Food looked great. Produce looked fresh.
I say looked because there s only so much waiting one can do. 4mins to be seated at the Kitchen. 5 before I got a menu. After another 10mins of watching people sit and have orders taken while I hadn t been served, I walked out.
David jones the best store in the Eastern suburbs ,what more can l say.l love David Jones
Lots of staff on hand that are ready to ask your questions. Store is very neat and tidy and service is quick.
Pleasure to shop there and the food hall for a break is sensational
Great one stop shop! Staff member can be a little bit more friendly, especially in the bakery cashier area.
Staff just suggest it would be better to purchase online!!
Could not spend money there if I tried. We were trying to buy some sunglasses and struggled to find a staff member who was engaging or willing to spend the time going through options or able to to provide information. Staff member was also entriely dis interested and poorly presented.
I made an over the phone order that was never fulfilled. It has been five weeks and I have finally received compensation, not from David Jones, but Australia Post. Since contacting David Jones to inform them that my order was not received, I had been hung up on multiple times, been promised follow up calls that weren t received, and been told that I could not be spoken to because there were customers to be served. After taking the matter to Fair Trading, I was told that David Jones opened an investigation with Australia Post who concluded that my order was delivered - Australia Post told me that this was not true.
David Jones took my money, sent a package, then avoided me like the plague, lying to myself and likely Fair Trading in the process. This is the kind of service I expected from an offshore online only seller, not David Jones.
I love the DJ's at Bondi Junction. The staff are always happy to offer advice and suggest alternatives if your size isn't available.
David Jones The Restaurant - went here for lunch on Sunday afternoon, waited to be seated for over 10 minutes, no one acknowledged us so we sat ourselves down. 5 minutes we sat there whilst staff walked past and I had to ask for a menu. Ordered a starter and a main meal each, starter came and the food was fantastic! Mains came and the staff put our mains down and failed to collect our empty starter plates. Food was great but the customer service was appalling!
Bought a Armani bag got home still had the security tag still attached.
Rang the store wae told to bring it back so they can remove.
Why im so angry is they are more concerned about taking our details for marketing than anything.
Shocking service. No one is in the technology section. When you asked for something, they will tell you it is out of stock without even checking the stock. They don t want to help. Liam, this gentleman in particular is the worst. He didn t even listen to our questions and wanted to turn us away by keeping saying out of stock. We explained that it shows online that it can be click and collected. He said no you can t. He even said you can t trust the system, there is no way you can buy it. He is rude, unapologetic and very uncomfortable to deal with. It is a shame that we see him at David Jones.
Quality products and service over four floors, although the highlight for me is wandering around the fantastic food hall on the lowest level. Of course things can be pricey (quality usually is) but there are bargains, and the word seems to be out based on the number of people lining up for the low-cost freshly-cooked lunches (fish and chips for $5!).
After going to several other shops to buy a suit and trying to be sold ones which either didn't fit or I didn't like I went to David Jones. The staff were patient and professional in fitting me with the right suit for the occasion . Great service David Jones !!
My parents come here for coffee and some lunch at least twice a week and I often accompany them. The food here is great and the location is very convenient. HOWEVER..the service is unbelievably poor. Even on off-peak times, the wait is long and the staff often seem very confused. Every time we've come here, we struggle to get their attention to order as they blankly walk past us - but then repeatedly come to our table to ask if we've ordered food that we haven't. Not to mention they have got our order wrong on several occasions. (there seems to be real confusion with the ordering system!?) Today I heard someone notify staff that another table had left without paying. It is such a shame as the food is great. I'm leaving this review because PLEASE please please DJs management, do something about this! We want to love this place!
Enjoyable and sales person was extremely professional and helpful
In men's shoes
Food: The cake that I bought - tiramisu- was a bit dry but delicious. Good price, but I wouldn't buy it again.
Service: One of the staff (I didn't get his name... average height, strawberry blonde guy, balding at the top and with a full beard) at the David Jones Food court was quite condescending and sarcastic while attending to me when I was asking him about their cake selections. Didn't want to give him any more of my time or energy by taking the bait, so I chose a cake, paid for it and left.
The food is amazing ! Congratulations to the chef !
