Awesome place to bring pets and still have a scenic trip in Moab. The hike is fairly easy with really no incline or decline. Be sure to bring water... still the desert. The East rim has a great view of the mountains while the West rim has a fantastic view of the Colorado river. Would recommend doing both sides to get the full experience. You are able to drive as well.

Do not miss dead horse point. Top 5 best views in the country, and nice picnic areas as well. Also, amazingly not crowded at all. Camping fills up quick, but it's easy to camp in the desert on BLM land, then drive here when you want to.

I loved visiting this spot in Canyonlands National Park. It's so vast and the views here were great. In between getting some photos it was so easy to just sit back and appreciate the ruddy canyons. I'll be back to Dead Horse Point in the future, for sure. Please remember to be safe and respect the rules.

Gorgeous views, super fun mountain biking and friendly rangers. I recommend this park for the vacationing mountain biker looking for moderate terrain. Make sure to investigate why this place is called "Dead Horse Point" and don't miss the overlook.

This is one of the most breathtaking parks in the Nation. If you only have time for one park in Moab; make it this one. Beats the Grand Canyon for me in that it's just a dramatic but the landscape is more interesting. Get there a sunrise or sunset for best lighting for photos.

Great for camping, biking, hiking and general sight seeing. Previous review says dogs aren't allowed, that's incorrect. Dogs must be on leash. Walking path all around the overlook, great visitors center with art gallery and coffee/ice cream truck. It's hot in the summer, go early in the day. Great views of the Colorado River and trail below. If you have 4WD vehicle, be sure and do Shafer trail and Potash Rd back to Moab for several hours of entertainment.

Can t get tired of this view. Parking available right next to the point, but try to get there an hour beforehand if you really need it! Otherwise hiking from the visitor center is only a mile! Make sure to stay after dark (10pm summer) for a beautiful star show

View, view view. The story of how it got its name adds even more to the experience. This provides an outstanding view of Canyon lands N P. From an airplane perspective 2000 ft above the Colorado River. There is a top rated campground which has electricity but you must bring your own water.

Had a great experience with a ranger on a night hike. The moon was full making the view different. We learned about nocturnal animals in the area and dark sky pollution and how it affects these animals.

Excellent visitor's center and overlooks right from there. The hikes looked very appealing, but we didn't have the time. The canyon Is fantastic, and the views rival that of the grand canyon. They have a small but appropriate gift shop with knowledgeable staff.

At first we thought there wasn't much here. We'd visited Arches and Canyonlands. So, we stopped for a picnic and continued on to the end.

OMG, so worth the drive and wait. The views were absolutely breathtaking! This is a Must See if you're ever in the area.

If you're pressed for time just go straight to the end and skip the other view points. (They're good and all, but the piece de resistance is Dead Horse Point)

This state park rivals most National Parks with the views and is run as good if not a little better than most National Parks. If you are visiting Canyonlands or Arches you have to include Dead Horse Point SP on your trip.

It's very nice. They have clean men/women rest rooms. The view is fantastic. The Colorado River makes a gooseneck turn there. The canyon is like a mini grand canyon which is nice. We went during off season so it was not crowded at all.

Great park. Camped in Wingate campground. Includes power. Dump Station nearby. No water but bathrooms have running water and are very clean. Dishwashing station available, see so used very little trailer water. Very clean and quiet. Great scenery. Rim trail is very nice easy hike. Verizon and AT&T cell/text worked, but needed yagi antenna on mast and cell booster pointed at Moab to get Internet.

Dead Horse Point State Park appeared in the final scene in the 1991 film Thelma & Louise. According to legend, the park is so named because of its use as a natural corral by cowboys in the 19th century, where horses often died of exposure.

Beautiful park and great trails. I don't know if these trails get as much credit as they deserve being so close to Moab, but they were very fun. Trails are marked extremely well with plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures. Plenty of parking at the visitors center and they have a nice coffee/sandwich shop in the parking lot as well. Overall it was worth the drive out of Moab to ride and visit.

Absolutely incredible. Much less busy than Arches and just as beautiful. Do the east and west rim hikes for amazing views. Trails are fairly flat and easy to follow. Rangers are friendly at visitor center.

What fantastic state park, with views that can't be beat. We camped here and hiked both sides of the rim as a loop. Its conveniently located for going to Canyonlands and Arches, but don't skip over this park. You will enjoy your time here. The only downside is no showers at the campground.

Surprisingly this tourist hot spot was awesome. The views were sick. The energy was amazing. I should mention I went during the week in the beginning of March and there really wasn't anyone else out here. My dog and I had a great time walkibg a couple miles of the west rim.

Just WOW! What an amazing view. This is a great spot to get pictures, and is so underrated. It has picnic, camping, and scenic viewing spots available. Just near it, is Canyon Lands National Park, which doesn't have the amazing view like this. The panoramic like view took my breath away. I cannot describe in words how beautiful this was. All in all, with several trails and activities to do there, seeing this wonderful canyon carved by the Colorado River is one of the hidden gems in the area.
