Went for dinner pretty late on a Friday night, service was fast and friendly. The food was awesome! There was a jazz band playing and they were incredible. Highly recommend!!!

Awesome bar, restaurant, vibe, people, live music! Ribs were a bit overcooked, Mac and cheese was not hot enough ( a bit above room temp). Cornbread tasted incredible! Price was just right and A LOT of beer selections... High ABV ones!
First time I have been there... excellent first time experience
If you want some good bar-b-que or just some corn bread they got you
This restaurant is definitely a restaurant but it is also very much part a bar and live music hall. All are excellent. This is not a dainty kind of place, it is rock solid, bbq and big eats. Recently had the deal for 2 with the briket, pulled pork and poultine fries. Tummy filler. Teriffic spot.
My family and I had to wait 1hour and 30min. just to get a table. The food was good and dessert was even better. Great service. But there is not a lot of space.
Dinosaur Barbeque is a staple Syracuse dining experience. The food is top quality and the biker bar atmosphere is strange and charming at the same time.
This place is a must if you're ever in downtown Syracuse. Amazing food. Can get crowded at times but cool.
Portions have got smaller, price gone up, BBQ ok a little sweet, good place to take visitors to cny
Delicious Smoked meats. Large portions, large beer selection.
Grest bar b que. They are always busy and the food is always good.
The food was very good, but slightly expensive for the area. Service was also ok. Only the very loud motorcycles make sitting outside a little annoying.
My favorite bbq! Love this place! Need one in Florida
Best BBQ ever...of you are going on a Saturday get there by 11 or wait...awhile!!! The baked beans are.loke no other.
First off the mac & cheese was awful. It literally is canned mac & cheese. Very disappointing, but this could have been overlooked if everything was on point. This was not the case. For the price, or any price for that matter, I would have wanted my $16 beef brisket to not be 85% grizzly and sliced thick. Who doesn't shave a brisket. The cornbread was void of any moisture and seeing how half was cold and half hot, I'm not sure what they were going for. I will say the ribs and steak my wife had were very good and I enjoyed the tomato and cucumber salad, which is very had to screw up. The atmosphere is very lively and unique, but the service is a bit choppy. I'm glad we took the time to experience it, but I'll find better ways to spend $60 bucks next time.
Had the 3 meat plate, ribs, brisket and wings with side of fries and mac n cheese. Ribs and brisket were great, as good or better than most of the Texas bbq joints I've been to. Wings were a little on the dry side, fries and mac n cheese were above average, really good bbq sauce. 5/5, especially for northern bbq.
By far one of the BEST restaurants we have been too we have been going there for about 3 yrs. Love it staff is super friendly
The fried green tomatoes we're awesome. Server was great.
We had the full size ribs for two and smoked chicken wings. As always the flavor and taste was there and we enjoyed it. However the portion size for the side dishes was extremely small. The dinner was for two and we received the size for one person. They have great variety for side dishes but please be mindful that when the menu says for two the portion size should reflect that. Service was good
.
If you are in the Syracuse area this is a must stop location for BBQ. Great atmosphere and ridiculously good food. The smoked wings are phenomenal and you can t go wrong. The deviled eggs are top notch for an appetizer as well. Pulled pork is usually spot on. You won t find a bad meal here, but you ll likely find a wait when during lunch/dinner times.
Really delicious! Would recommend the three meat platter with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and mac n cheese on the side.
We stopped in for a quick bite at the suggestion of a coworker. The restaurant had a crowd, even on a weekday afternoon. The food quality and taste were very good and the prices weren't bad.
Everything great. Portions huge. Service fast and friendly.
We LOVE Dinosaur BBQ! Every time we travel to Syracuse we eat here multiple times! We are from Kansas City so we don t take bbq lightly and this place is one of my absolute favorites and great service as well! Love the live music!
Ordered food at 7 was told food would be ready for pick up until 9:15 get there and informed that they ran out of pulled pork customer service skills are terrible at this establishment I mean really 2 hour wait to not get anything I ordered
I just love dinosaur bbq! The food is great! Love the energy and atmosphere! The best brisket and collard greens!
Some of the best southern BBQ you'll find up north.
Was coming back from upstate New York and me and a friend pulled off here to grab lunch, it was a welcome rest stop from the long drive we had taken. Great barbecue great drinks cool atmosphere
Exceptional!
Busiest night of their operation and they stopped the entire process to make room at a special table for my two young men in power chairs. The food was, as always, incredible and the service was spunky and done with a smile.very attentive too. Thank you Sarah, Scotty, and Sarge you made our night feel normal. Amazing effort in every way!
A biker bar with very good barbeque, worth waiting for a table! Several beer selections, fun time for sure!
One of my favorite places to eat. Brisket is ridiculous! Sauces are very good! Be ready for a crowded loud atmosphere. Your server will probably be short in conversation and brash but hey it's a biker bar! Decent beer selection and good live music. But go for the food! Or get it to go!
