The short story

The short story

Windows and new door supplied by Dempsey Dyer and installed by a third party. The front door was replaced twice for varies reasons and now the 3rd one has cracked and is bowed so does not seal and lock properly. The windows are also bowed and do not seal properly letting air in and sound from the road outside. DD sent guys round and they said the door needs to be replaced and the windows have been hung incorrectly causing them to bow (interesting reason that I disagreed with)
They agreed to replace the door for free but I had to pay hundreds pounds for transport which was crazy as it is under warranty (I m sure their guys could have dropped it off for free when they passed by?) they photos can explain the gaps and cracks and why I m angry they they as a big company cannot sort these issues out. They are clearly faulty products. I can t see how the installed could bow the window considering they were bowed when installed and I was told to keep them closed and they will straighten up? I ve had to put draft strip on the windows to stop the air in winter and they said that was also the issue - a joke

Basically I ve paid a lot of money for new windows and a door that s are performing worse then the 30year old one I had before.

What a bloody joke

Absolute nightmare. got someone i know to supply and fit windows for me. i asked for irish oak frames with a shiny lead bar in. also one of the windows is anarched shape. Firstly the arch window frame came made with too many joints in so had to be sent back to be remade. Then my fitter rang to say he was coming to fit the windows a couple of days later. I arranged time off work and when my fitter arrived to pick the windows up there wasnt any glass there. Apparently the girl in the office had forgot to order it. When my glass finally arrived and were been fitted we noticed that my shiny lead bar was all marked. My fitter took pictures of it to show the company. that night it rained and oh my god my windows looked an absolute mess. Apparently this was how they were suppose to look as they were oxidising. Not quite the nice shiny lead bar that i wanted. windows look an absolute mess. My arch window was finally fitted today and yet again another problem. When my fitter went to pick it up he noticed a deep scratch on glass from one end to the other. Luckily he noticed it before he left the premises so they ordered another one. If you are thinking of purchasing anything from this company beware because if anything goes wrong they wont want to know and will not try to help you resolve it. They have no idea of customer service. It has been left to my fitter and myself to pay for new glass to sort out the mess they caused.
