We were very disappointed with the staff who we found to be unhelpful and not interested

The location is good
We were expecting a country house type hotel but it was more like a college

Family friendly country estate with a slightly alternative atmosphere. Wonderful veggie cafe, independent cinema, arts and craft courses and lovely walks.

What a beautiful place, the chance to wake up and walk in breathtaking gardens or down to the river, watch the sun rise and the dusk fall, it was so restorative. Dartington Hall team are working hard to carry on around the covid restrictions, so if you stay it's worth remembering to help a bit, this is a historic establishment and needs to be protected and cherished for all the work they do in education and ecology. Do visit, be flexible and enjoy the fabulous peacefulness of Devon.

I recently participated in a zoom lecture because of Co I'd. The lecturer was rambling ran on and frankly I couldn't believe this was a sample of a lecture. Points for trying to do something in lockdown but really disappointing. No content.

Parking fine-when I paid the meter! They use a private parking company called TPS/. It is a ticketless system so you cannot prove you paid! Being chased by legal people now- DON'T GO THERE. LOTS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. DARTINGTON YOU HAVE GOT THIS BADLY WRONG. WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN.

Very disappointed. We were expecting something special as it is part of "Handpicked hotels". Budget accommodation and it felt like a student dormitory room. On entry to the room, the first thing you saw was an iron and an old ironing board with a large burnt patch. The tiny shower had silver fish crawling around. You couldn't walk around the bed. The television was the size of a computer screen. We asked to be moved which was done reluctantly and we were given a second floor room even though they knew about my reduced mobility.

Lovely place with beautiful gardens, shame about the service in the cinema cafe, lady serving was on her mobile and then put a sign on a pad with back in 5 mins in front of me, then walked off and carried on with her conversation on her phone whilst attempting to serve me one handed. Very unprofessional for such a reputable establishment!
