Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak Centre Review

Excellent staff, lots of help. Reasonable prices. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Washrooms available. Parking in deep cove oh the weekend could be a challenge.

Twice, we tried to rent kayaks in the past 3 months. Both times, I was greeted with ' do you have a reservation'? and then the associate walked off. No options given or somewhat better service.

We went on the 5 hour guided kayak tour.
It poured rain the entire time but it was such an incredible experience. We were so glad we braved the rain and showed up for our booking.
We owe it to our guide Liam for being super helpful and insightful- keeping us entertained, assisting us with our kayaks throughout, providing extra clothing and waterproof gear, laughing with us about the weather and providing some great history of the cove& arm.
I don't know if we would have had such a fun day on the water in the pouring rain if it wasnt for the instructor and the staff.
I'd highly recommend. Shine or Rain.
We will definitely be back.

My first time kayaking. Wonderful to be out there experiencing rich cultures and scenic views. We encountered lots of Otters with their babies

Super friendly staff! They offer paddle boards, single and double kayaks. A single kayak for 2 hours is $40. They also provide you with a GPS tracker in case you get lost, and a couple other safety equipments.

My favourite place to rent kayaks/paddle boards from- always super easy rental experience and the staff are all super friendly- will be back again very soon.

Deep Cove is one of the most scenic spots in the lower mainland. Great place for recreation opportunities, locals and visitors alike seek out Deep Cove to hike the trails, shop in the village, and paddle or sail up Indian Arm. The Kayak center definitely need some changes, starting from a better wahsroom facility to cleaner sides. I definitely would recommend every who like nature to make a visit.

This place is awesome for all kayakers! Rentals are in great shape, it is very easily accessible by public transportation, and the setting is stunning. If you have kayaked before (like any kayaking), I would suggest avoiding the Deep Cove Explorer Tour. I highly recommend visiting here while you are in Vancouver!

Deep Cove is SUCH a gorgeous spot for kayaking (or stand up paddle boarding or whatever you please.) I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait on hot summer days. I did have an issue with the rudder once on my rented kayak, but the staff was generous and gave me vouchers for free kayaking on my next visit.

Went on a Friday. Got there at 10:30am and Tom advised us to do the hike before coming back to do kayaking. Came back and was told that all the kayaks were booked till 3:30pm. Tom walks in a few moments later and recognizes us and it turns out he remembered us and booked one for us! Great service, good quality kayaks. Great experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Guided tour was a blast - lucky enough to have been in a group with experienced paddlers so we actually got a bit further than we normally would. Even in 30 degrees, the padding was gorgeous. Would totally recommend. And shout out to Carter for being a rad guide

I would definitely recommend taking a trip out here for some kayaking. The views here are stunning and the water was really calm. Our kayaks were in really good condition and the staff were friendly. Keep an eye out for cute seals soaking up the sun on jetties

They booked all kayaks for the whole day at noon even though there were plenty available on the beach clerk didn t want to even take our number if any cancellation happened. Prices were steep as hell. 85$

Wonderful time on the water with them. Service was quick and efficient, we were in and out fast, and the equipment was in great shape. We had a blast on the water, and even got to see some seals! If we're ever back in the area, we'll be back for sure.

The place is located in Deep Cove and it is one hour far from Vancouver downtown by bus. There it is possible to rent individual or double kayaks, and paddles. The equipment are in excellent condition and the activities are safe. The instructors and tourist guides are amazing. There is one of the best place to do kayaking.

First time kayaking, it was easy and enjoyable. I appreciate the staff giving recommendations of the route based on the wind conditions and other details. Checking in was easy, instructions quick and easily comprehensive. Sign the waiver online to save time!

Came for SUP class, Tim was great, went above and beyond to teach us stroke, turns, moving on the board and even tried surfer's turn.

Absolutely fantastic experience. It was my first time kayaking and I was very scared, but our phenomenal instructor Jack made it so fun educational.

Deep Cove is a great place for Kayak, they have routes for beginners and intermediates. Since it was our first time, we took the easy route, but now we understand why people enjoy doing this activity !
The place is just beautiful with mountains, nice houses and little beaches to explore.
The water is calm and even though we never did Kayak before, we could go around without issues. There are some boats going around that make little waves, leaving us scared to tip over. A word of advice, 1. make sure to make a reservation ahead of time if possible and 2. start early in the morning when the water is calm and the place a little more quiet..
If you are lucky, you can even see some animals swimming around, cute ducks, otters and birds.
The Kayak Centre has good equipment and even though we didn't pay for a guide they gave us the first directions to start our first Kayak adventure.
If you are looking for a specific kind of Kayak, it's better to call and reserve before you go. We tried to get a 2 person Kayak (early morning) but it was all booked until 3:30pm.
The price is a little high but manageable with options of 2 hours or more.

