Beware of taking your car in to this service shop....

Beware of taking your car in to this service shop. I will preface this I ve had multiple warranty claims with them as well as small maintenance jobs and had a great experience.

However my last experience today was quite different asking them to help diagnose a solution for random shuddering. After calling me recommending a $2900 torque converter repair I declined. When I went to pickup they slapped me with a diagnostics fee of $167 with zero heads up. Mind you my check engine light was not even on and I thought it was an alignment issue. The diagnostic kit came back with zero hits on issues...shocker. They offered to deduct it if I chose to go thru with their $2900 services.

After I reluctantly paid the $167, I then asked if I could apply this towards a transmission flush which is a much cheaper service that could potentially buy me some time ($220 there which is $140 at valvoline and they use the same valvoline fluid!).

I tried to work with them and got nowhere but them offering to match Valvoline s $140 on top of the $167 I paid them for less than 30 minutes of work. Very disappointed especially because I ve bought a car from them and service it there all the time!

Zero loyalty. Services are pricey. Will be buying my next Enclave this year elsewhere. Will be servicing all my vehicles elsewhere as well.

Dave is great! He always make sure to communicate and takes good care of my needs when I have an issue with my truck. The sales staff at this dealership was ok but anything special but Dave in service specifically is one reason I will keep coming back to Darrell Waltrip!

Since purchasing my 2015 Encore on 2/21/20 I have ...

Since purchasing my 2015 Encore on 2/21/20 I have encountered numerous mechanical issues (starting immediately outside my 3 mo/3000 mi warranty of course). Purge valve failure on 5/22/20, PCV Valve assembly replacement 6/19/20, and just recently had to have intake manifold, valve cover, gasket, seal, alternator, battery replaced. When picking up the vehicle from this last service, I didn't make it 20 miles before the electrical system shut down due to the alternator being incorrectly installed, resulting in my having to take the car back in. John, the service manager did arrange to have the car brought to me after this issue was corrected, so props to him. Although the service dept defrayed some of the cost of this last major service, I've still sunk over $1600 in the five months I've had the Encore- and it was a one-owner vehicle with 78000 miles and an impeccable maintenance history. Not the experience I would hope to have from a dealership, and will likely not purchase from Darryl Waltrip again, nor recommend them to friends and family in the market for a vehicle.

(UPDATE 9/9/20) - My Encore developed yet another problem (this time a badly leaking coolant tank). Despite the fact that this vehicle has been a nightmare, I am amending my rating based solely on my experience with John, the service manager. He and Lewis have done everything they can to try and help during this insane stretch of issues. They alone have helped salvage what would otherwise be an easy decision to make my purchase from Darryl Waltrip a one-time only occurrence.

Both Tuan and Brett went out of their way to continuously work with our budgets and customer needs. The entire staff, General Manager ( and Financial Manager Calvin Frey) treated us like family. A special thanks to Brett for checking on us throughout the purchase experience to make sure we were comfortable, and or if we had any questions concerning the vehicle or service warranties. He was knowledgeable and made us feel secure about our purchase.

I have been bringing my truck to this dealership for almost 2 years for all of my maintenance needs and never have I been charged for a tire rotation on top of the oil change. When I asked if that was a new charge, I was informed that it was not. I'm left to believe that either that is a lie, or I was led to believe that I was receiving services in the past that, in fact, I was not. Either way, I will not be going back, and I will be sure to let others know about their practice of 'nickle and diming' loyal customers. And for a $70 oil change/tire rotation, the least you could do is run it through the on site wash...I'm guessing there is an upcharge for that too. Shame.

I would highly recommend David Chavanes at Darrell Waltrip to buy a Chevrolet. Great customer service, they will also get you the best deal out there. My new car journey was hard and long (because I'm a very picky person) but David made it so much easier, thank you for everything!!!

2- Bob and Geoff the sales reps are that have helped me, they also go over and beyond to make sure everything was where it needed to be even my comfortablility in my terrain I have!
3- I came in for a used car and actually got a WAYYYYY BETTER DEAL for a 2020 terrain!

Best auto dealership in the area! I came here expecting to buy a 2014 GMC Acadia because I thought it would be great buy. However, Randy Murphy patiently helped and showed us other options. After a couple of hours we walk away with a great deal on a 2017 Acadia. The finance department worked with us and the payment were right on the marker. They even paid the balance off my other vehicle of $1,900 so that we would not have two monthly payments in August. I am also very thankful of Ms. Natalie Willard for going through all the additional plans available for the new vehicle. We were in a hurry to trade in a smaller car for something that would pull a camper trailer that we were purchasing for a trip to Alaska. We had to move quickly when we pulled into Waltrip's GMC dealership on a Sunday afternoon. Cody met us in the parking lot, listened to what we needed and suggested either GMC Acadia or a Buick of similar size. He showed us both and gave us the strengths of both. He and his staff then worked with us to quickly and easily close a deal on our Black GMC Acadia which we drove off the lot that very afternoon. Best of all, we took the car (and camper) too on our 13,000 mile trip to Alaska and we had NO problems.
We credit Cody with helping us from start to finish and of course we credit his support team for their work too. He is an excellent sales person for Waltrip's and an excellent friend to us.

From the moment I drove onto the lot, I had wonderful service. From the gentleman who opened my door for me to all the kind staff and helpful insight, I was delighted. The waiting area was fully stocked with snacks and drinks and the fastest wireless internet I could imagine. I was in for a simple oil change and they even washed my car. I can't thank them enough for the hospitality. The prices for such luxury was great as well. I will definitely be back!

