Our room was clean. Royal Bath had everything we need Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, gym and treatments. All reasonable priced. The Indoor pool is nice and warm the gym that overlooks bournemouth. Live entertainment in the evening, delicious food, the staff made us feel welcome and relaxed. The enterior is splendid the garden and the sea view from the garden is beautiful with nice proximity to Bournemouth town centre and the pier. The Royal Bath is well situated relaxing and reasonably priced. We will be back again soon.

Parking was expensive but if you include it as part of the stay then who cares? Lots near by, food was awesome and easy to sort, spa facilities were clean and pool was good temperature. Rooms were tidy, a little dusty but nothing to worry about. Beds were comfy and staff were friendly.

Visit went down hill right from the start, receptionist unhelpful couldn't find booking and then when that was sorted, just pointed in the direction of our room and left us to wander corridors until we found it.
Our room was grim as was the bathroom.
Our booking included dinner and breakfast, both self service,
the food was cold and definitely not recommended !! we left without
finishing our evening meal.
Thankfully we only had a one night stay, and we won't be going back.

Avoid and choose a better hotel. We had a leaky shower that dropped all night, mould on the bathroom ceiling, noise from the road outside and the room smelt musty. There is a gym and spa but even as a hotel guest you have to pay to use it.

Massively overpriced for an outdated hotel. Booked as part of a surprise weekend away and what a disappointment! The only good thing about it is the location. The room was far from clean and looked like it had previously been a smoking room. After looking at the website pictures I can see why the other half chose it but our was nothing like those pictured.

A welcome overnight stay on a busy weekend of travelling. This hotel is in an excellent location very close to the seafront and pier. The staff could be more helpful, when we arrived, tired after a long day, as I guess most travellers are, More

Room was ridiculously hot so window was kept open. Road works were going on outside overnight and my partner had no sleep. They could have put us around the back as I doubt they were busy this time of year.

We absolutely love the Royal Bath Hotel and have stayed here several times. It has a huge character and a fascinating history. To all those who criticise its "faded grandeur" it is almost 200 years old, for goodness' sake, what do you expect? Many of the rooms are huge with lovely period furniture and wonderful views. The lounge, with its pillars, chandeliers and comfy old sofas is a wonder - you can almost see Oscar Wilde here, smoking a cigar and entertaining others with his witticisms. This hotel is a fascinating slice of Victoriana for those who loathe the blandness which many more modern hotels possess. Long may she reign. And did I mention that it is slap bang next door to the sublime Russell-Coates museum? What more could you ask for?

We stayed at the hotel last night and we would like to say how helpful the receptionist Alberto was in helping us to find a suitable room for the night. He was very friendly and is an asset to the hotel. We will return again soon. Thankyou for making our weekend enjoyable.

Beautiful Hotel but badly run for the price paid: only 20mins free Wi-Fi; no air-con; towels smelt funny (probably not dirty but the dryer's smell was awful); and very low quality shampoo in bathroom. Try not to get the rooms starting with 600s - they're small and most have a terrible view (e.g. all I could see was the roof).

Awful, awful!!!! This hotel just keeps on going down hill. The rooms are old fashioned. There is no disabled access. The food takes so long to be replaced. They charge you for towels in the swimming pool. They are understaffed. Can't think of anything good to say.

Room was well appointed however it is clear that not all rooms are equal and it is luck which you get. All staff are very pleasant however it is noticibly difficult to get hold of and speak to people at the front desk in order to check in or out. The pool is nice, but not straight so please do not expect to be able to do lengths or laps. The spa was completely booked up with no slots or preference given to hotel guests.

Place does a fantastic breakfast.
But the room was dirty, dusty and full off cobwebs. The reception. Staff were slow
The car park was over priced and away from the hotel, public car park next door cheaper.
Would rather stay somewhere else

The hotel looks great, it's a really huge building with a characteristic soul. The position on the sea front is just fantastic. You can fell it was a first class, fine hotel one century ago. However it's like if there is not sufficient caring about this powerful place.
My boyfr. and I had a really nice double room, sea front, big windows, plenty of space.
First impression was just amazing!!
So we decided to have our dinner in hotel. Something we regretted once we started to eat. I don't recommend the buffet at all. Food tasteless and chewy.
Bedtime we realise our bed was made out 2 single beds with different heights, old matresses( we both woke up with a back pain) and there were only 2 small pillows. So after an uncomfortable night I went to take a shower and at that point it became too much for me: few hairs in the bath, enough to disguste you..hot water eather too hot or cold.
It seems no one truly care about the costumers.
Not what you expect for a relaxing weekend ..and from this awesome building.

Room is lovely, but that's all the good that I can say I'm afraid. You have to pay in full before you have even seen the room and at the bar, you can't add it to your room, you have to pay separately. Staff are very unhelpful. Would not want to stay here again

Poor service, undertrained staff, shabby rooms, wifi is slow and only available in the lounge, and they have such awful beds! You can hear everything from the hallway and surrounding rooms when you're trying to sleep which is not ideal in a city with a notably raucous nightlife. It's certainly not worth staying here considering all the other options available to you in Bournemouth. I'm appalled that this hotel still has 3 stars.

