FOOD WAS YUMMM-MOOO, SERVICE & THE ATMOSPHERE FRIENDLY & COZY!!!
Fried Shrimp and fried okra are the best! Highly recommend them. We go at least twice per month and are never let down.
This is my first time ordering from Dirty Al s from Favor, I had been wanting a pasta seafood platter and ordered the chicken & shrimp Alfredo and it was delicious!!! Definitely felt like an authentic plate from South Padre! I ll definitely be going in person from now on, good job Dirty Al s!
Been here several times and never disappointed. Service was excellent, food was excellent, price was reasonable. Could use a little brighter lighting. Plan on returning again.
Don't waste your time
Bad service. Fish is not in great condition. They'll make you wait and never serve you unless you're of a certain persuasion.
Terrible service, wait time was over 40 minutes and the food was not that great.
One problem, the cook blackened my fish that wasn't supposed to be. They gave me a new meal. Only problem with that is you have to wait again. Other guests are done already.
Loved it! My blackened fish ribs were Subject to seasonal availability...
They take forever! Whether eating in or picking up, plan on waiting a very long time.
If you are going for the boiled crawfish... dont even walk in the door... worst crawfish in the world..
Ordered the $5.99 shrimp specials. very disappointed!! Just some very smelly shrimp thrown In a box. No ice, no cocktail sauce , not even napkins. Smell was horrible
Went in during the lunch hour and it was pretty calm. Customer service was great and their CORNBREAD IS A MUST HAVE!!!!
Love Dirty Al's! Drinks are big, good is delicious!
Awesome awesome place for the best fish around and shrimp fix in many different ways reasonable pricing highly recommend
We are Winter Texans and we eat at Dirty Als in McAllen every Sunday after church and we love the 10 count, fried shrimp and french fries. My husband and I spilt as is too much for one person to eat. We always ask for Pete. We cannot get shrimp like this in SD.
Well to start off with and only 2 star's we ordered the Cajun Mixup and I'm not sure how long but somewhere around 15 minutes plus or minus again not sure, the waiter came and told us they were out of that dish as we both ordered the same dish, and asked if we wanted to order something else well I didn't memories the menu in the first reading as the waiter stood there waiting for us to order and I finally asked to see the menu for another meal to order. So we ordered the New Orleans Shrimp as we have had it a few years ago but this time it was left in the bag they cooked it in, very poorly presentation for a dish, all around just didn't feel like the same restaurant that we had been to before. The Shrimp was good and hot just the presentation was way off.
The only good thing about Dirty Al's in McAllen was sharing time with good friends while we waited and waited and waited. We were all overcharged and some didn't get the amount of shrimp they ordered but still charged for. The manager was rude and told us he didn't care. We won't be going back
Great place for great seafood, awesome daily specials!
I love this place to get a simple shrimp cocktail or getting a crawfish boil they never fail me
Our server was superb, served 16 of us with ease.
Food was good
Very good tasting food. A teeny tiny salty but great. My only disappointment is that they now charge extra for additional dirty al's hot sauce. Not cool. You only get 3 little servings per $50+ botana. Ouch.
Best seafood in South Texas. Fast service and moderate prices. One of my favorite places.
It's the best food in town, and the half price on oysters on Monday is just a nice treat. Love it they do a good job on every thing they offer. Thank you.
Customer service is great the atmosphere was great just the food itself is overrated and overpriced you can get this fish anywhere there was nothing unique about their tartar sauce or any of their food it was just average and small portions I tried multiple things on the menu and nothing stood out the ranch for the salad was not buttermilk which ranch it was like watered down generic ranch the sweet tea was horrible as well
The food is ok. My disappointment was in the fact that they nickle and dime you for everything. $2 to grill, $1.80 to change your side to a salad, $2.50 for bread. No lemon with ice tea or seafood meal. Won't be coming back.
Great food! Might be a tad expensive but well worth!
Usually One Of Our Go Too's, When In This Area. This Evening We Entered,& Politely Asked To Be Seated By The Window On The North Side; Where Tables Were Available. Was Told It Depended On The Server. I Taught She Was Joking! Nope, She Took Us To The Very Last Table, Due South. So Of Course We Walked Out. Terrible Service & Attitude!
Visiting the valley decided to stop in for oysters. Very fresh oysters, great with a cold modelo. Kid behind the bar was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back.
Excellent we had a comb plate nice and fresh shrimp and fish great service plus Killer Onion Rings you just can't go wrong with any menu item
Food was good and the waiter was good to only thing was it took about an hour to get the food...
Customer service is still good, the kitchen this time failed terribly
Fun colorful spot for excellent Creole and Cajun seafood! Plus they have a nice, basic kid's menu for non-adventurous eaters.
Excellent place! Shrimp delicious, we have a really good time, staff super friendly!!
Clean, good service but the quality of food was horrible. The shrimp cocktail was nasty and the crawfish etoufee was marginal and a very small portion. The chips were very stale and there was no salsa available. I highly recommend the bread putting, it was the only part of the meal I actually enjoyed. The waiter didnt seem to understand English.
This used to be a five star restaurant review. Changing to 1 star for safety reasons. Went to the restaurant with the family a month ago. Wife ordered a fresh whole red snapper. It came out and smelled like really strong urine. We talked to the manager and he actually said, he will have his cooks wash the fish better next time and get my wife another fish. I at that point said i don't think you can wash spoiled fish off fish and we left. My recommendation is, if you want to eat at this restaurant, their are two of them. One restaurant is at south padre island, I've never had problems eating there and the sea food is fresher down there. Don't eat at this one, its gone down hill obviously.
I love the food waiters could be a little more fluent in English I hardly speak Spanish but barely so communication can be better
Good food, good service, reasonable prices. The four of us all enjoyed our supper at Dirty Al's. My only complaint is that it was a bit noisier than I like. I'm sure we will return soon.
It was alright no big deal shrimp was old service was weak
Good food & environment, however on one visit the oil everything was fried in had a funny smell that permeated the air and fries which had the same taste as the smell
Amazing service amazing food their jambalaya is on point
We did not like this place. Food average. Nothing to brag about
Horrible service, food was not good ,and waitress decided to tip herself without asking I would rate 0 stars if I could
Boiled shrimp...oyster shrimp Rockefellers were on point. However, what looked like a very small bar roach in drink was not appealing to the eye
Been there a couple times recently and really enjoyed the food, particularly the bacon wrapped shrimp.
I go almost exclusively for the oyster mondays, and the accompanying happy hour. 50cent oysters, beers less than $2. The golden hours are between 2pm and 7pm, not busy, no rush, kitchen & bar aren't swamped.
