Disney's El Capitan Theatre Review

Just perfect. The best way to watch a movie in Hollywood

Love this historic old theater!! Had great reserved seats on the balcony, lots to look at inside, they offer tours as well, friendly and helpful staff

It looks amazing. Also brings back memories of the Muppets.

Greatest Theater I've ever been to. Somewhat cheap compared to other theaters, always great to have a show before the movie, and awesome props downstairs to see and take pics and selfies.

Great historical theater with a great staff. It is the only way to see any Disney movie. They always have something extra.

This place is a great,famous place that has premiered big movies for generations. Wgen we went, they had actual costumes on display from the movie we were seeing, Avengers Endgame. There was an organist playing live music on a one of a kind Disney jewel of an organ. I suspect he plays daily,even if there is only 3 people to watch the movie. The balcony level has vintage displays and pictures of past gala events, picture openings of the past century. Mudt see at least once!

AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL! ESPECTACULAR! I'm in love with El Capitan, it was amazing. Took my grandma to see a movie there and she loved it. We saw Fining Dory and she absolutely loved the opening act of Mr. Bubble Man (don't remember his name), cool tricks and funny.

Had soooo much fun watching Hocus Pocas. Can't wait to go back

Best theatre to watch Disney films. It's small and intimate for a cute date night or family outings.

This is the most beautiful theatre in LA. It is a Disney owned theatre and they showcase some of the best Disney movies. They always add an special event to each movie and there is a showcase in the lower level.

Saw an early screening of Ralph Breaks the Internet. Awesome theatre!

Excellent ambiance, history and location. They always makes the atmosphere of the sale so much fun! First time here for my husband and he loved it!

Such a great theatre. Love the show that they have before the movies. Went to go see toy story 4, all the characters were singing and dancing in real life before the movie. They even had confetti shooting from the sky. highly recommend especially if you're with kids or friends

El Capitan theater is only worth going to if they're providing some sort of pre-show so it's worth it. We went to see Aladdin, no pre-show just a photo op and a show room with pictures of the cast and costume used for the film. We arrived an hour and half before our show and there was already a line outside. Once allowed to go inside it was super crowded and waited 30 min in line to buy snacks. The seating is reserved and when we finally went to find our seats I was extremely disappointed to find out I was assigned the incorrect seats from the one's I wanted. We purchased the tix there in the box office and I specifically told the lady which seats I wanted and turns out she just got the row correct but not the seat #'s. My daughter suffers from anxiety and she was upset crying because she felt uncomfortable being sandwiched right in the middle of the row. Not to mention all the toddlers and babies playing and crying all around. We had a toddler behind us that kept touching our hair, very uncomfortable.

Truly a fantastic theater experience. You're not just seeing a movie your enjoying it. Good on so many levels Beyond just the film...

Adults and kids love this place. Some shows are better than others (movies accompany something extra: music, animal show; light show;etc) so check online. The VIP ticket is worth it if you want to grabs popcorn a drink and sit down. As soon as the doors open the show starts so you don't want to waste time at the concession stand or be split between grabbing something to eat and drink or getting in line to take a picture with the character!

SEATS ARE WAY TOO NARROW. OTHER THAN THAT ITS A BEAUTIFUL VENUE.

This really was the worst movie going experience I've ever had. I literally could not hear the movie over the parents talking and children constantly making sounds and yelling. On top of that about half the audience thinks it's okay to take out their phone during the movie.

The Staff is Wonderful... The Theater is Awesome and Timeless. And the presentation, especially the Organist, was flawless!!! We had a VERY Nice time

Venue is cool looking, so that's what the star is for. Do NOT waste your money on gimics or so called "VIP packages." Went to get what I paid for only to be told, "we sold out 2 days ago. We have more but cant give them out right now." So, are u sold out or just holding on to them, which is it? Either way, dont advertise it and make people pay extra for it. TOTAL rip off. I will never come here again. Such a waste of money and time...just go to a regular movie theater, you'll have more comfortable seats and better tasting concessions as well. So disappointed. Do not believe the hype, this place is full of lies and deception. RIP OFF AND FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.

If I wanted to brush up on my Korean I would come here to watch a movie. Since all of their movies have Korean subtitles.

Any seat here comes with a great view. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

From my experience, it's a cool place if you want to see the fashion display or a surprise before a movie. A couple of years ago I watched "Monster's Inc University" and there was a cheer leader squad perfomance before the movie played. (It took me by surprise).

Recently, I recieved a iron- on -patch after seeing "Captain Marvel". The theatre also had a display of the outfits worn in the film.

They do a class fun act for kidos. My favorite pick.

Saw Call of the Wild today. They asked me where my seat was and took me there. There are two places to get snacks drinks and popcorn...one as you enter is the main place and one area right at the door entrance to where the audience is seated.

Its a very beautiful theater but when i went, they were having to many technical difficulties through out the movie. For what you pay to get in i think they should be more careful with these mistakes.

What a great place to share with friends who have never been here! Staff was amazing and definitely rolled out the Disney Red Carpet for us. One of our friends has some mobility difficulties and they stayed a little late so that she could see the behind the scenes which required careful navigation of the stairs. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. It really made her night!

The movies they have there are nice. The seats are comfortable. But the place is a little bit too big for my liking.

I generally don t like Hollywood since it s full of tourist traps and traffic jams, but the El Capitan Theatre is definitely worth checking out. It s an elegant place with rich history behind it, and ticket prices were surprisingly not too bad considering it s a Dolby Cinema projector. As it is owned and operated by Disney, you will only be able to watch Disney films at this location. When there are new releases they typically have props from the movie in the lower floor, and when there aren t any new releases they replay the older classics. When the movie is over don t forget to get your parking validated to make it a $2 ticket and check out the Ghirardelli and Disney Store next door for dessert and limited edition items if you re a collector.

Go here for the old vintage theater experience. It was great!! Beautiful inside. Our balcony seats were sitting straight up and down with very little leg room. However, reading other comments this may only be a problem on the first row balcony. I guess it was built in the 20's!

One of the best places to view a new Disney/Marvel/Star Wars/Pixar movie.

Love that they focus on making each visit an experience, instead of just another transaction. They have live music before each movie. Nice touch.

Best place to watch Disney movies. Normally they have extra goodies to check out which makes it a better place to see the movie at.

If you are looking for a full movie experience, this is the place to be. They have a bar and a restaurant inside, they have a gift store - and the movie theaters themselves are better than you've ever seen before. Be prepared to pay way more than you ever have before, but I assure you that you won't regret it.

Never explained how the did not have a show and i spent $95 Dollar. They should let you know before they take your money.

Beautiful theatre that takes you back in time! They really have a flair and respect for the movie going experience! There's always something extra to go along with the feature such as a photo opportunity or live performance!

Great for Disney nostalgia, El Capitan goes above being just a movie theater and (in true Disney fashion) makes its moviegoing an experience. Pretty pricey, the El Capitan is a special occasion type of place. Avoid weekend afternoon screenings if you don't want lots of kids in your movie.

It was nice, clean and entertaining. Totally worth it.

It's entertaining they play the organ and play different tunes some from disney movies you get to see props after the show it's worth the money I saw beauty and the beast here and it made the movie even more amazing
