$20 to get in for a view and nothing else.....Disappointed
Unbelievable scenery. The Grand Canyon could have not been more any more spectuliar than this.
Don't go here... it's too ugly looking at rocks and dirt
Entry is $20 for private vehicles. Amazing view and plenty of to hang out with family!
What an amazing place. Didn't even hike - just rode to the tourist spots and gazed at the amazing views.... Wow. Utah has it all.
View is amazing, especially after driving Potash Rd the day before and seeing it from this perspective. Best view anywhere!
Dont middle dead horse point lookout. It is one of the best views you will ever see.
Great state park campground with electric, shelter and flush washroom but no shower.
Night sky stars view wonderful, gooseneck canyon, sea salt fields view , near canyon lands national park and Arches national park
Good place for camping for 3 great national and statepark.
Fantastic place that you should not miss when you are coming through moab. It's worth the 40 minute drive for breathtaking views and a great hike. There is a Mountainbike trailsystem Out there also. Get a nap at the visitor center and it will help you find your way. Bring plenty of water on the trails and get ready for some breathtaking views!
What a beautiful place! Everything was clean and well-kept, and the people in the gift shop were very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful.
Beautiful park near Canyonlands with spectacular views. The evaporation pools are a cool contrast to the red and brown background. Its worth it to check out if you have the time.
What an amazing place.. We camped there in the yurt.. Yurt has ac and heating with facility to sleep 6 people and a dining table
This place is amazing. I have to come back with more time to hike.
This is one of the more expensive state parks in Utah. If you haven't been to Arches I would recommend visiting Arches first. The views here a re amazing. We came here to go mountain biking. They have a fun trail system and they have some good trails for beginners as well.
Well worth the time and fee. Multible trail choices. Bikes and hikers alike. Go.
One of my my most favorite State Parks ever!!!
I can visit this place again and again!
Great ranger programs daily. Awesome views to rival the Grand Canyon. Traffic and parking are so much better. You can drive! No special transport needed. We stayed here for 3 nights, should have done a week. Hot in day cool at night in August. Electric only you should bring your own water. Dump station.
The woman working at the visitor's center was incredibly kind and helpful, she went above and beyond in helping us out. Beautiful park, beautiful view.
We went here to watch the sunset. It was absolutely breathtaking. No photo does the real thing justice. If you're debating making this one of your stops DO IT. We got there about an hour before sunset so we were able to find a great parking spot and a perch on the rocks
Went mountain biking on a recommendation from moab bike shop (Chile Pepper) - very glad we did! We did the beginner/intermediate loop - about 9 miles - and loved it. (You can add on the intermediate/advanced loop, which is on the other side of the road but the intermediate was technically challenging enough for me.) I'd say you'd need to be an advanced beginner to intermediate to enjoy it (and expect to walk some parts if you are beg/int).
Would HIGHLY recommend a full suspension mountain bike - and bring your padded shorts. - there are a number of rock formations to go over on the trail. If you leave from the visitors center lot there's a small cafe that makes caffeinated drinks, smoothies, sandwiches and wraps.
Great scenery located close Moab, Utah. There is a fee to get in but it is worthwhile.
Absolutely beautiful lookout where you can see for miles upon miles.
Loved that the dogs are welcome here they enjoyed walking the trails with us and getting the great views.
Great views of canyon lands, arches, Colorado River, walk the rim trail to see the panorama views over Green River
Took my breath away! It might have beat out the 5 National Parks
Sweeping vistas, awesome views of the Colorado. Lots of areas to enjoy quiet moments with a good book and incredible sights. The campground is great, and super clean. The visitors center is very inviting with a place that sells coffee that you can enjoy while admiring the view.
Fantastic views with an easy walk. Nice visitors center too.
One of the best State Park viewpoints I've ever been too!
Loved this place!! You feel like you're on top of the world!! We went during the California fires, so the smoke had blown in making it look foggy. Still awesome!!
Beautiful bike ride. We parked outside the gate and rode our bikes in for only $10. Not very busy on a Sunday so it was amazing!
Don't miss this view. Read the panels to learn how it was formed.
Some of the best mountain bike and hiking trails in southeast Utah. Stunning views!
A little off the beaten path, less popular than the other major parks in the area. Still only a hop, skip and a jump from Moab, UT. The park has nice hiking that is readily accessible to families with small children Where you can search sms find footprints from the dinosaurs! The park has recently shifted it's focus into mountain biking and has established a wonderful network of trails that are also pretty good for families.
All of this and you get great, great canyon scenery with a fraction of the people that attend the adjacent parks. I'm a big fan.
Incredible views into canyon lands. In most places in the country this would be a national park/monument. Less crowded and less expensive than nearby national parks (which are definitely also worth visiting).
World famous views, interesting historical and cultural heritage.
