TONS of Fun!! People say the Fort Worth zoo is better, but I DISAGREE! We bought season passes to DALLAS ZOO because there are loads of things/areas to enjoy, repeatedly! Carousel is at the front and has colorful riding options :) Petting zoo is near the front right, and our kids love it. Good amount of animals to pet. Right beside the petting zoo is a water play area for the little kids (its free). Feeding the birds is fun and cheap ($1). Feeding the giraffes is a thrill for only $5. The gorillas area is actually pretty easy to view. Ton of different areas to check out the gorillas as they move around. They also offer live pony rides. There is an excellent area for little ones called Discovery house & yard.. it is SUPER FUN!!! Every day they do Animal Encounters at 10:30am/12:30pm/2:30pm where kiddos get to pet and check out fuzzy, scaly, slimy, and feathery critters up close! Oh the New Hippo exhibit opens Spring 2017. Have fun!!

I love this zoo!! They have added exhibits over the last year or so. I bring my family here often and we manage so spend a better part of the day exploring every time.. They have a great children's area for the parents to relax a bit while they continue to get some Of that never ending energy out . The zoo keepers have always been nice and never hesitate to explain about any of the animals when asked. I cannot wait for the weather to warm up a bit for our next visit!

It's really a nice place. I went in winter December end so didn't see much animals.
But they have zoo lights.. that they turn on after sunset. That's really worth visiting.. the decoration is really nice... enjoyed and had fun...

****Please read if going to zoo lights*** I gave the zoo 3 stars because I've been before and love the African part of the zoo. That being said. Zoo lights is a little misleading you will not see any animals if you go after 5pm as they are "in their beds" we thought it was see animals and lights but they charge full price to see lights in only half the zoo and most animal exhibits are closed. Not worth the $15/ person if you expect to see animals

Good

My first time visiting the Dallas Zoo in years today. Absolutely love the $1 admission and $1 food items for large families that's a great value. My kids are still talking about their wonderful adventure. Large crowds despite the Texas hot Weather.#FutureZooMembers $1Day#FamilyFun

It was okay, several exhibits were closed like the elephants and giraffes, due to flooding, but sadly most of the other animals were hiding and not visible. Loved feeding the cockatiels, but when we got to the lorikeets they were full, so that was a bummer. The Bird show is not to be missed, honestly I think it was the best part of the whole zoo experience. So definitely don't miss the bird show!!! We rode the train, but it was really uneventful honestly, maybe it was just to hot on the day we went, but we didn't see much extra paying for the train ride. I wish there was not so much additional expenses for everything since we paid for admission.

Excellent place to enjoy with your family! The spaces are wide, well maintained, with many points for hydration, rest, food (whether you buy it there or bring it from your home), and neat bathrooms. Apart from the exotic animals they exhibit, there is also a great gallery of reptiles, some unique to Texas; Pampering and entertainers shows, legoland, Disney cart tracks, and many other attractions. Recommendable.

While I haven't been to many zoos, in my travels this is one of the best I have been at. The Giants of Africa exhibit is awesome. love how the animals are allowed to intermingle with other species.

Love it

I really liked the Dallas Zoo because I found it very tidy, clean, great facilities, very friendly and they keep the animals very well. Much better than 25 years ago I went for the first time!

The zoo and attractions were awesome! The staff not so much. The day we went got rained out. No big deal because we kinda expected that. The problem we ran into was the rain check. We didnt get much resistance on the tickets, but did with the parking. If our experience wasn't good due to the rain and we were given a rain check for our tickets, so should the parking. After quite a while haggling with the representative we were given parking too. It seemed like the parking rain check required paperwork or something because the representative said to another representative that they didnt have time to deal with the paperwork. Keep in mind we're standing in the rain dealing with this issue because the kiosk/stand didnt have an awning to block the rain. Over all we did have gun and will return. Seams like some employees need a refresher on customer service.

Great zoo. Admission was similar to other zoos in the area. Good variety of animals. The enclosures are good for smaller children, the lion exhibit is glasses off inside the safari cafe. The giraffes have a feeding area $5 gets 3 pieces of lettuce, always a line here but the kids love it.

Most of the exhibits are easily viewed by children without having to be picked up or carries. The zoo staff are friendly & always willing to stop & answer questions.

Numerous places throughout the zoo to duck into some AC. Wheelchairs, strollers available to rent prices not terrible.

There are shows throughout the day, educational and entertaining talking about several species. There are different talks from the keepers about the animals where you can see the animals up close & ask questions.

The kids some is good, there is a nature trading station. I always forget to take something but my understanding is you get "points" for bringing in items like pinecones or crystals and so many points you can get a prize.

Parking leaves something to be desired, plenty of spots, just a descent walk from the entrance.

It s quite large. We went on a Saturday so it was crowded. But the animals were well-cared for and the keeper talks were engaging. We hope to go again soon. Oh, and our kids loved the otters and the dinosaurs. We were sorry to hear they lost a baby giraffe a few days after we left.

I visited it along with my 4 year old. She absolutely loves African Safari and Savana . We are fortunate to enjoy Christmas and New year lighting and tunnel that connect north and south zoo has laser light, which kids loves.

We went to the Zoo Lights (for 21 and up) let me just say we had fun! It was a Thursday we both worked all day and needed to just relax. We walked around the zoo with our drinks ;) and looked at all the lights. We did take alot of selfies. The animals are not out so make sure you dont expect to see a lot of animals. We did see flamingos, owls and reptiles. The zoo had a food truck that was serving chicken strips. The food was good and I loved the alcohol. My 1st drink was whiskey and water. My 2nd drink was a apple cider. It was romantic and relaxing for my boyfriend and I. My boyfriend actually enjoyed it also. The only negative thing I have to say is it was very expensive by the end of the night. 10.00 for parking, 15.00 for each ticket, 20.00 for our 1st two drinks then 20.00 at the food truck then 20.00 for our 2nd set of drinks. I feel like the food and drinks were definitely over priced but hey we were making memories and I would do it again! if you found my review helpful please give me a thumbs up!
