Love this zoo!! Especially the giraffes area, my son loves these animals and for him is so exciting to get to feed them. Very nice experience for kids and adults. One of the best places to visit in the city, lots of fun!

Loved the Dallas Zoo! Open and easy to walk through with three kids one was in a stroller. All the animals were out and were visible and active. Everyone we encountered were friendly and all smiles. They actually looked like they enjoyed their job. My kids loved it and can't wait to go back. We also stayed for the Christmas lights and it was awesome! Plenty of activities and lots to see! Great job Dallas!

We had a great time! The weather was beautiful and every staff member we came in contact with was very friendly/helpful. We grabbed a mushroom, bacon, gouda - very tasty. Even though it was a little pricy(like all food at any amusement type place) it was very filling. I may split it with someone next time. It's that filling! Grab a conservation cup and pay less than $1 for your next refill - cup never expires!

Pretty nice size zoo. It does get pretty hot and steamy by mid day in the summer. Parking lot fills up pretty quick even a few minutes after opening.

Great kids activities. You may want to bring Swim clothes for the kid because they have a fountain in the children s part.

Went to the Zoo today wow so many kids. Glad they were all having a good time. We did goto see the Elephant talk but at the scheduled time nothing happened. Spoke to Volunteer they knew nothing they said they didn't get any info from the Zoo staff what was happening so a bit more communication between Volunteers and Staff would be helpful.

The park itself is beautiful and huge! I spent almost 6 hours there! The people working there are very kind and there are always events or presentations of assorted animals going on. Be prepared to spend a lot of money though if you want to eat or go on the train ride.

Very awesome place for a family retreat. Fun and educational at the same time. Prices are well worth it. Staff are out and about the zoo in case there is an emergency or you have any questions. They are friendly and very knowledgeable about the animals and zoo itself. Get your walking shoes on because you will be in for a long walk ! Most of the exhibits are outdoors, you can feed the girrafe for $5 which is app 4 crackers or pieces of lettuce. We ripped them into smaller pieces, great upclose interactions for kids and very fun. Alot of the animals are right against the glass such as cheetah, monkeys, otters so you can take nice quality pictures, especially in open habitats. The shows the staff do are good quality and you learn alot about the animals, very detailed and FUN. You can bring your own food and drinks which I recommend if you dont plan on spending an arm and a leg. There are a few air conditioned exhibits to escape the heat, and lots of cool down stations where water will spray you to stay cool. Highly recommended !

This zoo has a lot to offer. It is working hard to focus on particular collections of exhibits.
It has two main areas - the wilds of Africa, and Zoo North. Wilds of Africa has penguins, a mandrill exhibit, a lowland Gorilla habitat, Chimpanzee area, Lion habitat, Cheetah enclosure, warthog, and river hog, Giraffe feeding station, Elephant area shared by ostrich and gazelles. Also there are meerkats, springbok, hyrax, an aviary, an excellent hippopotamus exhibit, and okapis, and saddle billed stork. I was a little sad that the rhinoceros , blesbok, oryx and bongo are no longer there. I would give it five stars, but their African hoofstock are no longer as diverse as previously.
I haven't even touched on Zoo North in this review. Perhaps in time, I will be able to write about it as well.

We love this zoo! It's large but not too big. If you are local then you should definitely buy a membership. We love watching the elephants and feeding the giraffes. The keeper talks are fun and interactive. They seem to be very well staffed. Get there early though because parking is limited and you will end up down the street, not good with smaller kids.

Despite being May, it was 95 degrees out. The spray stations were on and the air conditioning was up high in the building's. 5 Kindergartners and still saw almost the whole zoo in 3.5 hours and stopped for lunch. We just skipped the children's zoo because the kids were tired and it was about time to leave. Water fountains were plentiful and all of the animals were out and in view if not active.

We did the Wilds of Africa this trip. I had some difficulty with my tickets, but the kind folks at the gate booth sorted it eagerly and efficiently. Entering the park, signage was clear and paths broad and easy to navigate. The tunnel to the African exhibits is lined with jaw-droppingly beautiful animal murals. Charismatic penguins noisily greeted us at its end, and we stopped for a picnic lunch past the mandrills in their huge enclosure full of enrichment. From food, we hit up the new hippo pond. Folks, those are some happy happy hippos. The kids played on animal statuary as we wended past great apes and pretty good birds, and we wrapped up our visit in a huge savannah with giraffes, zebra, ostriches, elephants and much more. All the animals had tons of space and habitats that matched their natural ones, with big rocks, tall grass, or large elevation changes as appropriate. None of them seemed depressed, though the meerkats did give me some suspicious looks. Only negative I can think of was some parking weirdness, but it wasn't anything a single cone wouldn't have fixed. 9/10 would gawk again.

I LOVE the zoo my personal favorite is the penguins but this zoo is perfect, its a pretty decent walk (good for a entertaining jog) or you could watch the satisfying animals. There is a telescope for the birds so you can watch them fly around or play I Spy with your family

I loved seeing all of the amazing animals! Really enjoyed the cool buildings when it got too hot, you could just walk into an air conditioned room and cool off for a bit. The dinosaur exhibit was awesome!

We had an awesome experience at the Dallas Zoo today. Even though some of the exhibits were not open, the time spent with my family and seeing the beautiful animals that were out today and having the people at the zoo explain things about those animals to us.. it was amazing.
