We had a great time renting kayaks from the Dan River Company. The location is perfect, and we'll definitely be back.

River was not the cleanest, and relatively slow. Service and equipment was great, but wish the explanation on where to get out was clearer. That sign is tiny!

Very poor customer service by the owner of the Dan River Company! I have been visiting the Dan river for a couple of years and I have used the DRC a number of times in the past with no problem. This time around I was very unhappy with the way the owner spoke to me and my wife. Rude, short and condescending. So much so that we will never go back..... Great river but a company with misaligned business practices.

We all had a great time. Staff Was super nice and helpful.

It is a beautiful section of the river has some small Whitewater and it is the cleanest section on The Dan River

Very well run and I will be back! First visit. Called on a Sunday morning at 9 am and reserved two Kayaks for 1 pm. They load the kayaks, paddles and life jackets on the truck and head out to the drop in promptly. The Dan River was not running too big so jus the short trip was available and it took us 3.5 hours with two short swim breaks. The river is beautiful. The kayaks worked great. The Green Heron Ale House is adjacent to DRC and you can grab a craft brew after your trip. Two thumbs up!

Knowledge friendly staff and great kayaking company!

A great little place and great people who will make sure your trip down the Dan River is great whether you are a beginner or not... No matter what your concern or question -- they have probably heard it at least twice already. Don't forget on weekends to go next door to have an adult refreshment at the Green Her on afterwards..

FIrst of all do not confuse this place with Dan River Adventures in Stoneville. I attempted to book a trip with them and they rude and made it difficult to arrange a trip. I ended up contact the Dan River Company near Hanging Rock Park out of sheer luck. This place was great. I will be back this summer. The staff was friendly and worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed their day on the river. Stay away from Stoneville and Dan River Adventures and take your business to the Dan River Company. YOU will NOT be disappointed.

Sweet paddle down the Dan! The guys were so helpful. River was such a treat, a bit of white water, some rapids, amazing rock features along the way. Go check it out!

Always friendly and ready to accommodate. Didn t have an appointment to shuttle but they were able to squeeze us in! Use this place about once a year, sometimes more!

After only kayaking on lazy Rivers this River was a nice surprise. Fast-moving but I never felt scared. everyone was extremely nice and helpful I will return

Reasonable prices for transportation if you have your own kayak. Nice stretch of the river that they use. The Green Heron ant the end of a river trip is a grwat way to end your trip.

Wonderful float ride with a bar right next door to relive stories of the trip with some good craft beer

The Family and I had a great time floating the Dan with DRC. The river was a little high and the float went by quickly. If you can catch it when levels are around normal for the season, you can take your time have a picnic, fish, swim, etc. This way you really get your money's worth.

Went kayaking on July 6, 2019. It was awesome!!!! Not sure how anyone can give this place anything below 5 stars. Service was great, people were great, the area is gorgeous. I'd live there if I could.

As of right now my rating is 1 star due to the fact No one ever answers the phone everything is by website only aparently but some of us like to talk to a person not a website

Went today for our first family trip with DRC! We had a great time. Everything was well. Very organized check in procedure. The canoes we rented were in great shape. We had lunch on the river and enjoyed a nice lazy day here. We even brought the dog!

First time on the Dan River, saw this place had good reviews. They do have clean boats, clean vest, paddles are in great shape. Very organized and efficient operation. Will use again.

Incredible staff and that section of the river is amazing. Along the way there are cliffs to jump off, rope swing and tons of primitive beaches to picnic on. The rapids are small enough for kids...just class 1 and maybe a 1+. This outfitter will take your personal boat to the put-in for around $18 and additional boats are $5. Cool pub on their property for drinks after!

Had a great time even though it rained on us the entire trip. Fortunately we were geared for it and it just added to the adventure. Staff was friendly and equipment was in good shape. Safety information needs much improvement. Our biggest problem came at the end. Explanation of where to stop left us concerned the whole trip. We eventually found a small sign on the right. Be careful it's not a great access point. Getting out was difficult. Overall well worth a trip to Danbury!!

The kayak and I went with him, the cel drowned but I survived my first kayak!

Awesome river - butt hurt so bring a cushy cushion if u canoe. 2.5 hrs downstream. It's definitely a do over place. Wanna go again!

Second time returning to the Dan River Company and it was just as great as the first time. Easy check in. They load your rental kayaks with life jacket and paddle. Once they drive you up the river they give you safety tips and off you go! It's a great experience with such an amazing scenery. Definitely reccomend for anyone looking for a peaceful time on the river.