The prices are INSANE. You can buy a canoe for the price of a day rental. Also low availability during weekends, and no competition.

We've rented kayaks and stand-up paddleboards at Deep Cove Kayak Centre. Excellent staff - the service is always great - and the scenery is spectacular in the area.

Book early! We rented a two person kayak for two days and explored all of Indian Arm. Kayak was really nice, high quality and well provisioned. The staff made it easy...safety was a priority but the briefing was not burdensome, especially with the nice weather.

I did SUP with my friend who was just visiting the town and both of us really enjoyed the experience, surrounded by the beautiful nature. So relaxing, fun, and easy!

My first two attempts dealing with them failed. Seems like they completely uninterested in providing service.
First time I came 2.5 hours prior to closure. They said "Sorry we're fully booked" without explaining when I saw plenty kayaks on beach and behind the building.
Next time I booked kayak online. Then they called and asked to to explain capsize recovery which I did (one method only). They said I actually should have a certificate which I didn't so they canceled me. They have capsize recovery lesson - $75.

Have rented paddleboards and Kayaks from them multiple times. Everything goes smoothly when preordering and on the day the staff is always super nice

The Deep Cove kayak Outlet was great. The staff were friendly helpful and very professional. They gave us each a lesson before we went out and then sent us on our way. We came back a few minutes late and they were not fast. They told us the best way to go with the wind happening that day, and we're very patient with my niece from Italy who had never been in a kayak before. Is a beautiful location, and very easy to get to. Having said that, parking is terrible in that area so we'll be prepared to have to walk

Busy. Call and make reservation if you don't have all day to walk around and enjoy the nearby shops and cafes.

But once you get past that, this was a blast! Great value, boats we're all in great shape. There are a bunch of SWEET houses lining the coast; they had my girlfriend and I dreaming and picking our favorites for a majority of our time out. They warned us about wind out on the water, but it wasn't too bad at all. Just be aware of the passing time and you'll be fine.

The cherry on top came the next day. I had forgotten my ID there, and was planning to go grab it the next day (before flying home to the US). Unfortunately, getting there is a bit of a bear, and we were not able to get back out there to grab it. Fortunately, when I called them to let them know, they were immediately more than willing to ship it home to me free of charge! This place really cares about it's customers. Thanks Deep Cove!!

Amazing staff and service. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They are always willing to help out, whether a last min request, location of a secret spot or how to use the equipment. Thanks for getting me out on the water so much!

Worst place to book your kayak 80% of kayaks were parked but still they put us on waiting for 3 hours, after all we left the place disappointed.

Highly recommend their Friday night tours. It is absolutely one of those experiences you have to try. When I went I was able to see a shoot star!

Good choice of outdoor activity if you don t mind spending some money. Btw, get ready for sore arms the next day if you haven t really exercised for awhile. Wear clothes and shoes you don t mind getting wet and dirty.
*IMPORTANT* bring extra change of clothing because most likely you will get your butt wet.

Probably the best place in Vancouver to rent a Kayak. The location is perfect. The nice calm water of Deep Cove, good modern equipment and amazing views. I'd suggest making a reservation if it's sunny, or you won't be going. There was a several hour wait for people that hadn't booked. Staff is friendly and they will store your bag or purse if needed.

Love this place for renting kayaks and paddle boards. Friendly service and rental stuff during busy and non busy hours. I would highly recommend this place, the prices after reasonable. Have been coming here for years!

Lots of fun, Beautiful scenery, need to be on time to get your gear so you don't lose precious time waiting in line. Parking can be tricky, might need to walk a bit from the car. Excellent experience, highly recommend. Need ID for rentals.

My phone accidentally clicked on this review. I haven't used a Kayak at this place specifically; however, the scenery is beautiful enough for the 5 stars.

I rate it as how I experienced it. It was a busy day and we did not get any kayak rented. Not your fault. But as far as what my experience was, it's ok.

They rent kayaks and paddleboards. Nothing fancy. Prices are a bit of a rip compared to better equivalents that you can rent elsewhere.

Super fun and their process is dialed. Waiting is minimal, despite that it looks like there's no real line up. Book well in advance online.

We had an issue on the day of our rental that we felt was not adequately handled by the rental staff.

Management did follow up and correct the issue in a timely and polite manner. Responsive and polite management.

I really liked our canoe trip but can't give it five stars. For one, they said it didn't matter how we were sitting in the canoe and one of our canoes just wouldn't stop spinning because the heavier person was in front. We also weren't warned that there was a race that day and we got caught in the middle of it while figuring out how to stop spinning.

I think the teenagers working there might benefit from a little more adult supervision and input. Otherwise it was a really beautiful trip!

I tried their private tour and also just the regular hourly rentals for kayaking. The staffs are very friendly and helps you out whenever you need it.

Great place to enjoy the ocean and the view, busy place, great for tourists and locals.
