Beautiful property and main building. Lots to do and even more close by. Stayed in one of the condos and was content with it surprised by the size. Only ate one meal in the few restaurants available but wasn't overly impressed by the food in the bar/grill spot. Frozen fries/fingers and rubbery chicken sandwich, I expected food made in house for the price and status of the place. Service in the restaurant wasn't anything special (server didn't know if they served coke or Pepsi products) and didn't check our food until we were almost done despite being the only table. Rest of the staff was great and helpful. I would definitely come back just maybe skip the bar/grill.

Overpriced. Lots of hidden resort fees. I do not like seeing hidden fees. I believe if you are going to advertise a price you should be able to purchase at that price. Not the case here as you will get hit with pricey resort fees on top. Shouldn't be allowed and seems like this is becoming the norm sadly. We stayed down the road for much cheaper and no resort fee.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous! From the grounds to the rooms, everything is great. The only problem my group had was with the restaurants. Where the food was delicious, the service was incredibly slow. The first night, it took 45 mins for a drink order. Our server was quite rude and mouthy to the guests, telling us to hurry up and order while we asked questions about the food. The next night, we had a different server, who was pleasant, but gave me the bill twice. Once pointed out, there was no issue, and the server apologized. Aside from those instances, I would still highly recommend this resort, as the good definitely outweighs the bad.

Our trip: 6 days 5 nights 3 bedroom condo Arrived on Sunday, and checked in at 5pm however room wasn't ready. The lady (Emallee) was sincere and apologetic, gave us a $100 room credit and $100 discount from our stay for our troubles. We received a text at 6:11pm saying our room was available but there was a leak and for our inconvenience now given a 50% discount off our nightly rate for that night because it will be fixed. -We were not convinced. Arrived at our 3 bedroom condo located at Maple ridge building 23 Room 102, to find one ensuite washroom fully unusable. It was in the room with two queen beds. Despite the leak, the shower curtains had bugs and there was no a/c. We were told the previous guest blasted the a/c causing the pipes to burst. We went back to the front desk to request a new room but was told there was none. They instead gave us two rooms in the main building 206 and 208. We were given a refund on one nights stay. We were told we had to vacate one room at 11 but could stay in the other until our new condo room was made available. We planned to cook during our stay but the rooms in the main building was not equipped with a kitchen, so the food we brought had to be kept in coolers. We worried that it would all go bad and go to waste. These are not things guests should have to worry about. Rooms 206 and 208 were sufficient, had two queen beds. The rooms were clean but small when we had to move everything into one room the day after. Our room keys stopped working at 11 even when I went to front desk to return one room. We had to explain our situation in order to get a working room key. At 2, the room key stopped working again and we had to go to front desk to get another one, then told our condo was available. At that time, my child was napping so we didn't move right away. She woke up at 4 and we moved right away but received a call from Paige and was rushed out right away because the guest for that room checked in. She was adamant that 20 min was too long and sent the guest concierge to help me. The gentleman was extremely nice to carry my bags when the bellhops weren't available. The good: During the day, we went to the beachfront, to do some water activities. The boys were helpful in showing us how to paddle. And even directed us to the cottage where you sign waivers. We got the chance to kayak, canoe and paddleboard. There was no shortage and you help yourself to the equipment. The new room was in building 23 room 105. This room was so much cleaner and to our surprise had newer toilets and dishwasher cleaner, detergent and a sponge. (Room 102 did not have those). The a/c worked. I would suggest requesting this room if possible. There are steps that lead to the door so may not be as easily accessible for those with mobility issues. Other than that, we were happy. -will update with more when available

Unfortunate that customer service and the customer being right no longer seem to exist at Deerhurst Resort. After visiting personally many times over the past 20 years and sending sales reps here for winning contests, I regret to say we will not return. I booked a room last month for my sales rep and wife to visit on their anniversary. Upon arrival they were immediately put off when made to feel like second class citizens for not having a credit card to provide. They were then informed that the theatre tickets my booking agent said she was throwing in had now become only ONE ticket. This was never explained to me and unfortunately I got nothing in writing, stupidly taking the booking agents word for it. When I calmly explained that I was told ticket"S " were included I crazily assumed that meant 2. The front desk employee snappily stated she would "review the recordings" and get back to me. She never did get back to me, instead leaving a voicemail on the room phone saying 1 ticket was all that was included. A crappy way of handling a simple situation. That show is going on whether there are 20 people attending or 200. Throwing in both tickets was just a no brainer. Sorry Deerhurst. There are tons of fabulous resorts to choose from. You will no longer be on the list.

A beautiful hotel to feel good in the middle of nature. Very large golf course, a beautiful lake, good restaurants and large North American room with two beds. However, this is the star deduction. The beds in our room had their best days behind them, we had after two days already totally hurt.
However, the proximity to algonquin Park is perfect and so is the free parking.

It's a good place to take your family/ kids, the beach is nice ,the swimming pools are decent& food is OK. However if you have a boat....the docking fees 50$ a night & there is no outlet to charge your batteries, but that's not the worse part.....they have no boat launch inside the resort! You have to drive 10 KM away to a place to launch your boat. That's a shame, it was very inconvenient in that aspect.

It was really fun, I loved the place where the snow flowed up (editor note:a staircase with an updraft). I loved the climbing wall, and the pool, and it's a really fun place to visit. I'd definitely recommend it.

