Extremely poor service, very rude and unfriendly staff!
I came into David Jones, Bondi store this morning to buy a product from the Elizabeth Arden counter. There was nobody to serve and the kind lady from Clarins and Chanel had to help me. Both these ladies were very helpful and it is a pity that I am unable to use there products.
Terrible service on all areas we tried to shop in today. From electrical to shoes. Staff not interested in helping us, we were Made to feel like a burden if we asked for help. The staff are more interested in talking to each other about what they did on Saturday night then helping customers. The girl in Midas needs training on how to help Customers select shoes or even have any interest in a customer in the store as much as she has with chatting with other staff and tidying up the shoes on the retail display. We had to get our own menus to have breakfast in the food hall becuase the staff were chatting amongst themselves. Considering the amount of money I spend in that store on a regular basis, very disappointing experience.
the staff did not seem all that interested in paying attention to any customers, and their attitude was poor, how ever product range and store organisation is very good.

Bondi Junction David Jones has an excellent butcher's that sell great tasty flavorsome grass fed meats. A bit expensive but worth every dollar for high quality meats. The food hall grocery sell outstanding quality & different types of overseas & local goods that you can't buy elsewhere. The clothing & shoe's & runners are high quality & are very modern & stylish. Some are made in South America & Turkey & Bangladesh & are even far better fitting & high quality materials to buy. Most worthy of a visit highly recommend for outstanding service from all their staff.
i went with my grandma on a day out, just stopping in for a refreshment, and purchased a $7 freshly squeezed orange juice. the table service was SHOCKING, taking ages to be even asked for our order, then upon request i got my orange juice, and was disgusted by the bitter tase, upon investigation i believe that it was a WHOLE ORANGE, SKIN AND ALL within my orange juice.
WORST CAFE AND ORANGE JUICE EVER.

The service within the foodhall is most appalling. I have given many chances, and the level of service everytime has been completely insulting and so poor. Although the food quality is good, the meals are inconsistent in the way they're served and presented. A big fail for David Jones in my view.
I wouldn't normally go here unless I had to - I bought items online several months back prior to a trip away and they offered a "cashback" for my spend size. Little did I know it was actually DJ credit which expired the same month! When I realised I was not pleased, and they were helpful enough at customer service to reset the expiry date; however, when I used it the lady at checkout charged the wrong price, and then refunded me with another store credit card ! They know / try to hook you in. Old games. Zzz.
A little expensive for a poor pensioner but looks great
Like most Australian's we have shopped at David Jones our whole life. Today we had the disappointing experience of attempting to return an item to be told that the "policy" has changed, and they will not return as the item was purchased over 30 days ago. To this, we asked to speak to a manager who could authorise the return.
After being referred through 6 staff we finally reached the "on site manager for the day" - Brayden - who whilst i continued to ask "Do you have the authority to return this" would respond quoting the policy. No apology, no attempt to fix the problem, only "no". Knowing full well that this was a waste of everyone's time that could easily be resolved, I asked for his surname for when we contact Fair Trading tomorrow. He said he was unwilling to give this. After an hour of this back and forward, he begrudgingly gave us the refund.
Zero understanding of guest service, and has turned a life long customer into a detractor, AND still gave me the outcome that we originally asked for (and were always going to get) after wasting an hour and being treated with contempt.
Gods variety, quality at relative value at food hall. Pre-prepared meals much better than alternatives if not cooking.
The mens shoe section is disapointing to say the least. For a major department store in one of the busiest malls, I find it very sad how much space is dedicated to this department.
Visited level 3 (womens) on Sunday 23 September looking to buy a formal dress. Despite being willing to fork out over $1000 there was no service on the floor or in the change rooms. To top it off the change rooms were littered with clothes all over the floor. I will be taking my business to an online international retailer.
Ordered bowls and plates online. In one box was a broken plate, and another box had a little note saying one bowl was missing. Are you kidding me - you send me a box where you know one bowl is missing. And what s even worse is your customer service are incredibly unhelpful - no accountability and my only recourse is to carry all these back to a post office to send them back again. Worst experience I have had in 2020 - and that says a lot

Clean and comfortable store, okay for quick shopping visits as it is quite big but I normally find myself ever going through a David Jones when I have a gift card as the product range isn't really for me and neither are the prices.

They are very expensive. Yes and not considering matching prices outside stores and they don t care you are there to buy. I ll be next time definitely going on line to shopping instead shopping there and creating a job for them. They just saying it is their policy ..

I visited David Jones Food Hall and i amazed with its selection of high quality product. Lunch time always packed by eat goers. Great atmosphere.

New food hall is great but the remainder of the store is disappointing. The staff spends more time talking to each other and fluffing displays rather than giving customer service. Always been the case at this store and I wonder why with all the other improvements......

Atrocious customer service incompetent. I went to the service counter they were all empty and blonde lady in the men s department look at me and said that she can t assist me! And called staff member and he couldn t even process my payment out raged!
David Jones has gone downhill. Once upon a time they valued, and indeed insisted on their staff giving the highest standards of Custome Service. The staff were awarded for it, and it could be a reason for dismissal if it was not given. Those days, have sadly passed. No staff, no service, no interest. It will be your downfall David Jones!

We where at bondi Junction store yesterday and staffs in men's were just chatting each other, we came to ladies sections and no-one were there to help us out, finally we try to find sunglasses but we have to wait for " the person in-charge more that 15 min , and it was almost 6 , so the " person in charge just rushing us.

Awesome service. Mike the barman on the first LVL makes the best cocktails and really makes you feel at home. Great service on LVL 3 with the customer service lady. Elder lady but just outstanding service.
Department store in Westfield Shopping centre Bondi junction. Plenty of parking around the centre. Catch the bus or train to the interchange and walk to the shopping center.

Love the food court here... bit $$ but the quality generally very good. The fruits are bit pricey, the same variety as Coles.
I have largely skipped shopping at David Jones since they removed the electricals, I know they're back, but the damaged is done. May take some years to get used to shopping here again.

I am a big fan of David jones specially the one at Bondi. I walked into the new food hall plaza, it looks amazing and I ordered food and pastry it was great. However the customer service was terrible the staff at food hall plaza are confused about the order and the place people can sit. All in all I can say it required better management and excellent professional service for such a beautiful cafe & restaurants.
Its ok to visit for the sales, but the majority of things are available online and probably cheaper in most cases. Dark stores lacking daylight trap the shop goer.
Despite having 4 barristas, 10 waiters, 2 managers and 220 chefs, somehow it takes 20 minutes to get a flat white out and then another 20 minutes to get a simple avacado on toast out, not to mention that the avacado was half frozen and bland.
Unhelpful and the cashiers always seem to disappear just as you want to purchase something. Force you to buy everything separately in their specific areas.

Lackluster service. Please wait to be seated, the sign reads. Well, waved towards a table, had to collect our own bottle of water and glasses, our own menus and ordered from the counter where told it's table service (really?). Coffee was okay. When the food arrived, waiter lent across the table placing his armpit at face level to put the cutlery between the two of us, not nice and no need as there was clear access on the other side of the table. Food, well indifferent results, not great but edible.
Also, noticed (unfortunately after food arrived) that one kitchen staffer repeatedly coughed without any attempt to cover. Sad reflection of lowered and lowering standards.
I dont see why this place has bad reviews. The staff here are very friendly. The food is amazing here. The presentation of the shop is visually appealing!
Myers at Bondi junction is very Good.The sales assistance at the cologne counter by the name of Vivian went out of her way to make sure that I was Happy with my Doce & Cabana cologne..She even gave me promo packs,for free..She's FANTASTIC
