Great place to see a premier. Avoid the first row of balcony seats especially if you are tall or fat. (If your tall your knees will hit the balcony wall. Or fat cause the seats don't fit.) There's some history behind this theatre. For Stars Wars, they had a organ player perform a Star Wars Medley. There was a laser lights show that was Star Wars themed.
Great! Live performances before every show and an organist! Assigned seat is nice too!
This is my first time coming to this theater walk past it probably 1 million times never seen a movie here we came here to see black panther on opening weekend. It was a great experience theater is beautiful inside and the whole atmosphere is nice it was a bit crowded afterwards but the ushers were very helpful and kind.
I really liked El Capitan Theatre facade. It is the most beautiful facade of all Hollywood Boulevard, so I took a lot of pics of it.
Was in Los Angeles for the Scandal series finale table reading. Beautiful location. Easy to find. Enjoyed it. Looking forward to returning.

Oh my gosh! Had the best time going to see the Nightmare Before Christmas in 4D here with a few friends! Would be great for a family trip, date, friends night out. Great experience. Would love to see other shows and how they build them out with all the props and special effects from chill blowing through the theater to fog filling the stage at the perfect time to match the images on the screen.
Great theatre that's always playing something good...but never multiple things good. Disney now has a streaming service with a plethora of great films, this is the perfect spot to choose one, two, three a week from that service, whatever it may be, and show them in theatres!
Worth every penny, get there early for the pre show events and music!!
I love the El Capitan Theater. They saved it from the wrecking ball many years ago and thank goodness.

Always love the attention to detail they offer here. The tickets aren't much more expensive than a standard theater, but most shows have extras in theater or a cool display downstairs that really enhances the experience.
This is a great theatre to watch big movies! The theatre has great sound and also they usually throw in some relevant live show before the main feature. Very nice clean entertainment. Good for kids.

They also have a refurbished vintage organ, sometimes played by expert musicians before movies, sometimes in specialty showcase performances
Fun experience. Depends on the show you see. We love seeing the princesses. Popcorn is probably the WORST I have ever had in a movie theater.
El Captain Theatre is a landmark in Hollywood and more then just that! So many of us locals have our childhoods connected with El Capitan! I still remember being a child and having my father take me to watch my first movie in the theater ! Trust me watching a movie here is an experience more then words can do justice! A must visit for every one!!!
Saw Nightmare Before Christmas in 4D and I was really impressed with the light effects and smells.
Definitely an amazing place to take a family or a date.
Beware if your a really fat person, you will be uncomfortable. Saw a huge guy trying to squeeze into his chair and made the person next to him really uncomfortable as well. Maybe you can book the balcony for your self.
Military discount is well worth claiming here! Half off tix and snacks. Very cold theater but that's normal, isn't it? Magnetometers at the entrance...that was new.

So so soooooo happy that they are open again. It was VERY safe. The staff helps to keep everything clean and there are sanitizing stations all around. The seating is very well spaced out too, way over 6 feet between each group.

My family and I love coming to this theater. They normally have special props or preshow events. Staff is awesome and attentive. If we came to watch a movie, we try to come on Sundays since there is less traffic. Thankfully, they give parking validation and you pay only $3 for 4 hour parking at the Kodak parking lot. This theater makes watching a movie extra spacial. Totally worth it. Just make sure you come early.
The movie quality is great, as is the event itself. I was quite disappointed by the food, though. It's expensive and tastes stale (we had pretzels and popcorn). For the price you pay I'd hope for better tasting food.

I saw the Incredibles 2 movie here and it was a pretty cool experience. There were ppl in costumes and confetti cannons.
What a magical place. Hollywood/Disney. Went to go see the new Tim Burton, Dumbo. It was fabulous. The organist was outstanding, playing all of the Disney picture songs. Brought out the child inside. Good feeling in your soul. Family fun day, Sunday. If you haven't been to El Capitan, highly recommend it.

Great historic theater, our favorite place to see a Disney film. Order online, the VIP package includes a tub of popcorn in a collector bucket and a beverage. Park at Hollywood and Highland and get some validation credit along with a trip through the street performers on your 5 minute walk in and out. Lots of food available at Hollywood and Highland or on Hollywood Blvd.
The theater room is beautiful but the seats are very uncomfortable for the pricing

Really fun and unique place to see a movie and make it a more memorable experience. Definitely pricey for what it is, but not completely egregious.
Just saw Aladdin. Staff was very friendly. I LOVE the decor and atmosphere inside its original looking , very old Hollywood , down the the mannerisms and uniforms of staff, it was like stepping back in time. Loved it!! Great place to take the kids and i spent less then at a regular movie theater.
I had planned a day for my little sister and i, we unfortunately arrived very late to our showing. I had explained to the young lady, Jessica in the box office what had happened. She was very quick to help and resolve our situation. We were able to catch the next showing. We spoke to Robert the usher again of our stituation and he was already aware of the situation. He kindly walked us to our seats and got us accomadated. Jessica, even came to check up on us and see how we were doing. I felt relieved & thankful that my little sister would get to enjoy the Nightmare Before Christmas in 4d at El Capitan.

Love the El Capitan but every time I come here I remember how much I miss stadium seating (which this theater doesn't have). It would sure come in handy when I fall asleep during kiddie movies
The theater is a landmark. It's artdeco architecture is extremely beautiful. The sound is awesome. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is the cost. Very expensive. $6.00 for a bottle of soda? Yikes!
The service was great. The show was amazing. The only thing I Highly Request is that you all invest in New Seating. Its dirty dated and looks horrible.

The staff all are really friendly the have some items from the movie in a room area down stairs the the restrooms.

Loved the live show with dancers before the movie (the Incredibles 2) also loved how the crowd cheered during the movie. Good movie experience. We had upper balcony and it was great.
Awesome atmosphere. Throwback theater, beautifully maintained. Live stage act related to, but separate from the movie being shown. Highly recommend it.
Hollywood area is lively, so that adds to the experience. Went to see a movie, seats need to be updated, I'm tall and my legs were cramped, backrest was too low for me to rest my head on, mens restroom upstairs only had 2 stalls (paper towels were out), so restroom line was long, seats were not positioned so that everyone has a good view.
Beautiful theatre. Loved seeing the Dumbo fan premiere here.
