We went early on a Saturday morning and it was not crowded. Very nice.

Small but nice collections, and a garden that should have its peak in the summer.
Also, you can picnic there, once you are on the property.
Staff very polite , helpful & accommodating. Beautiful setting for Eclipse viewing.
Munch and learn lectures are always so fun and interesting!! Be sure to try the quinoa berry salad at the cafe!
it was amazing who is the guy at the cafe does he have instagram
If you like woodland gardens as much as I do you will love this place. It has really inspired me to beef up my own woodland garden. Many trees, shrubs, perrenials, and vines are presented here.
Tulips, Tulips, Tulips! March tulips at the Dixon is a must see.
Nice gallery and gardens with a reasonable price. Good for a stroll and mostly impressionist and post-impressionist artwork with a smattering of sculpture and pewter works.
My wife and I like to go here for dates. The exhibits are lovely, as are the gardens, especially when they are having their Tulip Festival.
I went there for school trip
There garden was lovely and inside the art was amazing
When I can find pictures from that day I will add to my post
Hope u joy it as I joy it
The Dixon Gallery & Gardens is a must visit if you live in the city, are just passing through, or simply love art. I wish all art museums had a garden element to them. Bravo to the amazing curators and horticulturists for creating such a beautiful experience. What is life without art? Dull...so go get inspired at the Dixon.
Had the best time, so educational! Margarita was wonderful!
The grounds alone make the botanic garden look like someone's backyard. Come for the art. Stay for the walk in the garden.
It helps rekindle my serenity with beautiful gardens and the nicest people. Friday meditation is the best.
We visited the Dixon to see the special Paxton exhibit. However, while traveling with a toddler our time (at least my time as the mom) was very limited. One of the security guards suggested we (my 20 month son and I) check out the new children's interactive area that had just opened about two weeks ago. My son loved coloring and playing with the little toys in the children's room. We had the opportunity to speak with one of the art teachers (believe his name was JT) and he was so kind, friendly and informative. If we lived in Memphis we would certainly plan to take advantage of all the art classes for kids! I loved hearing the history and vision of the children's room and hope the children around Memphis enjoy it for years to come!
Amazing permanent collection, changing exhibitions and gardens.
Nice small art museum. Gardens were nice to walk through.
The place offers activities that are enjoyable, also has great art.

Great way to spend an hour or so!
There seemed to be 3 major art exhibits available in early June. Portraits, pewter objects, and Impressionist art.
I wasn't a big fan of portraits or pewter, but the rest of the paintings were lovely.
The odd part was that the oil paintings were in areas with plenty of reflective light.
Outside, there was an athletic event going on that we didn't find but could hear through the trees.
Gorgeous gardens with trellis, plenty of chairs with matching tables and good walking others. A greenhouse was near the unique fountain.
I didn't visit the gift shop or coffee shop.

Excellent exhibits in gallery, beautiful gardens and grounds. Well worth visiting.
I visited today July 11, 2020. The gallery was closed so my son and I walked around the grounds. To be honest I don't know why it's rated so high unless they're talking about the gallery, which I do plan on checking out when it opens. The gardens/grounds were very unimpressive to me. There are actually very few flowers. Actually, I don't even know why they call it gardens. There are lots of trees and a few colored flowers, very few, so really no gardens. I did enjoy listening to the birds. There are not enough sculptures for my taste and I love sculptures. So, all and all I'd say so so for now until I check out the museum.
No gardens just a lot of trees and very few sculptures but the scenery was nice. I enjoyed looking at the sprinklers and listening to the birds. Unfortunately, the museum was closed due to the virus. So, I didn't get a chance to go in, but I do plan on returning to check that out too. I don't understand why it got rated so high and why it's called gardens because I only saw a few colored flowers, just lots of trees. The trees were nice though, I just expected to see flowers and sculptures and that was disappointing.
A beautiful place to go see art and floral.I really enjoyed myself.
I enjoyed this place. The staff is courteous and helpful. The coffee shop is great too.
Beautiful evening for music, food and fun at the Arts on Fire fundraising event.
One of my old favorites. Amazing place for the whole family.
Nice gardens and museum/art if you're into that.
Had free admission on Saturday mornings I believe. Check online...
Great gallery and gardens small side but interesting exhibits and monthly family activities.
Wonderful place to find peace and enjoy beautiful art and gardens
Enjoyed exhibit and new art work. Blooms in gardens from early Spring had faded by our June visit.
Nice exhibition. Was really mesmerized by a couple of the pieces, especially the Hugh Breckenridge piece. And we had lunch in the cafe after. Everyone was super nice.
Amazing place with such a beautiful variety of flowers and plants... And they also have a nice gallery. On saturdays from 10 to noon it's free!
We were here for a wedding. The venue was beautiful!!
Great place! Loved their Impressionist collection!!!
Very peaceful and very well kept. Nice and relaxing place to spend the morning.
Beautiful surroundings, bring you back to nature and relieve stress!
A little known treasure of impressionist paintings. A delight!
Some of the best botanic gardens in the city. This in addition to a great museum.
The Dixon Gallery and Gardens is a beautiful destination and I am so fortunate to work across the street. We bring residents from Town Village Audubon Park regularly to explore and for the quality programs. I often go with my family as well. If you have never been you must go and see for yourself!
Dixon has grown tremendously since the early days (1977_79) when I lived in Memphis. Need to go for a visit.
Excellent place to visit and take advantage of some time outdoors
MLK munch & learn showed how apropos Dr. King's words are today as 50 years ago. We have not yet Together reached the promised land, but God's plans continue to unfold to show us the way!
Beautiful place. Entrance is off of Park Avenue. The Bistro inside has nice sandwiches.
Had so much fun at food truck Friday and the smelly exhibit.
This place was listed in "National Geographic Guide to America's Public Gardens." A book I've had for 20+ years. As we travel, I'll check this book, as well as "Eccentric America" for places to add to my travel experience. This garden (and associated gallery) did NOT disappoint. And actually the gallery inspired me to take a drawing class and begin sketch journalling, like the displayed Memphis Urban Sketchers journals. The gardens (Spring time!) were wonderful. The cafe food was healthy and tasty. Some AMAZING artwork from lesser known artists to MANY world-renowned artists!!!
My lil new friend explored my sunglasses while I rested in the garden.
Thank you, Vicki Less and others, for your sketch journal inspiration.

As always, beautiful and amazing gardens- don't miss out on Food Truck Fridays to eat some tasty food while visiting the flowers!
Beautiful and well kept gardens. A large part of the museum is closed at the moment but often the exhibits change so that's probably why.
First time visiting here and wasn't disappointed. Came for Art on the Rocks but will be here to see the actual art very soon. Enjoyed every minute.
This museum was okay. Security stands so close you feel rushed. But the walk through the garden was especially nice!
Wonderful museum and gardens with a wide variety of member events.
The garden was absolutely beautiful and the art was breath taking. I by next month the garden will be completely green and lush.
Very fun and whimsical garden! Always a delightful experience in both the gardens and the gallery!
The garden is pretty during the Summer season. I got a free pass from the New Memphis Institute.
Beautiful place. Today, not all of the exhibits were open.
Beautiful gardens and a great art collection. I loved the impressionists, Degas, Monet and Surat.
Beautiful Unique art + gardens. Spring Summer Winter Fall.. anytime is awesome
Wonderful time at Arts On Fire. Good food and fine art. Fire dancing and more.
The gallery and gardens are still beautiful. The largest selection of Impressionist paintings.
