Wonderful zoo with large variety of animals, birds and reptiles. The animals all have large enclosures to roam around in. They are making routes to take along the park for Covid to keep people separate. Masks are required. Lots of places to clean your hands. We loved feeding the giraffes!

What a great place to spend a sunny winter day! The zoo wasn't in "full dress" yet because of the season but still pleanty to see & do. The Dallas Zoo has an easy layout that flows through the whole park & what seemed to be a good kids area with a merry-go-round & a train! Something for everyone to enjoy. Senior & Military discounts!

While the Dallas Zoo offers a solid zoo experience, the Ft worth zoo beats this one in almost every way and it's worth the drive.

However if you are here for the cute yellow electrical mice, then this is the best place in DFW to find them! (Just make sure you are on the side with the choo choo train)

I always hear people say the Ft. Worth Zoo is superior to Dallas', but I have to disagree. YOU CAN FEED GIRAFFES AT THE DALLAS ZOO!!! How cool is that? I'm planning to take my son to the Dallas Zoo this Friday to see the dinosaur exhibit. The dinosaurs actually walk and spit water on you! Can't wait!!

The Dallas zoo size is perfect to explore for half a day and see all the exhibits without worrying about missing anything. There is a children's carousel with lots of animals to ride, an enclosed aviary to enjoy birds in, a beer garden for adults, a dedicated children's petting zoo, an AWESOME giraffe feeding station, a small nature trail, and many other enjoyable activities.
My favorite parts of the zoo included the gorilla enclosure, which was very large and expansive. It very much resembled the hilly and mountainous habitat that they would naturally be found living in.
There were also dedicated animal shows every half hour that showcased a different animal every time, with trainers that had great ways to highlight the animals while incorporating the small audiences. At one show they had the turkey vulture fly inches above the kids heads, and they all loved it!
There was also a giraffe feeding station where you can spend $5 for a handful of large leafed Lettuce and hand fed the giraffes. You can touch them, feel their soft fur, and take great pictures with their heads right next to yours!
While Dallas is the smaller of the two area zoos it still offers a good value, even if you have to pay $10 for parking.

This zoo is enormous, but even on a busy day during spring break they do a great job at parking control and getting parked and inside was surprisingly easy. More seating at the dining areas would be great, but what can you expect over a busy holiday type week? I hope they can reopen soon- the animal exhibits are gorgeous and the giraffe feeding experience is a must.

It has been 2 decades since I was there prior to my last visit. Wow has it improved. Half of it (Safari side) is nicer than the Fort Worth zoo, but not the other half. I'm glad I went but still prefer the Fort Worth zoo.

Amazing experience! It's evident the caretakers here care deeply about their animals and education! Everything is so wide open and neatly spread out so you can get a great view of the animals! You definitely leave the park learning a lot more about creatures all over the world than you'd ever think you'd know!

Dallas so is doing the absolute best they can during this covid situation to keep their animals and guests safe. I saw an individual walking around with sanitizer spray. They have railings to keep individuals from touching the glass too much. They are requiring masks (which I wish was mandatory for children they.. they arent immune catching or giving covid). They lack staff to enforce social distancing but I'm sure with a cut in capacity and a cut in funding contributes to such a factor. They have like 2 locations open for actual food and it's outside dining with seats. One on the African side and the other near the flamingos .

We loved our trip here! We homeschool and decided to drive to Dallas for an overnight field trip and spend a day at the zoo. The Dallas Zoo was so much fun. Additionally, it was set up to be interactive and educational with plenty of knowledgable zoo staff to tell stories, explain animal traits and behaviors, and answer questions. Our kids are already try to plan a return trip. We will definately head that direction more often.

This zoo is huge and offers a really great variety of animals to view and learn about. Conservation is addressed throughout the entire zoo making it feel like the animals really matter. When we visited the zoo had a really cool dinosaur exhibit that included a number of animatronic dinosaurs and that was really special for my children.

Wonderful zoo to take the family to. It s mostly shaded so you get a lot of cooler temperatures even in the middle of summer. They have a dinosaur exhibit going on right now which my children just loved.

I'll admit that I'm a pretty die hard member of the Ft Worth Zoo so this was my first time at the Dallas Zoo in 20+ years. I went for a special event...(OK, I went for the special Pokemon event) and had a blast. And the zoo handled all the complaints and issues around this event with sincerity and grace even though the issues were far out of their control. Based on that, I'm already planning a return trip in the next couple of weeks and by then I will be a proud card carrying member.

This place was so much more than we expected. For being located within the busy hustle and bustle of the center of Dallas; you totally feel as if you've left the city completely. I loved how the zoo used the space it had. There is plenty of shade for when the heat sets in; however, you definitely want to get there early when all the animals are out and about. Once it gets too hot, they're less active and just want to sleep. There is a children's zoo area as well with many hands on activities, a play area, splash zone, petting zoo and learning opportunities. If you're making a day of it, being a cooler with some snacks, lunch and plenty of water. There are restaurants and food stands available as well if that is what you prefer. We really enjoyed this place and actually preferred it over the zoo we have back home. Feeding the giraffes was fun and for $5 you get a lot of leaves and carrots. Would recommend to anybody.

GREAT! AWESOME! $1.00 DAY IS THE BEST BARGAIN IN AMERICA!
The tiger was shy. I couldn't get a picture of him, but everyone else strutted their stuff. That giraffe was a real ham! The picture below was very realistic!

A very nice zoo, very very big, you have to have good time on your hands if your want to see the whole zoo!

Overall a very pleasant Zoo to visit ! Highly recommended to families with small children as the children area is very immersive. The children can groom goats , feed birds and interact with lots of other animals. Wide variety of animals to see as seen from pictures. The tickets stood at 15 dollars for each adult which is a reasonable price (children over 12 are classed as adults). The parking was easy although we had to go around onto the other side of the highway to get to the main entrance ( a parking fee of 10 dollars existed). This is a great venue for family days out There was a lack of some animals outside because of the cold weather , however i cant fault the zoo here as it is not up to them if the weather is like this. The staff did their best to assist us and provided an enjoyable experience with lots of information.

Always a enjoyable and fun family time. My kiddos love the dinosaur land area, which I don t mind the craft beer area as you getting to dinosaur land! Wish they had bottle water versus the cans is my only complaint. Annual member and we will keep coming back!

Nice place to visit with reasonable entry fee and parking fee. Did book both online. Most animals are tired when I visited on 6th Sep 2020. Giraffe, Elephants, Chimpanzee, Lions and Tiger is my favorite in today s visit. Lion and Chimpanzee was very close to window so had a clear view. You can feed the Giraffes. They have some big collection of snakes cobra family snakes were big in length. The mono rail safari is closed probably due to corona. Food is pretty costly but they are available and seating is spread out. Most people do respect social distancing which is appreciable.

Wonderful zoo! I m from out of town and the staff was amazing!! I am here for a family celebration of life and the kindness we have been shown has been huge in assisting in this celebration! This experience has been above and beyond! Beautiful place. I wish the other guests were respectful, but the zoo can t control everyone!
Thank you for the experience!