Wow, where do I began? I truly wasn't sure I wanted a new vehicle. I knew I needed to make some immediate changes due to an injury that left me in pain each time I drove my mustang. I spoke with Ashley and JD. They pretty much laid out what I could do and how to get it done. But the hardest working salesman at DWBG has got to be Martavious. He went over and beyond to fulfill my auto needs. Martavious didn't give up although I was very selective about my auto requirements. From the beginning till the end it was a smooth transaction. I have been delaying purchasing a new/pre-owned vehicle for months because I would rather go to the dentist and not get novocain while having a tooth pulled than have to go through the "hassle" of dealing with sales people and purchasing a car. Well....my attitude has changed! I went to DW Buick GMC to look at a new and a pre-owned SUV I had located there. Conner (salesman) and Lawrence (General Mgr) were understanding of my needs, professional, able to make arrangements to my satisfaction, and I was out the door in my new vehicle with a smile on my face. Our Chevy Uplander was acting up again, we have had the worst time with sensors going over the past five years. Called in and they worked with me and my schedule.

I was able to get some work done while waiting in the lounge area and even borrow a loaner vehicle to get a couple of errands done around Franklin. On top of it all they got the repair done in time for the rest of my schedule.

There are other repairs to be made to the van and we'll have all of them handled at DW GMC. Now if only I could meet DW that would top it all off.

Bob Lang is an excellent salesman like all of the salespeople and managers we encountered at the Darrell Walltrip dealerships. Bob asked us a few questions and we off to drive a couple of SUVs.
Bob Lang was genuinely interested in our needs and answered all of our questions. Bob was informative yet not overbearing or pushy.
Before we left Bob introduced us to Sales Manager Nico who showed great concern for how are experience was and if their was any thing else they could do for us. It was a very positive experience and we felt like we were not under any pressure. My wife is not impulsive and makes excellent choices and Bob and Nico were excellent. I recently purchased a brand new GMC Sierra truck at Beaman Buick GMC in Nashville, TN. Within the first 500 miles of my driving the vehicle, I noticed water dripping onto my left ankle whenever it rained, which seemed to be coming from somewhere above the parking break. After multiple failed attempts to locate the problem at Beaman, I decided to take the vehicle to Darrell Waltrip Buick GMC in Franklin, TN, where Debra provided me excellent customer service. Within minutes, she and others suspected the leak was coming from the "shark-fin" antenna. Debra was friendly, knowledgeable, and frequently kept me updated as to the progress of the repair, by texting me periodically during the week. The contrast between my experience at Darrell Waltrip Buick GMC in Franklin was "night-and-day" compared to the horrible service I experienced on multiple occasions at the Beaman Buick GMC Service Center in Nashville. The repair technicians there were so dismissive of my concerns. They were definitely more interested in selling me the truck than diagnosing and repairing my brand new vehicle. I am never going back to Beaman...I am 100% a DW customer now!!

You're value ends after the sale! I purchased a2017 GMC Canyon SLE. I was interested in a used 1 year old SLE with low mileage. When I went to look it was formerly a rental which was not well cared for. I asked about a new vehicle and eventually purchased it. I was treated amicably while the sale was being made. Instead of having the vehicle ready I was forced to sit and wait 3 hours while it was "detailed" Once delivery was made the issues began. First the "custom tint" I was charged for pealed away from the window after 2 days, the sales man who could carless about me offered to have the same inept person try again or they would remove it for free, even though I was charged a premium for the tint. Then the license plate. I specifically told the sales me who insisted they get my license plates situated. They disposed of a plate that the taxes were paid already and issued me the first of many paper dealer plates while my license plate remained in limbo. After it expired I contacted the dealership for other reasons. I never was not given a manual or a pouch the manuals came in, instead 30K buys you a manual taken from another vehicle on the lot because they were "too busy" to find it. I spoke with the woman who was responsible for the license plates. She said the plate was on her desk it had been there for almost 2 1/2 weeks yet my sales person never called. I drove 50 minutes to Franklin to get my plate and, you guessed it the staff looked at me as if I just arrived from Mars. The same woman had no idea why I was there. Then after 25 minutes of waiting the salesman said he would file for a lost plate and filled out another paperplate only to be called 2 days later saying the first plate had surfaced. So now the plate that should have been Transferred was gone, the plate they filed for that arrived went missing and then surfaced was field for the wrong county! I tried to contact the GM Lawrence martin but is was informed he was too busy, or not available. I tried to email him but no response. My new vehicle was never scheduled for its first service I never received the special treat that Darrell himself promises Instead I was told by the girl at the desk the with respect to my plate they (Darrell Waltrip) only prvides license plate for the three neighboring counties..... She stated Williamson, Rutherford, and Davidson. I asked her Dickson is a surrounding county, she merely brushed me off and I pointed out the Williamson is not neighboring this dealership is in it. I was warned by friends and co-workers prior to buying the truck to avoid this dealership because it is a typical Franklin TN business where you are only treated as well as your income. I guess I had to be swindled to believe it. I would urge anyone looking to buy don't waste your time or money here. Test drive a vehicle to see if you like it but find it elsewhere. Franklin is a town of self proclaimed snobs but these people actually believe their own hype.

He was fair with the sale and trade in value for my car as well as being prompt to return calls with responses to all questions I had. They asked for my information so they can get a quote worked up for me and said repeatedly that they wouldn't run my credit. Well guess what? THEY DID!!!! So, we ended up purchasing a vehicle from the GMC in Columbia, TN instead. I will never step foot in Darrell Waltrip effing Buick GMC again.

It was great to get all the information ahead of time. The service advisor Brandon was detailed, followed through on everything and made sure we were settled before going ahead with the repairs. They arranged a rental for me in the meantime that allowed the flexibility necessary to match schedules. Pick up was a breeze. They apologized that they weren't able to get me out of there quicker even though I was there at my convenience not theirs. My Uplander was washed and ready for me just like they promised.
