Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak Centre Review

Arrived with my two friends from abroad at 7:30pm yesterday July 6. We were told we missed the last rental time which is 7pm, and the girl cashier would give us no chance to get on the water. We noticed there were still lots of kayaks lying on the shore while she told us the kayaks had been moved into storage.
My friends were visiting Vancouver just for one day and would go on visiting Alberta next day. I said to the cashier that we only needed 1 hour on water and would be back definitely before their closing time 9pm. Unfortunately she insisted that she could do nothing for us. VERY disappointed in being no flexibility of this facility! There are so many places for kayaking in Great Vancouver, but we chose wrong one.

This is well worth the bus out of the city! If you re like us and want to rent Kayaks and see nature, then go to Deep Cove! We did the Explore Guided Tour. Their facility and tour guides are best suited to make the journey worth it! We felt safe with our guide (Aiden), who was a lot of fun and able to share a lot of history! Oh! And the complimentary Honey Donuts were a great bonus!

Good price and friendly staff to rent paddling equipment. Nice place for a 2 hour or 2 day adventure. It was easy to setup my rental and doing the waiver online saved time. Kayak had a surprising amount of storage for camping equipment.

Pricing is fair and we had a lot of fun doing the stand up paddle boarding. No fault of this company, however, there are a LOT of jelly fish in this cove so beware

Very positive experience with my wife and our 7 year old twins on our first-time kayak trip.
3hr trip through a beautiful and serene part of the Indian Arm river in North Vancouver.
Our guide was great and really good with the kids. The kids thought it was a great time too.

We went out for 2 hours and it was perfect.
Book in advance because they always do get filled very quickly.

Very friendly staff. Great place for some early morning views. Recommend the 745 sitting as few other people around. Thoroughly recommended.

Extremely poor service. Seems to run by teenagers who don't care about the job. We were constantly given different information/directions by each person we interacted with and the check in process took such a long time (while some workers were seemingly standing around doing nothing). No sense of urgency or care and some workers were plain rude. Would not return based on our check-in and return experiences.

Perfect place for kayaking and SUP. Mostly still waters. A little wave excitement from other boats.

The night kayak was an extremely cool experience with the bioluminescent aglae!

Been here 2 times this summer and both were great experiences, I would call ahead to make an appointment as they get busy! Also leave time to find parking!

From my booking phone call with Robby to the interactions we had with staff members, Robin, Rebecca, and Tom the day of, it is safe to say that our experience SUP'ing in Deep Cove was a great one! Staff members were kind and helpful, we could see them thoroughly sanitizing and cleaning equipment throughout the day, and the two-hour booking was more than enough to be out on the water! This is an awesome service. If you are able and in Deep Cove for the day, SUP'ing is a must!

I was extremely happy with the customer service by the phone. I didnt need to even go there. They helped me fixing it by the phone since it was a small thing that I could do by myself!

Perfect place for a full or half day family activity . Scenes are breath taking, and there is kayak rental and near by playground .

Their is no currents to worry about and I think it's the best scenery around and lost of seals and baby pups.

Awesome experience! Oliver was amazing in coming up with Amazing Race inspired options for a twins surprise birthday present.

The setting and views were incredible. We paddled for about three hours. We saw seals and spent some time at Jug Island Beach. I just wish I had some more time there.

Ok place, website says to bring sparw clothes but there is no place to put it on the shore so you bring them with you on the boat to get wet as well

I had the most amazing time at Deep Cove Kayak centre! It was my first time ever kayaking and the staff were so professional as well as super friendly! Totally made our trip worth while. Brendon the ginger dude was incredibly helpful and answered all of my questions as well as my girlfriends. Thanks for being awesome. "Single kayaks all the way". Wont be taking a divorce kayak! And as well thanks Ethan for getting us booked so fast and being so informative. Thanks to these cool guys ill be most defintely coming back more than once :)

Fantastic experience doing SUP lessons with very professional, friendly and helpful instructor.

Been here 3 or 4 times now. Can be a pretty busy little place. The views on the water are great. Staff are friendly and pretty efficient. During warmest months definitely book ahead. Boat are pretty easy to steer. Some kayaking experience is best but not necessary.

The rental experience here was very good. It didn't take too long to get out on the water on a gorgeous day.

Worked with Abbey, Mya and Logan. They were nothing short of amazing. Both the girls lifted KAYAKS out of the water with 2 full grown men inside... It was amazing.

Staff are a little rude and dont have a lot of knowledge about rates. Prices otherwise are decent

Great staff-well run operation- excellent equipment -thank you! And a huge thank you to the staffer who rescued /returned my cell phone after I lost it in the water. To return from a two hour tour and have him hand me the phone was amazeballs! 12/10 will return!
