I work here at Darkside tattoo, and I'm not just saying what I'm saying because I work here. Everyone at Darkside tattoo is phenomenal! They are the best people you will ever meet and the best tattooers around. Super good people with amazing talents and personalities to boot! Once you get tattooed here (darkside) you will not want to go elsewhere. Everyone is super knowledgeable about everything and anything tattoo related and beyond!! Come on by the shop, I promise you will NOT be disappointed!! I wish I could give 10 stars!

I have gotten a couple piercings from them and they all healed great and all turned out well and I plan on getting more and tattoos there!

Marissa tattooed me on my ribs. She was super chill, very gentle, and could tell when I needed a break. The booking process was also great - the receptionist was excellent - and the entire shop took appropriate precautions with Covid. I LOVE my tattoo and I hope to have Marissa for my next one! Thank you queen!!!

This is the best place in CT tonget a tattoo! My father has won tattoo competitions and Iv also gotten all my tattoos here and they came out perfect!!!

My wife got tattooed by Marissa and what an amazing artist is she!.. Impeccable line work. She could have been a little more personable, but wasn't rude . My wife and I were very pleased with the tatoo.
As for the cons:
Final price of tatoo was a little steep for what it was. The tatoo was of 2 names one on top of the other , all together 8 letters about 1/2 inch tall with a very small heart. Total came to $160.00 (including a $15.00 tip). Shop charges $125.00 an hour for work and Marissa seemed to dawdle at times. It took her 40 minutes just to do the simple stencil.
Bottom line:
You get what you pay for.. If your looking for top quality art be willing to pay top quality dollar..

I needed to change a metal piece of jewelry to a nonmetal retainer for an upcoming MRI. I tried but couldn't do it myself. I needed a professional.

Now, I know from experience that it might be quick but would certainly fill a time slot. I know from experience that a piercer doesn't just randomly have spare time to talk to everyone who walks in with questions requiring a detailed answer. Hence, I wanted to SCHEDULE a time to consult, which might utilize a full time slot, and hoped to schedule a possibly adjoining appointment for the switch.

Great first impressions! The receptionist who'd initially booked my visit was VERY professional, at an uncluttered desk. She was quite friendly and got me right in. Then, we had had to reschedule due to an expected blizzard (that never came). I screwed up, arriving on the new day but old time (now three hours early). On this sunny Saturday, the piercer was booked until my new appointment time (for which I inadvertently double-booked). She looked at the schedule, but openings couldn't immediately jive with my own. Again: this was due to my own carelessness, so I couldn't be mad at all. I was, however, working around the MRI schedule. Knowing Darkside's reputation for high standards, I didn't want to risk a different shop. What to do... I didn't complain though I knew I would neef to reschedule the MRI with metal remaining in my ear. The receptionist kindly consulted with the piercer as to when I could reschedule, and they were able to, due to a cancellation, find an opening right near the time at which I'd inadvertently shown.

The piercer was friendly, warm, and professional. Her station was clean and had a door. (I don't know if this has become industry standard. As a former receptionist in a tattoo shop who'd heard tons of complaints about a mere curtain, this is a BIG plus in my opinion.) Since I still needed to switch the jewelry and had brought 6ga PTFE, which I though they might not stock and which I'd had the vendor autoclave, she was able to painlessly change a flatback, internally-threaded plug that hadn't budged for a good seven years.

She frankly answered my delicate (I hope!) questions, and I felt good about my trust in their reputation. I am delighted that this small business is WELL on its way back to the top!She also, after I showed her the two tattoos on my hand and wrist that Sean O'Hara, the owner, had done years earlier, brought Sean (from what I hope was a break and not a big interruption) to say Hi. While they are delicately executed, they are but a drop of water in his sea of hundreds (at least) of multi-visit customers getting multiple huge tattoos spanning a multi-decade career. Keeping in mind that I wasn't a memorably stunning woman when I first went to Darkside, I was thrilled with the genuine recognition in Sean's eyes.

Where my family used to live, businesses near the Center of the city - not even a smaller town like our current home - complained bitterly about the "threat" of a potential tattoo studio. The area surrounding, and clientele entering and leaving, were neat and the people certainly were polite and not what our former home feared would hurt their businesses. (Actually, families shopping fot Easter dinner were frequenting the family bakery within the same plaza, none of whom seemed to feel the need to shield the children!)

Darkside's ample parking is within a clean lot, and centrally located near the historical Town green. The kind of business / tattoo shop its neighbors would never contest. I honestly feel Darkside Tattoo is the kind of business towns should welcome because they offer the quality product and excellent service any municipality can boast. I am so glad my trust was on target.

