Poorly organized heritage days. A catamaran. A crowd not up to date on the site 5% we say nickel, we confirm our reservation and we take the car (outskirts of Lyon no tcl) we arrive we tell you too much waiting too many people you will not see the rooms come back a other day !! Of course, the parking must be paid 1.80 for not having seen anything this is the entrance. And have to manage the disappointment of the children!

Anyone interested in architecture is in the right place there, COOP sky blue and totally exciting from different perspectives.
Unfortunately no parking space directly on site but further away (it was raining heavily)

A very beautiful exhibition, well organized, adapted to the youngest and which invites reflection.
Unfortunately this day would have been much more enjoyable if the security staff had been more respectful. Obviously these gentlemen no longer know the difference between a delinquent and a simple father. All this for a cutter that I myself gave at the entrance (and yes, I open boxes, it's my job ...) I was treated with a lot of aggressiveness and rudeness in front of my family. I find it lamentable and above all very unfortunate for such a beautiful place.

It's a big and well designed museum of natural history and history of humanity. There are dinosaurs with models you can touch, great installations and media on the formation of solar system and Earth, collection of religious items and totems, old and new technologies etc. The building itself is quite extraordinary

Very large museum that I made with 2 children (6 and 12 years old). I found the exhibitions not very fun for them. I expected a lot from the dinosaur exhibition and I was left wanting more: 3 skeletons and a few fossils were not worth as much publicity. It is a good museum for adults but with children I do not recommend it. Passing tickets on each floor also makes the visit quite laborious.

A very nice museum with unique pieces, including meteorites you can touch. There's a exposition for kids that they will love. The structure of the place is very nice, and around have some area where you can eat your food (like picnic) (there's also a cafeteria but you shouldn't picnic there). The tramway is super practical, will let you just in from of the place.

I suddenly have the limpid sensation of having wasted my youth ... To have seen her escape from my hands like the frightened eel and call me now on the ivy of the tomb, where has always been the song of children, stolen grapes ...

In short, modern architecture, can be a little too modern and not at all practical or even optimized, lost space as far as the eye can see ...

Exhibitions are cluttered, misclassified or not classified at all, little detailed or no explanation at all, a simple name is enough after all.

The prices for eating are exorbitant and the poor quality gourmet coffee (it's your wallet that will take a hit ...) 78 for 4 people! Stick to the classic sandwitch. The area allocated to this space is ridiculous ...

The parking is not given either (thankfully it's a reduced price thanks to the museum) 10 for 4 hours ... Moreover it is out of reach of the museum. With a building of this kind you would have thought they had at least considered underground parking, it is not so ... For the disabled I wish them much pleasure.

A museum specializing in futuristic architecture and through the multitude of exhibition halls, it is endowed with the latest equipment from lights, elevators, projectors for exhibition halls. At the main entrance there are metal detector gates as in the airport, which makes you feel safe. Tickets can also be taken from the net, for those who do not want to stand in queues, in a busy day can stay for half an hour. Parking is free and is 500 meters from the museum, but once the parking ticket is validated on the specially designed device inside the museum, you receive a discount from the standard rate.
Because one day may not be enough to visit all the showrooms, it is recommended that your visit start as early as possible. There is also a bistro on the premises where the food is very good and the service excellent.

I think we come to museums to enrich our knowledge. The exhibitions are superb but almost forbid me not to take pictures revolts me. The zeal of the security agents is unbearable, it looks like the order of the African heads of state! In what way the flash of a smartphone can damage the works and a selfie? I can prove it scientifically that it's junk. If there is no improvement, I will not put my feet down and hello bad publicity ...

A museum to see ... and to review for temporary exhibitions.
I joined the permanent exhibitions less which lack a bit of pep for my taste.
However, the museum is very good at satisfying both young and old.

Given the size of the building, we expect to see wonders all day long.
In fact, they are only huge corridors, disproportionate spaces that are useless.
The part "permanent exhibitions" quickly turn to the catch-all. It looks like we did the attic funds to find things to present. The pedagogical approach of the themes is neglected and uninteresting. Really little to see.
3 contemporary hominids are represented, but Denisova's man is missing. For a recent museum, this task is this scientific oversight.
Next door is contemporary statues and stuffed animals. We do not understand anything! It would have been interesting to make a theme on human evolution.
As for the part "temporary exhibitions" on the 1st floor, in 15 minutes you have done the trick.

This museum will remain the worst I have visited. Even free, I will not go back .. And we really say leaving this building "All that for that".

Exhibitions of very good quality, very interesting and visually stunning subjects. This museum deserves several visits, very pleasant walks. 2 flats the external appearance is not convincing I see mostly a spaceship. Shop and brewery close a little too early.

A well chosen place, (public transport), various exhibitions and very well presented. Ordinary but practical restoration. Be careful there is nothing in the neighborhood to eat! As a family, alone, with friends, a beautiful cultural place for all. Warning: search bags: your little picnic knife will not pass. It's normal but you have to be better informed. Good visit!

The museum itself is great.

The museum itself is great.
But some small flat: to start, an excavation even more push than in an airport ... (those who took the tickets on the internet did not have a queue for them so 30 min wait to start).
The staff is exasperating, limit cry on visitors (client) that is at the level of the excavation when in the queues for the exhibitions.
I believe that they did not understand that he was not a prison guard but faced family.
The rooms are poorly indicated and finally no trash in the corridors ...

Very nice permanent exhibition on the world, its origins, species, societies, the future of the world ....
And superb setting, the architecture of the museum evoking a spaceship! Just beautiful !

Exterior architecture is what it is. I prefer that of Mucem. But the rooms are 100 times better. Rejuvenate old collections with updates
modern scene it was not won. And it is frankly successful. Against the arrival is very poorly indicated and when we found the parking,
you have to cross a no-man-land with women in small clothes. Bizarre for the neighborhood under renovation.

Massive and mineral building. Inside, a beautiful permanent exhibition made up in part of the Guimet collection (not quoted enough) and very well done. Superb exhibition dedicated to the collection of headdresses from the world by Antoine de Galbery, which donated them to the museum in 2017.

I went through this museum on my last visit to Lyon and I can not help saying that it is rather modern. The descriptions of this museum are rather vague on the internet. It is often referred to as a museum of civilizations and anthropology, which means both a lot and not much. Finally, after visit, these qualifications correspond well to the museum.
There are exhibitions both on natural history and on the history of distant civilizations. The armor of the Momoyama period is spectacular (16th century in Japan) and the collections of stones and fossils are quite impressive.
However, I find that the exhibitions are rather short and not necessarily relevant when looking for a precise and detailed subject. It is therefore a very convincing family museum and the number of children present can only confirm what I have said. You will find in this museum tracks to be interested in sciences or cultures, but you can simply go there to have a good time!

Atypical and architecturally expensive place (which will never replace the old-fashioned charm of the Guillemet Museum it replaces). The scenography of the exhibitions are always good and often adapted to the little ones. The car park is located on the other side of the A7 bridge.