The new Mtn. Biking trail system opens this amazing space up in away that only the Hang Glider Pilots could experience before. You can see all of it intimately. The campground is small and without a lot of planning hard to get into.
Scenic hike, worth the trip to hike from the information to the point and back.
Nice, but not that big place compared to Canyonlands national park which is close. Cost $20 per vehicle.
The state park is even more beautiful than the national parks surrounding it. I hope to go back again soon to see even more and to hike the trails.
One of the most beautiful thing I ever seen! Awesome
One of the most sublime panoramic viewpoints in the world
One of, if not the most scenic areas of the country. Photos won't do the job, you must see this to fully appreciate the views. Awesome biking/hiking trails, great sunrises and sunsets and rarely crowded. Well worth the trip up from the Moab area.
Did you know that the very first MacGyver episode was filmed here. Just sayin.
A little disappointed to be honest ! I would have rather spent time at arches more but cool view worth the drive and time but don t take away from arches to see this place just plain a extra
Excellent Utah State Park. If possible go at sunset to the observation point. It's an excellent view of the Colorado River 2,000 feet below and how it has carved its path through the plateau. Facilities were clean and Ranger on duty was helpful and friendly.
Some pretty views here that you don't have to hike for!
great point but drawback is .... u need to pay 20$ entry fee to see only couple views.
Breath-taking and spectacular views of the Colorado river canyon. Don't let the potash evaparation pools misguide you when you arrive at the visitor centre. The death horse point is a little further down the road. From the visitor centre short hike trails start.
Great views, quiet camping, and plenty of trails for mountain biking or exploring the canyon views. The high elevation keeps this a bit cooler than Moab. Make sure you drive our past the "neck" and check out the view of Colorado River 2,000 feet below!
We did a quick stop in this park. We stayed in Moab to visit Arches National Park. Few people told us to visit this park and Island in the sky while we are there so we did. It was about 35 mins drive to this Park from Moab. We were there around 5pm and not a lot of people around, that was a plus. The view deck is very close to the parking lot, it is very easy walk. There are also hiking trails you can do if you want but we did not do it. The view is amazing, it is very different from Arches National. I would recommend visiting this place when you are in town of Moab. I am glad we did it.
Impressive place and knowing the back story of the location can leave one with mixed feelings towards humanity after visiting...
An absolute breathtaking view. You can look in so many beautiful directions and see just pure awesomeness
Beautiful Hidden Gem in Moab. Great times and great people.
Talk about beauty and solitude...even on a fairly well traveled road!
Breathtaking views. Literally leaves you with no words to describe what you are seeing. Just stand and stare and marvel.
Please know that this review is QUITE delayed-I was there in July. The views from the park are as stunning as all of the previous reviews have stated, and I have no reason to doubt that the park programming is also stellar. My complaint is specific to the tent camping sites. Advertised as walk-in sites , I had expectations that they would be more ... secluded? We were not able to enjoy the much advertised stars/darkness because the bathroom (immediately adjacent to our site) light never went off, nor did the RVs generators. The platform space and shaded table were nice. I just wish we could have enjoyed the night sky in silence.
Beautiful! No line up to get in, not crazy busy or as expensive as the other parks in the area, this was in April!
Beautiful views. Rock wall surrounds most of the area. $20 to visit, not a ton of hiking and there are shaded areas
Cool park and nice campgrounds but if you have a tent make sure its sealed well to keep out the blowing sand.
Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Also great for star gazing.
Beautiful views. Nice day hikes. Cool mountain bike trails with some great views. Staff is great.
beautiful place with a splendid see point
10 $ to enter
Visiting center are great and include small art gallery and purch with chaires. Very impressive views, but this definitely cannot be a substitute for csnyonland.
Fantastic Scenery, Several excellent short hikes. Dogs allowed on trail.
Beautiful place that is definitely worth the drive. If you're visiting arches or canyonlands be sure to include Dead House Point in your schedule.
Our guide drove us through it for an hour or two after arches. Deffinitely worth seeing after arches. Arches is a must but if you have time fit this in too. Great photo oppertunities of a mini grand cannon
Wasn't expecting much but it was one of the greatest view you could have in Moab area.
A very scenic and low-traffic park. We spent the day there on the mountain bike trails which were excellent and afforded some of the best views I had while in the Moab area. Mostly because we were able to enjoy them in solitude.
Can't say much about the rest of the park, but it was clean, well maintained and the staff was super friendly.
If you're a mountain biker, you don't want to miss this park's trails. I can't speak for the actual trails as I'm a novice, but the views were excellent.
We preferred the views at Dead Horse over those at Canyonlands.
This is a beautiful lookout similar to the Grand Canyon. You can scan for miles and see the Colorado meet the Green River. This is where The famous Thelma & Louise driving off the cliff scene took place.