Great food and superb wine list to accompany, normally the service is excellent, unfortunatey not today - overly busy waitress ( in tge empty bar) made us waiting to order the food for almost 40 min. Still we like it and will be back.
After much fanfare, I found the Food Hall to be so so
I always avoid large department stores because i get bewildered by selection and the general chaos of so many customers frantically fighting for service. But today i went in to buy 2 things - womens designer shoes and a mens wallet. The girl at the shoes section was so helpful. Amazing. And roberto who helped me with the wallet was seriously such a great guy. I hope they get paid good rates for being such legends on a sunday ! Thanks heaps
Best David Jones I've been! Great selection of everything.
Huge shopping mall with everything from Target to Dior. Clean, bright and very luxe feeling, with huge range of stores.
Quality of food is great, but your staff are clearly dealing with life problems seeing as though theyd rather talk amongst themselves instead provide quality service. Was ready to order, took a bit to get someone's attention but it's a Saturday, so it's busy. Took close to 30 mins for food to come out but it's semi worth it. Tried the kilpatrick oysters which were nice but salty, the waiter handed it to me, physically gave it to me instead of putting on the table and said "oysters". Not an overly bad thing but the table is empty....just put it infront of me. Market fish was really nice, light and simple. Dried red curry with prawns was flavoursome. Green vegetables with ginger is really nice.
All in all, great concept and food. Improve your service and it's a good restaurant.
Never enough staff to assist in shoe department.
And being told by a staff member (wearing a DJ's badge) that she couldn't help even find someone else because she didn't work in that department is inexcusable
The new Food Hall at DJs Bondi is great - very high quality finish, beautiful displays of varieties of food and many eating choices. My early morning photo shows few customers but lunch was standing room only, with a real buzz in the place - worth a visit.
Professional service, large choice of items, high quality products
Went to buy some homewears and there was one lady working in the whole section. She was new and struggling... not at all her fault as it is your companies responibity to train her and help her during the early days. Also unexeptable there was only one worker in the whole homewears section. Many customers were unhappy. Wouldn't expect this from David jones and am disappointed.
Havent been to Bondi DJs for ages, but went today to the food court area. it was such a nice area.
Stay away from the baby section. They think it's ok to make fun of a pregnant woman when asking a simple question about one of their baby products.
Slow service and overpriced food. Ordered a fish and chips for $18.5 and received 2 small fish fillets and about 15 chips. We also bought chips with tartar sauce, costing $7.5, and received maybe 40 chips. Garlic bread for $6.5 was a rip-off as all we got were two pieces of small bread slathered with oil with chives on it . Their service was incredibly slow and we waited almost 1 hour for our meal. Absolute rubbish.
it feels like im having a delirous nightmare walking through this store. the assault of middle aged womens perfume (aka the employees) makes the whole experience that much worse. if youre lucky enough to get their attention theyll probably send you to kmart instead of actually helping. the "food hall" is an overpriced gimmic as well as the other products they sell. I genuienly cant think of a time ive gone into david jones looking to buy something and actually walking out with it, especially with the other stores around it being the exact same brands and having better deals. lets hope the next generation puts an end to these department stores.
Most of famous brands are available there.. It's my first destination at OZ
I had a delicious meal from the hot roast area.
Then I bought delicious scones from the bakery. I will tell all my friends about the scones.
A beautiful store. Really well laid out and always neat and clean and beautifully decorated. I have shopped in this David Jones store many times especially for gifts, clothing, footwear, cosmetics and Christmas shopping. I have also enjoyed browsing around here during my lunch hour and for hours with friends on our girlie shopping days out. DJ s stocks a lovely array of fashion labels and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful, providing excellent customer service.
I called in to De costies Fish n chips shop inside David Jones the seafood meal was delicious.
I have been getting foundation at Armani in Bondi Junction for years and always get the most incredible advice and expertise from a fantastic, stylish , creative, knowledgeable , friendly lady called Laura! It is a pleasure to deal with her! She is always happy and enthusiastic ! Well done Laura ! Keep up your positivity !
The dining at the new food hall is most disappointing. The menu never changes and is extremely limited, same for the drink menu. The staff are disinterested in service and some don't even understand English. Pathetic, having spent $15 million ! Was better before
Amazing friendly service and great food :)
I'll be back for sure
Great friendly staff, only wish the food court had better options!!!