Locals might remember some bumps over the years but baby: Darkside is back.

Super clean, courteous, professional, great artist, they take extra steps to protect clients from covid-19, wear a mask it's a must, they take your temperature before your appointment, totally recommend them

I got my first tattoo here by Dave. He did an amazing job! He made me feel comfortable since I was super nervous. Definitely coming back for more.

I definitely recommend Darkside. I got a simple nose piercing here, and I absolutely love it. Melinda is a great piercer, she made me feel very comfortable through the whole process and was very clean. There was a curtained area for my piercing as well. She was supportive about my decisions and made it as easy as possible. She also gave me chocolate LOL! I will be coming back!

My friend and I got our belly buttons pierced here. The piercer pierced them very deep and did not give us long enough bars. The jewelry was digging into our skin making the wound much larger, red, and infected. Both of us had to go to a different place to get new, higher quality jelewry with a longer bar. We were also both told that the aftercare instructions that darkside gave us wasn t enough and was probably adding to the irritation.

I got my first tattoo last December. Dan did an amazing job. He help me through it step by step. It was a pleasant first tattoo experience.

Amazing staff/artists. Super attentive. The studio is super clean and gives you a good feeling.

Dan is fantastic! He updated an old tattoo, and it is stunning! He has a very delicate touch and his line work is phenomenal.
I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to refurbish or get a new tattoo.

I have gone to Marissa for three tattoos and think she is incredible! All the staff is wonderful and they are really receptive to your ideas, but they will be honest and will tell you if something isn't going to look good. I always appreciate their work and would highly recommend you call and book today!!

Both my husband and myself have gotten our tattoos at Darkside. Dan was our artist and he did an amazing job. He was able to create my tattoo by hand and I love it! The parlor is extremely clean.

I got my first tattoo with Cole and I absolutely loved it, the whole staff is very welcoming and it s a super clean place. Can t wait to get a second tattoo later on.

Got my conch pierced awhile back and it healed perfectly and she was so nice and accommodating

This was my first tattoo, from the warm reception to the incredibly clean work place, Darkside Tatoo is the place to go. Sean took so much time to make sure mine was right and just what I wanted. He then gave me the most amazing tattoo ,this guy is the real deal . He is truly a gifted artist .Watching his staff and family work they are all professional and friendly . I'm very impressed with this business .Bravo!

I went to the Darkside a few weeks ago to get my first tattoo, and I was very happy with my experience! Cole was my tattoo artist, and he drew my tattoo to a T, exactly how I wanted. He's very talented and fun to talk to. He was also very patient and careful considering I was getting my first tattoo (calligraphy) on my ribs. I was very comfortable in the shop, which was a big thing for me when looking for a place to get inked. I highly suggest Cole and the Darkside!

I go to this place for all my "Glass" Needs! The staff have always been friendly, polite and Never Pushy! I come here for Jewelry, Humor Gifts and even bought a couple Christmas Goodies too! I count on them to have what I need and Glass Supplies as well as to see the Fantastic Local "Glass Art" they always have Plenty Of! It is nice to see a Local Business that Supports Local Artists!

I recently had two tattoos done by Nick at Darkside and I was very impressed with the overall experience. The place was very clean and staff was very friendly . Nick was not only awesome to work with as I was nervous enough , he was very patient and did an overall amazing job snd made sure I was happy with the result. I will definitely be referring friends to him. I am already planning my next tattoo.

Great place, I've been here a few times and it was always pleasant. They even ordered me lunch when I was there all day. Always friendly, professional and very clean.

For my first tattoo I went here and had a great experience from the moment I walked in. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I didn't have an appointment but I brought in references photos for the idea I had and Dan was able to take my idea and turn it into reality. It's been about 3 weeks now and after carefully trying to heal the area it looks great. I would recommend this place especially if it's your first time getting a tattoo.

Got a great tattoo from Sean at Darkside. He was really friendly and also good at what he does. He has more that 20 years of experience and is a cool guy who charges a fair price. Come here in the winter if you are trying to get a tattoo from one of the snotty shops, these guys will help you right away and make sure you leave feeling satisfied!

Highly recommend. I've been getting tattoos now for over 30.years, so I choose the places where I get my ink carefully. Darkside is very clean. The atmosphere is calm AF and not pretentious, but they know what the hell they are doing. Maddie, the receptionist is really great. Cole put together a fantastic piece for my right arm and I will be returning to him to do work covering the scars left from my breast cancer surgery.
