I actually liked the view better than Arches. Plus it is much quicker to get around and see everything.

Great story about our cavalry slaughtering horses at dead horse point. You'll have to read the rest at the park. The beauty is worth it.
Great place to visit , nice roads, info, there's not a whole lot of people around, lots of shade and awesome views.
This is a great state park! The views are spectacular and the services are really good.
Pretty expensive for a state park. Nice views of the canyons
Great views. Expensive to drive into . Narrow roads
A must see when visiting Canyonlands or Ar hes National Parks.....beautiful!!
Breathtaking here too. True fact: in the movie THELMA & LOUISE this is the jumping off point they took NOT in Arizona :) true stuff, Google it.
Great state park with stunning vistas and interesting history. Has the best setup for car camping that I can imagine with great spots for tents, enough cover that you can't see your neighbors, and a wind block that has storage space for food. Each site also has power going to it.
We were completely blown away by the views of the imposing canyons, rock formations, the distant mountains, deep craters created by the Colorado and Green Rivers, the most gorgeous sunset and then the amazing night sky including the Milky Way. Even the bathrooms were super clean and reminded us of 4-star hotel bathrooms. We spent a good three hours at the park after having arrived just before sunset. Highly recommend spending more time at this park with an interesting name.
Great scenic views. Incredible at Dawn and dusk. Take your full camera kit with you - well worth it.
Great park! Less crowds than arches and canyonlands, but just as good. Camping on site and plenty of hikes and photo opportunities. There is a 15 dollar fee, but worth it.
I love this place so much, it's so peaceful and pretty!
Super great views. We will definitely come back here with our next visit
I remember biking this back in 2012! Great trail overlooking the rock.
Great easy ride. Just a few tougher obstacles, but mainly an easy trail. Totally worth the ride for the scenery! Exposed, so pack sun screen and water.
Thoroughly enjoyed our day. Not used to the winds. In Florida we would considered them tropical storm winds. Here they just say winding.
Rather disappointed. For the $20 paid to enter, we got to see what you can for no fee at the Anticline Overlook and many other locations throughout Moab.
If your looking for a cool place to visit after the national parks here's a pretty cool area. You can see for virtually miles away and so far down. Its worth your time.
Yet another exciting and captivating canyons within Moab and environs. Here the canyons are multi-stacked and old and recent rivers flow around giving the view from above a very breathtaking and amazingly awesome.
Came on a Saturday. Only one person at the entry. Took way too long to get through the entry. 20 minutes or more inching up. Enjoyed the park but won't be back.
If you're staying in the Moab, UT area and/or visiting Canyonlands National Park then you definitely need to visit this state park. The views of the Colorado River exceed those within Canyonlands. In addition, go here for sunrise, evening sunset and to view the night sky! An amazing place.
This place is incredible. If you are nearby and have time to drive to it, you won't regret it. The views are amazing sms there is also a nice, well-kept visitor's center. It can be very hit in the summer but there is plenty of shade and there aren't really admit hikes or anything to prepare for.
Awesome place!! Amazing views! We stayed in the yurts and had an amazing time in the Utah wilderness.
MORE beautiful/dramatic than the Grand Canyon. Nice for a sunset view also.
We drove here before sunset in hopes of getting a dramatic view for some photos. We didn't get a spectacular sunset that day, but the view from the point is breathtaking and totally worth your time and the entry fee. The dramatic colors of the rock formations, the river, and the distant mountains make this view better and more interesting than the Grand Canyon. Go!
I just stayed overnight here at Wingate Campground and was very pleased with the amenities. The campsites are well marked and laid out with solidly built shelters. I arrived just before sunset and got to take in and capture some amazing views. A few hours later, I went back out to get some shots of the Milky Way. The moon decided to make an appearance, which would typically ruin a night shot. Somehow, everything worked out just right, though. Finally, after way too little sleep, I greeted the sunrise over the La Sal mountains. This park is a fantastic little gem that is completely overshadowed by it's much larger and far more popular national cousins. It's nowhere near as big, but the views are incredible and you can see Canyonlands stretching away on the other side of the gorge, which is nothing to sneeze at. There isn't a huge amount of hiking trails (since you're on top of a narrow mesa) but you won't run out of great scenery on the trails. If you find yourself in Moab and you have free time, take a trip here for the day/night. The drive isn't bad at all and you won't regret it!