Great store where are all the staff waited 20 minutes for someone to some service me.
The poor review is because of the frequent lack on staff on the shop floor and at check out. It's the only shop where sometimes it's actually hard to buy something. The food hall is great and has an excellent choice of cuisines. The roast for $12+ is amazing.
Very rude and arrogant staff in the pure baby section of children s department. Undereducated and require a lot more training before they should be allowed to deal with paying members of the public. You have to question the recruitment process of this place.
A great range of goods with an amazing food court on the bottom level. Easy to find a good deal.
Slightly understaffed but staff very helpful and happy. Generally pleasant experience. Would gladly return.
Good range and some good staff. My bag went off as i left and no one came running. I went back inside to have a missed tag removed. Annoying
staff are a bit slack....couldnt find anyone for help finally found someone then when i was finushed & ready to pay there was no one around again 25mins later we got 1 lady but she didnt seem to happy bout helping......not good...its like they all dont want to be there
Great service, great range, found what I needed immediately
We had brunch. Taste and good service. Not a lot of choice on the menu. A tad noisy.
I received shocking customer service today when my son and I were refused a glass of water by the barman in the Bondi Junction food hall, despite being paying customers seated at a table eating food - sushi - that we had bought from the food hall.
The barman insisted that he had no obligation to serve us at his bar as we were not paying for drinks, nor were we table service customers.
Apparently sushi customers dont count.
Bizarre and utterly lacking in compassion for two thirsty customers.
Place to eat good food and purchase for the whole family ~
As expected from DJs, you can get some good deals on clothes here - worth checking out.
Found some nice business shirts on sale but staff were not very helpful. Also had an issue with their EFTPOS system and I had to go to another register. Sloppy although Myer not much better with its customer service. No wonder people are buying more online. On a positive note check out the Geoffrey beene shirts if they are on sale. Good quality.
Their new foodhall is absolutely amazing! Loving the quality ready-made meals and preprepared veggies!
Good collection of menswear and we can see electronics section as well
Never anyone to help, when you find someone they tell you they don't work for DJs they work for the manufacturer
Worst customer service in the Women s/Camilla department. Bored looking staff, talking amongst themselves offering no help what so ever.
if I could give DJs Bondi minus 1 I would. The way staff are treated is disgusting. I witnessed one staff member from the homewares section being verbally abused by a mother who was unhappy with the way said staff member talked to her son, which by the way was in the normal manner that you would talk to any small child. I have heard this staff member has lost her job because david jones is too lazy to deal with the politics involved and probably too scared as well. I cant belive david jones is so inhumane. this is a persons job.
As with any Department Store David Jones is only as good as the sum of its parts. At times I have wandered the menswear department as if in a Saharan desert or isolated South Atlantic atoll questioning all remaining sanity for having crossed the threshold of a Westfield: deserving of a one-star rating at best. However, I must give praise to the assistance given in the food department and the team, lead by Valerie, who did all they could to successfully fulfill the eccentric need to purchase 20 boxes of Byron Bay's Lamington and Rosella Jam Cookie - don't get me started on cookie either...it's a biscuit! Anyway, the food team deserve 5 stars.
Great place to shop and to hangout with friends and family.
we have been to david jones bondi looking for the bed an mattresses they service were wonderfull and patient explaning their products very wonderful experiences. they were very good with what they are doing.
David Jones as a whole pretty great customer service. However I was instore at Bondi Junction half an hour before closing the recently and the guy working at the Armani Beauty counter couldn't have been more rude and dismissive. I just wanted to try a foundation on my face, not full makeup just wanted to buy the one I had run out of but couldn't remember which shade it was. You would think I had asked him to sell his soul. He was soooo arrogant and instead of helping me chatted to some of the other people at the other counters then went back and scrolled on his phone for more than 15minutes. Totally ignoring me. Wow. Anyway I went and bought $400 worth of product from the Napolean girl because she actually could be bothered doing her job and was lovely.
Went looking for some Webber products and found one and couldn't find the other. The customer service person was very helpful in helping to find the other product.
