Fantastic place that you should not miss when you are coming through moab. It's worth the 40 minute drive for breathtaking views and a great hike. There is a Mountainbike trailsystem Out there also. Get a nap at the visitor center and it will help you find your way. Bring plenty of water on the trails and get ready for some breathtaking views!

This is one of the more expensive state parks in Utah. If you haven't been to Arches I would recommend visiting Arches first. The views here a re amazing. We came here to go mountain biking. They have a fun trail system and they have some good trails for beginners as well.

Great ranger programs daily. Awesome views to rival the Grand Canyon. Traffic and parking are so much better. You can drive! No special transport needed. We stayed here for 3 nights, should have done a week. Hot in day cool at night in August. Electric only you should bring your own water. Dump station.

We went here to watch the sunset. It was absolutely breathtaking. No photo does the real thing justice. If you're debating making this one of your stops DO IT. We got there about an hour before sunset so we were able to find a great parking spot and a perch on the rocks

Went mountain biking on a recommendation from moab bike shop (Chile Pepper) - very glad we did! We did the beginner/intermediate loop - about 9 miles - and loved it. (You can add on the intermediate/advanced loop, which is on the other side of the road but the intermediate was technically challenging enough for me.) I'd say you'd need to be an advanced beginner to intermediate to enjoy it (and expect to walk some parts if you are beg/int).

Would HIGHLY recommend a full suspension mountain bike - and bring your padded shorts. - there are a number of rock formations to go over on the trail. If you leave from the visitors center lot there's a small cafe that makes caffeinated drinks, smoothies, sandwiches and wraps.

Sweeping vistas, awesome views of the Colorado. Lots of areas to enjoy quiet moments with a good book and incredible sights. The campground is great, and super clean. The visitors center is very inviting with a place that sells coffee that you can enjoy while admiring the view.

A little off the beaten path, less popular than the other major parks in the area. Still only a hop, skip and a jump from Moab, UT. The park has nice hiking that is readily accessible to families with small children Where you can search sms find footprints from the dinosaurs! The park has recently shifted it's focus into mountain biking and has established a wonderful network of trails that are also pretty good for families.

All of this and you get great, great canyon scenery with a fraction of the people that attend the adjacent parks. I'm a big fan.

Incredible views into canyon lands. In most places in the country this would be a national park/monument. Less crowded and less expensive than nearby national parks (which are definitely also worth visiting).

The new Mtn. Biking trail system opens this amazing space up in away that only the Hang Glider Pilots could experience before. You can see all of it intimately. The campground is small and without a lot of planning hard to get into.

One of, if not the most scenic areas of the country. Photos won't do the job, you must see this to fully appreciate the views. Awesome biking/hiking trails, great sunrises and sunsets and rarely crowded. Well worth the trip up from the Moab area.

Excellent Utah State Park. If possible go at sunset to the observation point. It's an excellent view of the Colorado River 2,000 feet below and how it has carved its path through the plateau. Facilities were clean and Ranger on duty was helpful and friendly.

Breath-taking and spectacular views of the Colorado river canyon. Don't let the potash evaparation pools misguide you when you arrive at the visitor centre. The death horse point is a little further down the road. From the visitor centre short hike trails start.

Great views, quiet camping, and plenty of trails for mountain biking or exploring the canyon views. The high elevation keeps this a bit cooler than Moab. Make sure you drive our past the "neck" and check out the view of Colorado River 2,000 feet below!

We did a quick stop in this park. We stayed in Moab to visit Arches National Park. Few people told us to visit this park and Island in the sky while we are there so we did. It was about 35 mins drive to this Park from Moab. We were there around 5pm and not a lot of people around, that was a plus. The view deck is very close to the parking lot, it is very easy walk. There are also hiking trails you can do if you want but we did not do it. The view is amazing, it is very different from Arches National. I would recommend visiting this place when you are in town of Moab. I am glad we did it.

Please know that this review is QUITE delayed-I was there in July. The views from the park are as stunning as all of the previous reviews have stated, and I have no reason to doubt that the park programming is also stellar. My complaint is specific to the tent camping sites. Advertised as walk-in sites , I had expectations that they would be more ... secluded? We were not able to enjoy the much advertised stars/darkness because the bathroom (immediately adjacent to our site) light never went off, nor did the RVs generators. The platform space and shaded table were nice. I just wish we could have enjoyed the night sky in silence.

A very scenic and low-traffic park. We spent the day there on the mountain bike trails which were excellent and afforded some of the best views I had while in the Moab area. Mostly because we were able to enjoy them in solitude.

Can't say much about the rest of the park, but it was clean, well maintained and the staff was super friendly.

If you're a mountain biker, you don't want to miss this park's trails. I can't speak for the actual trails as I'm a novice, but the views were excellent.

We preferred the views at Dead Horse over those at Canyonlands.

This is a beautiful lookout similar to the Grand Canyon. You can scan for miles and see the Colorado meet the Green River. This is where The famous Thelma & Louise driving off the cliff scene took place.