Food was great as was the service. A short 15 minute wait before being seated was no problem so grabbed some drinks in the bar. Everything was great, chicken, pork and brisket were up there with some of the best I've had. You won't be disappointed....well unless you're a vegetarian I guess.
Hands down best ribs I have eaten. They went out of their way to get me the right souvenir shirts... Would definitely go back
Great service, food, and atmosphere! They also have cool shirts for sale as well!
I really was looking forward to coming here after hearing rave reviews from colleagues who had been here. Having grown up in East Texas, my confidence in judging BBQ is high. The early signs were all extremely positive: 2 blocks away, (parking is a challenge) a great smoky aroma permeates the neighborhood. The beer selection of local craft brews is diverse and the service is excellent! The fried green tomatoes were perfect and the wings are seasoned appropriately. Disappointed in the brisket as half of the slices were dry and overdone but the other half of them were moist and incredibly good. The ribs were drop dead delicious and the meat just pulls apart so nicely from the bone. Unfortunately, the chicken was somewhat dry, too. Ultimately, I'll go back for the ribs, the service and the atmosphere. A fun place to dine in downtown Syracuse.
There should be a nice strong air freshener in the bathroom. Lost my appetite once I went there. Food and service was good but that smell, geeeee.
Syracuse's crown jewel in my opinion. You could smell the pit almost a mile away, as if it were beckoning you through the front door... I may never get to see heaven, but I've had Dinosaur BBQ's brisket... And thats close enough for me.
Always a good time. Last time I vistited they were even happy to acknowledge my sister's celiacs disease, which I was not expecting from a BBQ joint. I've never left disappointed
Good food and great live music. Can't do much better than that!
Great food. They have a separate gluten free menu with lots of different options. Will definitely have to go again.
I've been here about 20 times over the past 6 years. Dinosaur is fantastic, no-frills barbecue. You can't really go wrong with the menu, but my advice is to skip the sandwiches and burgers and get a classic barbecue dish. My favorite is the brisket platter, but the ribs are a close second. And like any good barbecue place, the sides are just as good as the meats. Their greens are the best I've ever had, and the chili and mac and cheese are great too. There are many sauce options, and they even sell them in some stores. Dinosaur is not the cheapest, but you get huge portions for the price and I often have some leftovers even after stuffing my face.
Today is my birthday and I got lunch with my mother at Dinosaur. She brought a cake to celebrate. Our server gave us no trouble with our bringing the cake from outside, and even got us plates for it. Overall the service at Dinosaur isn't always spectacular, but it's always adequate and a few of the servers are really great.
Overall, Dinosaur is always my #1 choice and recommendation when visiting Syracuse.
This is the best bbq I have had since Houston... Awesome friendly staff... I highly recommended them... You will not regret it...
Good stuff. A long way from Texas, sure. But darn good.
Omg! What else can I say? Theres a reason this place has won awards! Go! Eat!
Great food. Great service. Everyone was so friendly.
This place was recommended by friends and is well worth the hype. Well worth the wait that I'm told is very normal.
I travel quite a bit and I'm not a fan of experiencing chain restaurants around the country. I instead love to find places like this place to experience the local cuisine.
Food was very good and the atmosphere is very unique and great. Everyone that I asked about Dinasour BarBQ before going there said it was there favorite place to go and it lived up to their reputation.
The takeout line is outside and after a short wait my food was ready but when I got to the car - it wasn't what I ordered. Not only did they correct it and made my order quickly but they made me up a goodie bag with yummy cornbread, brownies and a big bottle of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Sauce! They didn't have to do all that but that's good customer service! Next time I'm definitely ordering more of the cornbread!
Omg. Seriously is all I can say is omg. The food was fantastic, great service, every one was so nice. We are from Oklahoma and this place out did BBQ joints back home. We will definitely be back.
Very unhappy with the food, every thing came out cold
The BBQ here is just delicious. Had pulled pork, Mac and cheese and potatoes. Everything was so good.
Went there for lunch. Great service. Friendly staff. The food was delicious.
Not as good as usual. The BBS sandwich was served on a regular cheap premade hamburger bun. The buns they normally use really help make this sandwich what it is.
This place is great..we came in on a Tuesday night and there was live music...I got the combo with pulled pork & brisket. Meats were smokey, pink and flavorfull. I got to sample the mac and cheese side that accidentally came with my meal. Just a warning, that's a little too peppery for my taste, but everything else was top notch. :)
Great BBQ food! While Returning from Niagara Falls, Syracuse was our stop and we headed to this place for brunch. Even in the 11.30 am on a Sunday morning it was hugely crowded. We had to wait for 30 mins to get a table. The food was worth the wait. Fried Green Tomatoes, Creole Spiced Deviled Eggs, Bronzed Catfish and Brisket plate were all we had! Each of them is worth mentioning. But best was the deviled eggs! It was just amazing! We really loved their food, ambiance, decors and service. The best BBQ we had till date.
