Went to see A Christmas Carol today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been to several of the Christmas performances over the past few years and they've all been excellent. Nice venue, clean and comfortable and not too large. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing abstract Ballet. Worth the money
Actually went to the studio theatre which is weirdly accessed via the car park but a great intimate venue. Get your drink upstairs and visit the loo before you come down to it as no facilities in this little auditorium. 1 star off for changing the showtime to half an hour earlier start a week before the performance :)

Just been to see Birdsong. Amazing breathtaking performance. Portrayed the book brilliantly. I was spellbound.

Been and watched a brilliant play of rainman all the actors and actresses where amazing, this play is well worth a visit in the excellent derby theatre.
The only problem we had was the seat numbering.letterline was ok. However once settled down we had a great evening.thank you

Fantastic performance of the Cristmas Carol, the cast was very engaging with audience and they all deserved a standing ovation, fantastic to see Derby has this quality of Theatre performance as we throughly enjoyed our day to the theatre, well done to all involved.

A nice theatre located in Derby ITU shopping centre, the theatre itself holds about two hundred people , good view from most seats , the usual drink and snacks available at the bar and cafe downstairs
Always enjoy going to the theatre here. Great choice of shows and friendly service.
Nice small theatre in a fantastic location.
Sadly the style of the roof and "smoke" from a previous performance left the room, cloudy, disorientating and quite uncomfortable, bit once the lights where off and the show started it was fine.
Seating is adequate, but not the best and space between the seats doesn't leave much room for people getting past.
Took my son there as he is considering going to the University and this would be ideal

Outstanding Theatre with many good shows at reasonable prices. We visit here at least 6 times a year to see some exciting performances. Seats are comfortable and the view, wherever you sit, is good with clear sound quality. I have only had one really bad pantomine to report on which was not suitable for children in 2015. There is a small cafe downstairs selling items at a reasonable price and a bar upstairs for starter and interval spirit drinks. The ice creams during the interval are a total rip off price but for a special occasion Yum Yum
Nice modern theatre... plays and dance ... always enjoyable... not a bad seat in the house
We went as a family to see Goldilocks in what I believe is called The Studio. The storyline loosely follows the story I'm familiar with but the interpretation we saw was original and was enjoyed tremendously by my kids. I admit that i felt a little cheated as I was expecting something more traditional but that's not to say I didn't enjoy the show because I did. I'm now left wondering do I go next year or do I go for a full panto, time will tell

I have been here a couple of times now and find it really good. The seats are comfortable and leg room is not too cramped. There's a good rake too so unless Goliath sits in front of you your view of the stage is unrestricted. Handy for parking as it is part of a large shopping centre. My only complaint is a lack of cloakroom, which meant having to sit with my large winter coat draped over my legs.
I'm a regular visitor to Derby playhouse...it is a great place to visit ..There's a lovely cafe with home made cakes...The theatre it's self is very modern and has all the latest update plays. By modern writers .
It's a magical place. If you think this is not your thing I urge you to try it .

Booking process very easy . Close to car park ( cheap evening rate ) . Seats reasonably comfortable . Went to see Derby Scouts Gang Show which was very good .

Lovely theatre, with good acoustics. Staff are nice, friendly and polite and toilets are clean. However drinks and snacks are a bit expensive. But no more than any other similar venue, I suppose.
Not the best theatre in the world, but has pretty good shows from time to time.

My two granddaughters aged 2 & 5 absolutely loved Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The studio theatre is just the right size for small children and the stage is close so holding their attention. Brilliant.

Fantastic Derby Theatre nice staff, very clean ,the show was fantastic.
Very nice place, clean, good facilities, had a great view of the show, sound was good performance was excellent. About the only niggle I'd have is that I was ready to purchase some merchandise after the show ended because the queues were huge during the interval but the stand had closed by the time we exited the auditoriu which was a shame.
Otherwise though fantastic night. I can't believe I left it 25 years since I last visited Derby Theatre, or the Playhouse as it was then. Took a summer show listing with me.

Another fantastic children's show both boys loved it agss 4 yrs and 11 mths. The music, dancing and set and lighting all wonderful. The staff friendly and helpful xxx
Great stage and personal atmosphere. Excellent view from every seat. The front row seats were at a perfect height for viewing the stage.