When looking for things to see around Moab, this one popped up. It is on the way to Canyonlands NP (Island in the Sky entrance). Even the trip in is amazing. Inside the park, one has several opportunities to stop and look into the canyon below. Each one offers a breathtaking view. Dead Horse Point is the most spectacular. You are 2,000 feet above the Colorado River, and the canyon seems endless.
There are opportunities for hiking, biking, and camping. We were there in mid-October and the traffic was modest. There were lots of folks cycling the roads, which seems like an ideal way to see it. Just be careful.
This park, as well as others in the area, offer lots of good information, among other things, about the fragility of the environment. Please heed this.
Overall, this is a well worth the time.
The dead Horse point view is amazing. But apart from that not much.
Good state park and well maintained. Only problem is the evaporation fields marring the view.
Really nice SP campground close to Canyonlands National Park
Quieter than it's more well known neighbour, Canyonlands and definitely worth the visit if you get sick of the crowds at Isle in the Sky
Stunning!!! Best view overlooking the Colorado River. Superb!!!
Excellent views and easy to access. There is free camping outside of the park boundaries, you just need to look for the spots. Pack it in and pack it out. Respect the cliffs and respect mother nature.
Beautiful! It's like a smaller scale of the Grand Canyon. Easier to really take in what you're seeing here than the Grand. Worth it!
Very pretty views. A good place to visit if you have an hour or two between your visits to Arches or Canyonlands.
An amazing experience to behold for a morning sunrise view. Beautiful panoramic views, fascinating landscapes, interesting colorful salt flats.
Beautiful park, especially as arches draws all the visitors, this park is very quiet.
Not as amazing as Canyonlands NP but still very impresive.
My favorite park in the area. Loved the trails and the view of the river.
I stayed at Wingate campground in a tent on Dead Horse Point State Park. Smooth sandy tent pads, a sturdy metal awning over a metal picnic table to protect from high winds, and nice lined paths. Even the latrines were very clean and didn't smell. The RV and yurt sites have facilities with plumbing, just a few quick steps away from the tent sites. Do not miss Dead Horse Point Overlook, amazing view of canyons and Colorado River!
Wow what a place. We camped here for 5 nights in late september. A very quiet campground. We were site 8 across from the nice washrooms. No showers. But the view, the park and the trails are simply amazing! Even better then the south rim grand canyon. So many less people, we had 2 nights of sunset views to our selfs. The west rim trail at sunset was ours. What a special place.
Awesome, it was snowing really bad, but, but we waited around and we're able to see through the clouds..beautiful
Nice park with fun beginner and kid mountain biking trails, not terribly busy and beautiful scenery. Trails are groomed and clearly marked. Ran into a first aid rider cruising up and down the trail to check in people which is awesome. Staff at visitor center was friendly and knowledgeable. I would imagine parking can become an issue since we visited in March and had a little trouble finding parking at the dead horse point overlook.
Beautiful place and hike! I took pictures for my clients here came out lovely!!
Great hike with lots of photo ops. We parked at the visitor centre and hiked the mile to the end and back. An easy hike that would be fine for children aged five and above. As always take plenty of water.
Amazing mountain bike trails and views!!! Do not miss this place!!
Nice additional add-on to visiting Arches Natl Park.
What views! We stopped at the visitor center nearby but the ticket booth wasn't open yet. Gate wasn't closed tho so we were in and out before the ticket taker showed up. Loved the area.
If you ride bikes its a good place to start your week. Its 20$ a vehicle to get in.
Spectacular views from the point. Well worth the effort to divert here. Bring food?
