I used to come here with my grandparents. I think the zoo is beautiful, large in size. There is something for everyone. I will continue to find the 'tunnel' with aquatic animals beautiful and impressive. You can see that there is a lot of love for the animals.

Divided into two parts of the aquarium and the zoo, I will take a tour of the aquarium and then take a small train for 1 per person to the other side of the zoo. I can choose to walk but it will be far away. There are signs along the way but I feel that it is not clear enough to get lost. Every place is really a day, there are restaurants in the park but not much business.

Beautiful park without a doubt but just like almost all attraction parks and zoos far too expensive in terms of entrance and drinks. It is likely to be inflation, but 26 per person cannot be paid by ", Jan Modaal". So based on prices this moderate 2-star park is neat and ok

Great place for a day outing where you can find all kind of animals and birds. I would suggest to visit this place in summer where many of the animals freely roam around outside and the kids have fun watching them. Summer also means that this place will be crowded and make sure to reach early in the morning by 9 or 10 and spend the entire day there. There are also good food options available inside the zoo. If you are staying close by, consider getting a yearly pass so that you can visit when needed.

Most beautiful zoo we have visited in the Netherlands. Much transition from inside to outside and through different continents in design. The park was neat and clean and there is no lack of sufficient bins. Due to the well-arranged route, you will not miss anything during your visit.

Very nice park! A lot of green and the animals look good. In recent years, many new living areas have been created for the animals, making the park look very modern. The park is spacious and has many waste bins. Nevertheless, there is still quite a bit of junk in the park (and sometimes even in the enclosures). I will definitely go here more often!

Very nice zoo. To begin with, they have a huge aquarium with lots of different fish. In addition, all kinds of things to admire. Furthermore, you have many "standard" animals. Like elephants, lions, tigers, etc. The famous gorilla Bokito also lives here. Furthermore, various playgrounds for the kids. There is also thought about the inner nature of man. Because there are several restaurants. Because it is especially striking in a positive sense that it is clean and the animals have quite a lot of space. Recommended !!

Beautiful zoo. Come here from 4 years and am now 66. In all those years, everything has only become more beautiful, such as the living space for all animals and the imitation of their natural environment, beautiful. I also think that all the greenery along the hiking trails is very well maintained, so I keep coming back.

Perfect zoo to visit with babies for a fun day out. Good and yummy food sold in the zoo. Perfect walkways through the whole zoo so totally bring your stroller. A variety of species. We loved the polar bears. We are definitely going back.

Do not get me wrong. I really like the zoo. It is restaurant "terrace room" that gets this rating from me. The restaurant is not so attentive and does not pay any attention to his / her guests. People who came in later were helped earlier .... is that because I have a different color? I will immediately think of that. Then you have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a simple coke ... BIZARR !!!

Had a wonderful day out with the tickets of the AH action. Especially now many young animals. It's a pity that the wolves have left the Europe part and the otters in the Asian garden did not show themselves.

Been a lot already, even now that I no longer live...

Been a lot already, even now that I no longer live in Rotterdam but an hour away we still go often with the family and have a subscription.
Blijdorp has the unique gift of providing a wonderful day with the family during a normal visit, but also regularly offering unique experiences if you know where to look.
A few tips, in no specific order but from the heel to the branch:
- Download the app and note the feeding times.
- Feeding the sea lions is a must-see. Make sure that you are on the left viewing platform 10 minutes before feeding, then you are in front and you have the best view. It is certainly spectacular for the children (but also for the adults) to see and is always very nice done by the caretaker. Above too full / are you a little late? Downstairs in front of the large window gives a very different picture but is also great to watch from there.
- The feeding of the rays may sound a bit boring, but these beautiful animals are fed by hand from the visitor's side over the glass one by one. You are literally beside it and all rays know exactly what time it is, so they all gather at the caretaker. There is some splattering ...
- In the butterfly garden, the enormous fish (lost from the name) and the piranhas are fed one after the other. Again a lot of swirling water, with a good story from the caretakers. The butterfly garden is definitely recommended, especially with small children, and don't forget the frogs, snake and turtle cages on the side of the butterfly garden. And it's very hot!
- There are more animals that are fed on a schedule, which you can plan well, but these are our favorites. In addition, sometimes you just have to be lucky: A snake that just gets a mouse or the wild boar that gets a bowl of fruit and vegetables thrown into the loft. A bit of right place / right time, but that makes it even more fun if you happen to be there.
- In terms of animals, the big boys are great at Blijdorp. The elephants have a beautiful outdoor area where you can walk almost all the way through a beautiful path, with the tigers you walk into the enclosure with windows on both sides, so there is sometimes only a glass wall and 30 cm separating you from the huge beast (and they regularly show up close), the lions have a nice inside and outside loft and if the polar bear is swimming, keep waiting! Best chance that he seeks interaction at the window, and that is unique! And of course Bokito and family: inside you can see very well and from close by, despite Blijdorp's effort to give good visibility, I find it a bit less, but on the contrary completely customized for the gorillas and that is ultimately what it's all about. I personally like it when you can get close to the animals, but given the history maybe a little less advisable with Bokito.
- Tips for smaller / lesser-known animals: the Amur panther (beautiful beast, doesn't show much), the penguins (shooting through the water), the fishing cats (hidden gem) and seahorses (in the oceanium and yes, your children are alone but find Nemo in the bins next to it).
- The oceanium is of course a showpiece of the zoo. Immediately at the entrance, it is one of the first locations the visitor goes through. We often skip the oceanium because it gets very noisy in the first part at the aquariums and the underwater tunnel, but if you go once you have to go through it. I would recommend looking for a quiet moment: If you are early, first go deeper into the park and leave the oceanium before the end.
- There are so many more beautiful places and animals to discover in Blijdorp. Time and again!
- Do you think you go more often? You can cancel a subscription in 3 visits. And if you decide to take out a subscription at the end of your visit, they will settle the ticket for that day in your subscription.
- Plan your visit, think about what you want to see, but be especially surprised! After fifty visits I still find those unique moments.

It's a very nice zoo, probably the second nicest in the country. On the day I was there it was quite busy, it was a Saturday. What worked very well for us, to not be too limited by the busyness, was to not park at the main entrance. Parking at the main entrance will also cost you 11. If you park by the old entrance you pay about 1,70 per hour (so it could get more expensive). But because less people start their day on that side of the zoo, you'll usually be at more quiet places.

Seen a few zoos such as Berlin and Prague but this one really surprised me! Loads to see and makes a great day when the weather is nice. The butterfly garden was my favorite. Also has a fascinating oceanium. There is a playground and a restaurant as well as plenty of places to grab drinks ice cream etc. lots of bathrooms around the park too. There is a bike parking by the old entrance and a large car parking by the new one. Zoo is also right by the center so well located. Highly recommended!

Mooi ingerichte dierentuin.
Jl