Great BBQ near the heart of Syracuse, New York. It is very popular (for a good reason) and can get quite crowded during mealtime. I have enjoyed the meals I have eaten at this BBQ restaurant. The have some great brisket and pulled pork plates, perfectly grilled meats. They also have a couple of local beers on tap. I look forward to my next visit, hopefully soon.
The food was good. A bit overpriced. Parking was hard to find.
Best slaw I ever had! Friendly staff great smoky pork you can smell a block away just follow your nose.
Went for take out. Awesome dinner. Friendly and very helpful staff.
I had the ribs. They were pretty good. Meaty and filling. Side dishes were chilli (average) and tomato cucumber salad (very good).
Service was really good and the waitress did an excellent job of paying attention without being in our face.
The atmosphere is fun and a little loud. We are told it gets really busy but we arrived around 430pm and had a very short wait for a table.
The beer selection is pretty good. About 20 on tap. I had a local Syracuse beer by middle aged brewing. It was really good.
I tried the ribeye, it was cooked as requested but a bit too much char for my tastes.
I'd definitely go back and eat again but I'd downsize to the half rack of ribs because the sides were really filling
Like the Dino BBQ in Harlem gr8 BBQ, good atmosphere, good service.
Best BBQ this side of the St. Lawrence river! *Southern accent"
The only spot in Syracuse that you must go to if you're looking for some phenomenal BBQ! I always get the BBS platter which is a brisket sandwich with cheese and bacon along with two sides. I also suggest you try their nachos. They're fantastic! They come on a big tray so there's plenty to share. Definitely add the brisket to them as well for the extra $2, totally worth it.
Food was spectacular, with only one exception, the mac and cheese did not wow. And it's very busy, so expect a wait.
The food was amazing however the 1 hour and 20 min wait for seating was a bit to be desired! But food has been amazing everytime we have been
I did a small leisurely trip to Syracuse in the winter (so I was limited on what I could do), everyone and their mother recommended Dino BBQ to me. I had a brisket sandwich with mac n' cheese as my side. I will say the BBQ was good and I highly recommend calling ahead to place your order for pickup as it was insanely busy. My only disappointment was this BBQ was not as life-changing as everyone said it would be. The BBQ is quite good for the "Northern BBQ", but quite average when comparing it to the restaurant's of the south.
Great food! Great service. Highly recommend the brisket.
Had to wait way longer than we were told by the hostess when we arrived.
If u are looking for a great BBQ restaurant to eat your came to the right place. They have everything u could ask for on the menu. They have a great bar area great and friendly staff and a great atmosphere. My son and I went and help absolutely loves it. We are from the Utica area and drive to Syracuse just for the dinosaur BBQ. It s known for there ribs beef brisket and all other BBQ food all over the world. They make there own sauces and are delicious. The food comes out at a respectable time and the staff is great. They have great music and stuff to do while u eat. If your in the Syracuse area I highly recommend stopping having a drink and indulge into some of the best BBQ u will ever eat
It was good but the portions were very small especially for the price you paid. Left hungry after an expensive dinner for 2.
This was my first (and will not be my last) visit here, and I am impressed. The food was delicious, the server was fast and friendly, and and atmosphere was fun and intimate at the same time. I love the quirky history of the building - I look forward to my next visit to try all the things. Pictured is the two item combo: brisket, sausage, beans and rice, and greens.
Part beer joint part biker bar 100% great bbq. Baked beans, cornbread, brisket, pulled pork, deviled eggs, etc. are all fantastic. Table caddy full of their own bbq sauces and such is killer touch. Service is always great, those gals really know thier business. Coleslaw is meh. Must stop when nearby. Think off hours or you are gonna wait. Heck even off hours ya wait. Worth it though.
Sauce was good, not tasteless LINDA.
It did stain my good pants though, and my wife Linda couldn't get the stain out, we had to take my pants to the local cleaners, but I'm not sure I trust them, they might be ripping us off.
10/10 not gonna bring Linda next time, kept bitching about it being imitation dinosaur.
I have BBQ down the street that is pretty good, but sometimes I need a 100 mile road trip to Dinosaur because it is in a class by itself.
Great BBQ, great beer! Had several people suggest this spot while we were in town visiting. Was not let down!! Had the original pulled pork. So delicious!
The ribs were awesome! All the BBQ here is solid, they have a good sauce as well. Different but everything was delicious.
At the risk of sounding like an ad ... Eat here if you are looking for GREAT BBQ look nowhere else. Well worth ANY wait!
The food is AMAZING. My favorite is the pulled chicken with the cracklin on top. And of course the macaroni and cheese can't be beat!
Not happy...this is the best in town..???..well it wasnt..I am from michigan and I have had so many different types of ribs and chicken and I left a 13 dollar tip....wish i was closer i would return what i didnt eat...but cook your ribs longer...