The New Years Eve buffet at almost $100/plate was completely overpriced for the average food offered. I'm pretty sure the mashed potatoes were mixed with instant. But what was a complete and utter disappointment was the kids new years countdown. After hyping up the night, and keeping the kids up extra late, the DJ was pathetic with no warning and a 5 second count down.
Will not be returning

Good for a weekend getaway. Enjoyed our time here. Rooms are nice and clean. Plenty of activities on the property. Workers at the resort were very friendly. Food was pretty pricey at the restaurant though. Try to ask for a room that's not on the ground floor though because our room opened straight out to the ground. Would be weird in the summer if people were walking around.

Our room we were initially booked in was dated, dirty and looked nothing like the photos. I've never complained at a hotel before but we just about got in the car and drove 3 hours back home. We were accommodated by the friendly staff (thank you) and moved to a different room which was greatly appreciated. I feel like Deerhurst Resort is good for families with small children but as a couples get away it leaves a little to be desired.

This was our first visit... The property was beautiful and well kept, and the staff was very friendly. The service in the dining areas was slow during peak times. We enjoyed the food but found meals expensive for the quality offered. The pool and kids' areas were great. The in-room wireless internet often cut out or was hard to access.

What once was a beautiful getaway is showing signs...
What once was a beautiful getaway is showing signs of old age that requires upgrades. They have clearly spent money to expand capacity by adding more rooms, but have neglected to maintain the existing rooms and amenities. We stayed in the Summit Lodge for a few nights and although it's close to all amenities, there was signs of water damage to the walls, worn out furniture and lacked any signs of recent upgrades. The sound transfer through the walls was awful, especially from above and below. We were consistently woken up by early risers (ie. 6am), who didn't seem to be trying to make excessive noise. The golf course now only features 9 holes, as the other 9 was converted to a Frisbee golf course. They have two tennis courts, two basketball nets (one of which was completely bent and not useable). Beyond that food was mediocre. It does not deserve the mentions it gets across media outlets for weekend getaway. This place needs some work (or to drop their prices to justify the quality of the resort) before I'd decide to go back!

Overall it's a nice place. We stayed in the main building and everything is clean and well kept. We had a basic room with 2 beds. Comfortable, but nothing special. Indoor pool is nice. Decent size and clean. Hot tub is crazy hot. The stay includes use of most things like tennis courts, inflatable water obstacle course type thing, small beach, various water craft (canoes, kayaks, paddleboards etc.). There are free shows on different days- we got a magic show which was good. There are free shuttles to get you around the resort if yiu don't feel like walking. The restaurants are expensive. The dinner buffet was $38, offered little selection and wasn't all that tasty. Mandarin is much better. The staff is very friendly and overall we had a good time. That said, it's way over-priced for what it is. We'd certainly return, but only if we found a good discount offer.

If you enjoy golf, nature walks, paddle boarding and water activities this place will exceed your expectations. They just added a new building to the property but personally I like the old traditional rooms overlooking the golf course. Food was good and they have a couple restuarants to choose from.

We stayed in the one bedroom Summit Suite - beautiful suite with everything we needed for our family of five for the week. Staff were friendly and helpful, the outdoor activities were easy to access and fun. The indoor pool was clean and warm and there were lots of indoor activities for the kids when they wanted a break from the winter weather.

I was able to get a healthcare heroes deal with Deerhurst and immediately grabbed the offer. I needed some peace and quiet and this place offered it. I guess because we went on a weekday. I just imagine that it would be totally chaos if it were a regular non-covid season. We stayed at the lakeside lodge facing the lake and the view was fantastic especially with the onset of fall. The building is new and of course clean. The room was fantastic. It came with a kitchen which we used for breakfast meals.
Tried the indoor pool at the pavilion which was quiet and clean. Tried the disc golf which was ok to pass time except that looking for the holes itself was a challenge aside from having to dodge all the geese poop which are quite big piles for birds. Luckily none of our discs touched any of the mines.
It was my first time to try using a canoe and a kayak which was fun. It was unfortunate that SWS which operated the jetskis were only open on weekends. That would have been fun. Overall loved the 2 night stay and would love to go back again.

Our suite (in Lakeside Lodge) was quite nice albeit small. The food from the resort associated restaurant (Eclipse I think?) was delicious. The resort itself could be really nice but was let down by the abundance of goose poop on the grounds. Our kids had difficulty fully enjoying the green areas and the beach for care of avoiding the feces that contaminated the whole area.

Wonderful large and cozy hotel. There are many fun amenities, like a bar, a pool, a hot-tub, an arcade, a kids play area, and a large conference/ event hall. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The hotel is a bit of a ways from "downtown" Huntsville but it has so many fun attractions of its own that that isn't such a bad thing. There is also beer by Muskoka Brewery which is only available at this resort which is pretty cool (Deer Tail Ale). Ultimately, this hotel is great for anyone - families looking for a relaxing family get-away all the way to friends looking to have a fun trip "Up North".

The main lodge is indeed "grand," the art gallery is an interesting muse, and the Compass Grill is very good but quite expensive, however the far flung satellite lodgings are no better in accommodation than a Holiday Inn. Basically you are paying for a view of the lake. Afterthoughts: Need for more detailed information on resort amenities in the room, and think wine glasses for two, and of the same size.
