gave me the finger after that. They waited till return period was over to tell me to take a hike.

And if you decide not to purchase a vehicle, after the manager screams at you as if he wants to fight you, they will lower the cost below your asking price just to mock you. Horrifically immature!