I don t really know where to start with this monstrous hotel, I ve stayed in third world countries which offered more comfort. We were given a room which I can only describe as the staff quarters. The room was down some stairs to the dungeon rooms .(room 118) Our room was absolutely tiny, filthy and with no windows. The bed was solid with a duvet which had seen better days and 2 millimeters thin. The walls were covered in filth and the furniture in the room was mismatched, broken and looked like it had been purchased from a charity shop. The lamp was covered in holes. We booked here as the spa enticed us, only to discover that we had to pay extra to use the spa. I travel weekly for work and have stayed in many hotels in the UK and abroad. I can honestly confirm that this is the worst hotel I ve ever stayed at and it needs to be shut down.

Lovely interior and decoration, nice bar and cafe with a great garden. Came to take a look at the King's Hall venue for events as well as the rest of the hotel, and I was very impressed by everything they had to offer and were willing to contribute in order to help us host our event.

If you can manage with 20 minutes of WiFi in your room this is the place for you. If you like to sleep with the windows firmly closed because there is a flat roof outside with scaffolding this is the place for you. If you like to sleep in a very hot room (because , despite asking, they cant turn off the radiator) with no ventilation then this is the place for you. If you enjoy trying to go to sleep with the draught of a fan on your face which is their solution to these problems then this is the place for you. Well it certainly ISN'T the place for us but we are booked in this sauna for 3 nights. Can't wait to leave. This is room 60 by the way. Good luck with other rooms. We haven't been offered anything better. They just left us a fan and a banging hit radiator that can't be turned off and we can't leave windows open. Dreadful!!!

It was a bit out dated but we liked that. The spa day was lovely, with afternoon teas a facial, swim in the lovely pool. A huge garden, which was peaceful, just loungers there where we enjoyed cocktails. The staff were very friendly

Room was terrible. Mismached interior which does not leave you rested. And carpet with paches that probably been changed in mid 50's. Furniture most likely from the same era. Windows as decoration only, one facing parking orher brick wall 40cm away. That all left pretty claustrofobic feeling. Air just from ventilation had a stale smell to it that made sleeping quite difficult. And finaly when managed to fall asleep been woken up by cleaners loud chat (their inventory room was just opposite) that was going on and on. Probably if i understood the language i would know whole life story.
On top of that my desperate attempts to get my sleep interupted fire alarms 2 times same morning. One 8am one 10am.
Small spa with pool, 2 choices of sauna, fitness chamber and jacuzzi. Area to have a coffe and some snacks and chairs to lay down. And again cleaner with out any warning opened door to outside exposing us to pretty cool air from outside.
As much as i loved Bournemouth im pretty sure my choice of hotel will be anything but this one.

It's all about the location, other than that it really has nothing going for it. Impersonal staff and the building and rooms are in a shocking state. Massive list of issues with our room actually made it quite funny for the price. Mass produced breakfast and bar never open when you want it. Value for money it is NOT.

Lovely location but acconadation now a bit dated and in need of refurbishment. Service was slow and food choice was poor. We were in a non smoking room which had a strong smell of smoke?? Have been before but experience this time was not good and I am unlikely to return.

Can't give ' no stars'

Suspended ceiling,
Naff candle lights with no shades,
Thin duvet.
LED TVs had a faulty screen
Water pressure in the shower was weak.
No toiletries
No fridge
Cheap double glazing.
Window kept sliding open.

Staff didn't care & seemed completely fed up, not welcoming at all. No smiles or welcomes for breakfast.

Basic accommodation and rude check-in staff. I thought this was supposed to be one of the top hotels In Bournemouth. Surprised to find that WiFi was only available for 2 x 20 min free slots in my room despite paying for overnight accomodation. Room was clean but very crmpwd and I really struggled to find it asit was located in the third floor and started with a 6 despite all the rooms starting with a 3. I searched for quite sometime before finding the rooms in a separate area of the hotel up a lot of stairs in an attic area. Not ideal when carrying heavy bags. I wasn't offered any help to carry them or find my room.

Despite my company paying in advance for the room I was still charged on check-in and had to demand a refund later on.

The only positive was that the coffees were lovely and presented beautifully in the main lounge and not overly expensive.

The hotel really needs a face lift as it has become quite shabby over the last few years. I 2ouodnt recommend staying here.

Very poor and rundown. Service was slow and far from good.
The room was dirty, the bed was awful, the bath was unusable and rusty and there was mold in the bathroom plus no soap.
Couldn't sleep the beds were so bad and ended up speaking with reception at 4am having eventually found a phone number, which is high rate, as there is no phone in the room.
The breakfast was all deep fried and poor quality and overall a very expensive night away for awful facilities. Genuinely would have been better in a travelodge at less than a fifth of the cost.
Hotel were apologetic and genuine but couldn't offer anything to rectify the issues and the advertised parking was actually closed.
Completely unimpressed and really ruined a nice night away. Left unable to sleep and really dissatisfied. Never going back

Had a spa day at the hotel, and was very disappointed.

Everything looked worn, damaged, and dirty. The pool was cold, and dirty, there were around 7 loungers available.

The afternoon tea was average, at best. No fresh produce was involved in the food, it was all pre-made items. Very disappointing.

The spa treatment was faultless, but even the treatment rooms were tired and dirty.

Cannot recommend, and will never return. Gave an extra star for the staff, as they were all excellent.

Excellent location for the Pavilion Theatre , buffet breakfast was ok could have done with some Grapefruit segments , room was clean and tidy with a good sea view and with plenty of hot water instantly .
The carpets are rather tatty in the corridors and are dangerously worn on some of the stairs .
The lift on the ground floor does not go past the 2nd floor and it's a treck to find a lift that goes to another floor, as the rooms are not numbered in sequence you may need a sat-nav to find your room .
